I think if we get Joker it is the perfect time to cast Willem Defoe. I don’t want to die (or HIM to die) before we get a Joker performance from him and I think he would play him best as a older, more familiar Joker to a more seasoned Batman. Just like how the Arkham games portrayed him (imo to perfection)
I think it would be awesome if, for the “one villain, one story per episode” idea, when it comes around to the Joker’s episode, once he starts telling his story, it’s a cartoon. It’s animated. And it’s the story of Jason Todd’s death. I think that the contrast of a bright, cheery, colourful tone mixed with a tragic, awful story would make for a great episode.
Yeah, that could be a cool idea but his episode could have a different animation style to it. Like our clay face’s story could be claymation, While man bat could be more Gothic.
@@brantjustilian3791 Shit yeah that could be awesome. I just think that it would work best if the story that will be the most upsetting, which would likely be Joker’s, being animated would make a cool contrast to others, which would likely be live action.
Happy New Year, Boba and Community! 2024 (and 2025) is going to be a bountiful feast of DC content. Can’t wait for all your thoughts and analysis Boba! Here’s to another great year! 🎉 🥳
Well dang, Boba, I didn’t expect to get such a hefty discussion as the final question of this video! Thanks for taking the time to read and expound upon my thoughts on the DCU, you’ve been my go-to source for DC updates because of how openly and optimistically you talk about these things. Appreciate it, Mr. Talks!
What marvel has forgotten is that a shared universe is not the story, but just enhances the stories you tell. Just like how diversity is not a main character trait but enhances the characters within the story.
Arkham in the DCU is like a What for Marvel, A proving ground and test bed for testing bad guy's and storylines. . + if you have Damion as Robin you need to reference the league of shadows and Family Al Ghul .
What I think would be really cool for the Arkham show would be to have each episode presented as an interview of different rogues talking about their encounters with Batman, but they’re all being conducting by Hugo Strange as a means to understand Batman better, a secret psych evaluation if you will to learn his strengths and weaknesses, maybe even deduce his identity through context clues. Probably unlikely but I think it would be really interesting
To build up the threat of the Centre (if rumors of that alien race in the DCU are true) Matt Reeves could shepherd in a maybe 3-to-4-episode mini run to build up the threat that the Centre pose. Matt Reeves did very well creating alien horror with 2008's Cloverfield.
I think showing the past of batman through each of the villains would be cool. Each bad guy was put away at a different point in Batman carrier. So lets say Riddler would have seen him at the beginning of his career, then ivy saw batman and robin, freeze saw bats and nightwing, ect ect. I would like it to tell the history of batman up to current day through the lens of the criminals, so he is portrayed as this mythical unstoppable figure, then in brave and the bold you see a look behind that at the person he really is, by seeing him raise damian. Edit: now im seeing you kinda said that in the vid
43:10 - There is a .0000000000000001% chance of Robert Pattinson being the DCU Batman because first of all his Batman is just too grounded in reality. There's just no way. This alone is enough to tell people that its not possible. You don't even have to hear it from Matt Reeves.
I don’t care what universe I just want solid movies for the characters I love. And I’m so looking forward to this new beginning. I think the Arkham series should maybe be formatted like the one bad day comics run IMO, thank you boba for the great videos and the updates . Love watching your channel. Keep it up sir. Happy new year to all.
Assuming that Margot Robbie isn't sticking around the Arkham show could be about Harleen interviewing patients and have the finale be her and Joker breaking out of Arkham
I think you could still do this with Margot Robbie, I wouldn’t be surprised if they keep her and she wants to stick around. I just wonder how much of her character they will keep the same or how much they’ll retcon.
@@nicholasflame_4796 honestly if they wanted to they could have her play a separate different version of Harley altogether. She’s still young enough to play the character for a long time.
If Gunn wants to embrace different styles and directors imagine a few episodes of the Arkham Series directed by Andy Muschietti or Mike Flanagan basing an episode on 1989's A Serious House on Serious Earth.
The Arkham show would be a cool way to show Batman with Dick Grayson Robin for a couple episodes, then have him with Jason, and then Tim Drake. Have them take down villains we may not see in the movies or may see in movies with bigger roles. They just have to make sure the show doesn’t become homework for the movies.
With the involvement of Tom King as a consultant in the DCU; I am really curious to see what type of Wonder Woman we get in this new universe. Will Diana's daughter Trinity be in this world?
I just hope they nail the casting for wonder Woman. They need to cast someone with some serious acting range and charm but also beauty that can match gal Gadot.
@@JayeKelzDC had recently introduced Trinity, Diana's daughter in the comics. She is a bit younger than Damian Wayne and Jon Kent as they were babysitting her as a child. So he re is your connection to Wonder Woman. I don't see Trinity to appear anytime soon in DCU. We don't even know how well she will be received by fans as she literally been introduce jus couple of months ago
@muchanic that's interesting. Barn work would definitely get done with Kara and Trinity around. The Tom King connection is the only reason I think it would happen considering they seem to be adapting his comicbook work.
