And this was an encore performance. So she was able to pull off this song after doing a full live concert. Her voice had incredible stamina, perfect agility, tone and pitch. A talent like that really comes once in a lifetime.

I always argued that Whitney was THE VOICE, superior to even Aretha, though Aretha is STILL the Queen of Soul! Whitney ATE THIS SONG UP and yes did it better than Aretha and on a LIVE STAGE no less.
FACTS! Aretha was great vocally at what SHE did. Whitney was great vocally at EVERYTHING.
Don’t be ridiculous, Aretha tops all.
It breaks my heart to watch her during that time, though - she looked so tired and beat down. Of course, she always sounded like an angel no matter what, but her appearance really started to show haggard during that time. But, she can do no wrong - her voice was a gift from God!
Tbf she was at the end of an hour plus concert in Brazil.. she bound to look hot n messy.. Whitney was never a "pretty prissy" type performer

@@zacharyminton73 present another clip from the bodyguard tour where she looked Haggard.. Making a general statement with no corroborative evidence makes you sound illiterate.. This was Brazil at 40 centigrade in th e open ...with hardly any costume change.. she sang for nearly 2 hours straight... You can check her concerts from Chile, ARGENTINA ETC... Your statement makes no sense..
@@odumosuolusegun2781 My corroborate evidence is exactly in this video - and appearance is subjective, an opinion i am entitled to. You seem to take offense to my perception of her appearance, seemingly bewildered that I could make such a remark. The fact is, during this time she was heavily drugging with the hubby. But as I've stated before, I am still amazed that vocally she still pulled it off. Nonetheless, your use of the term illiterate was poorly executed, dear one. What? Is that a look of bemused condescension on your face? I will always regard Whitney as the best singer of our time, and also have the right to remark when her appearance was beginning to decline. I can integrate two thoughts at once very nicely. Thank you.
Kasian reacting is how I'm seeing this for the first time. She absolutely looks like she is completely worn out. You don't get sunken eyes like that from humidity and singing for 2 hours. It is heartbreaking but amazing she still sounded so damn good while going through so much in her personal life at the time.

nonsense...You should listen to all her concerts from 1985.. she made sure she interpreted all her songs and gave them depth and brought meanings in them that the writer did not even think about....so disagree. Nothing was white about her voice. Strange that fans of another singer seem to think she had a common black church girl voice. Which I also disagree with.

You are correct. It has been well documented by producers, musicians and writers who worked with her during her first and second albums that Clive was insistent that she sounded less soulful and more white. That’s a fact. Clive was focused on her crossing over and she did. Whitney always made her live performances more soulful and that’s what made her so special.
