As a person who works in the game industry, I think this game is so well developed. The attention to detail. The AI, the traffic, the algorithms for finance the industry. It's so much to put in one game. And they did it so well. As of bugs, every game has some. But compared to the scale of this game, I don't think bugs are something to worry about. Also, we can't compare a 50$ product played on next gen consoles with 10$ game. (ps: I've played cityskyline I only, not II, and this is just my opinion).
City Skylines 2 is indeed an improved version only thing that I miss from City Skyline 1 is water physics. That was kind of fun, you can't just vanish it. As a whole love it and Kibitz's commentary makes it even more fun.
So my understanding of the simulation from the dev diaries is that people will take the most convenient path to their destination. This means that to reduce traffic, you need to make public transit more convenient than driving. You might want to consider ticket prices.
If traffic is still an issue you could always just triple down on every road in the city.....so you have the main roads you already have. Above them you can string some highways and beneath add another underground tunnel system so people can take one of 3 ways to get to everywhere XD
Regarding trains, you control all the traffic both by creating the cargo routes and setting how many trains are on each line. Next, in Cs2 you can add way points to the route to make them use any track you like. I've found for most lines you can drop the number of trains to the minimum because of the capacity of each train.
Yo, @Kibitz. Love the new Cities Skylines Content; was a little sad to be saying goodbye to Satisfactory, but you've done a wonderful job making this just as fun. Idk if I'm alone, but I would love to follow a few townspeople every once in a while and see how they are getting along, how they drive, and what they do. I used to do that in Roller Coaster Tycoon, and it always proved to be funny and interesting. Keep up the good work, all the best.

"Maybe the tourists don't like the pollution around the harbour", New York City was a dump, every river was polluted as hell, there was trash everywhere(in the '70s and '80s), slums, a collapsed highway that people bicycled on(in the '70s), etc, and people still loved the hell out of New York!

If you want to attract tourists you should definitely keep the polluted water as that is the most scenic thing ever and is exactly what a tourist would want to see
It would be great to demolish the highway through downtown as the zone is already fairly close to the rest of the highway network annd the added intersections are a downside to the rest of the system. Also, without so many highway entrances dowtown traffic could flow more easily and there would be tons of freed up space for a linear park.

I love the train trench, my city is very vertical, central station has 3 levels to get trains. I wonder if you can build like a combo bridge though, to have trains and two lanes of highways crossing large pretty bridges, instead of 3 basic ones
I have a better suggestion, he should do a city with no public transit! The traffic would be mayhem, fixing it would take lot's of time and effort and the end result will probably look like a spaghetti of highways.
If I was a dev I'd be watching creators like Kibitz like a hawk since he produces so many interesting edge cases to bugfix :')

I like just watching Kibitz slowly create New York seemingly by accident.
I had that problem with one of the cs1 maps. No matter how hard i tried, it just slowly became NYC