I’m really hoping James has plans for a Teen Titans project, or young adult Titans whatever they wanna do. Id like to see Dick and Starfire lead the team, probably cast the actors mid to late 20s. Please do Beast Boy justice, I enjoyed Titans for what it was, but he was done so dirty in that show. I would also rather have Cyborg be with the Titans than the Justice League, I think he fits in more with the team. (Please cast John Boyega, he’s a bit older, I believe 31 but bros gonna be a robot anyway so it doesn’t matter)
I love the idea of each character in the Arkham show getting an episode explaining their run-ins with Batman, and I think it would be cool if these talks were prompted to by Harleen quinzel as a psychiatrist, with the last episode being her listening in on joker and really understanding and connecting with him, and maybe (prison break) but I'm not sure that could lead into brave and the bold starting with Batman dealing with all of his villains loose again before Damian shows up
I would love to see THE Animated Series or something like it. Almost Got 'Em is a great episode and I would love to see something like it #ChristmaswithTheJoker
As i think more about the potential for an Arkham series, im thinking about what the episodes could be like. 8 epsidoes, you could have 8 villains going over their stories. I'm thinking Zsasz, Ventriloquist, Poison Ivy, Killer Croc, Scarecrow, Freeze, Joker, Two-Face. The epsidoes should all feel like bottle episodes except like your falling through an ever tightening bottle where each episode is creepier than the last. Really go all in on a haunted house vibe. Ep 1 - Batman arrives at Arkham Asylum with Two-Face in tow. Warden Sharp is there to greet him and they talk for a moment before guards escort Two-Face away. In the background of the scene is Hugo Strange, quietly taking notes before he's reminded by an assistant that he has an appointment with Victor Zsasz. Strange goes and talks to Zsasz at the man's cell. Each episode would occur not in an office or an interrogation room, but at the inmates cell. Showcase the disrepair in Arkham, the difference in security depending on the villain in question, and how long each villian has been there all through visual queues. Also set up Strange as a man who knows his strengths as all he brings with him to each meeting is a folding chair to sit on and his notebook (that we never see what he writes in it bc that would be important later) Then Strange, with his deep, calming voice, interviews Zsasz to learn how the Batman caught him. Zsasz would be our first look at Batman as a character. Zsasz should hate and fear Batman in equal measure. Zsasz's cell would be old, dirty, covered in scratch marks. Ep 2 - Strange talks to Sharp and tries to get an interview with Two-Face, but Sharp says no. Strange instead goes to talk to the Ventriloquist and Scarface. Here we see the deep rooted fear Batman has no lower level crimminals. The Ventriloquist should be absolutely terrified of Batman, almost to the point of psychosis. Strange would continue taking notes. His cell should be neat, but sparse and he should be fidgety and trying to reorganize everything so it's "just so". Ep 3 - Strange passes Two-Face's cell, but the guards steer him away so we only get a quick glimpse of Two-Face, head in hands. Strange then goes to talk to one of the more Super/Meta villains: Poison Ivy. Here we/Strange learns that Batman is incredibly intelligent and adaptable. Ivy explains how she should have had him dead to rights but he was able to mishmash his gear into a proto-type gadget thing to stop her. In this ep, we see Ivy is held in like a stasis chamber where she can't use her pheremones or get access to any plant life. Ep 4 - Strange watches security feed in his office of Two-Face's cell. Batman (off-screen) has come back to Arkham sans new inmate just to talk to Two-Face. The conversation doesn't go well, but Strange has no audio either because the copy he procurred doesn't have it or Arkham facilities are lacking it doesn't matter. He turns off the feed and goes to interview Killer Croc. Here we learn that Batman comes across as more than a man, as a myth, a terrible legend of the night. He can go toe to toe with a being as massive and strong as Killer Croc and still emerge victorious. Maybe we learn a little about the Batfamily and see who was helping Batman at this stage. Either way, Batman should start to feel less like a person and more like a supernatural myth despite what Strange can see with his own eyes. Croc's cell should be heavy, thick chains everywhere, lots of potential for easy violence against Croc in case something goes wrong, etc. Croc should also just be large, like Arkham Asylum game large. Ep 5 - Strange interviews Scarecrow. Scarecrow is pissed. He can't reconcile not being able to defeat Batman. How is it possible for a man that obviously psychologically damaged to not feel fear? How can such a man move forward every day? Scarecrow should teach us of Batman's resilience and unending determination, adding to the mythical vibes. His cell should be littered with notes about how to make a stronger fear toxin and drawings on the walls of equations and titrations and such. At the end of the episode, Strange should review data he has on Harvey Dent, along with lots of pictures of Harvey and Bruce Wayne hanging out at fundraisers and such as well as a few photos of Batman talking to Gordon and Harvey on rooftops or something. Ep 6 - This episode should do justice to the Heart of Ice story, I think as Strange interviews Freeze in his prison cooler. Strange should ask leading questions, poking and prodding at Freeze to try and provoke him to anger towards Batman, but Freeze can't do it. Much like the beach scene with Zuko, Freeze should explode with rage, but directed only towards himself. We should learn here that despite how terrfying and determined Batman, he is not without mercy. We should learn that Batman stood on the edge of letting Freeze go rather than capturing him because they understood each other and that it was Freeze who allowed himself to be caught. Ep 7 - This is the Joker episode. Sharp has allowed Strange to interview Joker under very specific parameters. This is the only episode filmed in an interrogation room. We don't get to see Joker's cell at all under the insinuation that nobody should ever be privy to what Joker's done in his cell. Joker is also like the second most recently captured inmate at Arkham, but has been there like a dozen times before and always managed to escape. There should be lots of cameras in the room and guards posted around the edges with more outside, but everyone should feel nervous. Then Strange should interview Joker. This would have to be written by someone better than me to really capture how the two almost hammer away at each other in Strange's attempt to learn what Joker knows about Batman. Joker, for his part, should be legitmately hilarious in his evasions while coyly hinting that he does in fact know a great deal about Batman. This is where we learn how long Joker and Batman have been playing their game and how much Joker sees Batman as an equal, an opposite, a friend. At the end of the episode, Sharp should talk to Strange and say that Two-Face has requested a meeting to try and work through his trauma. Sharp clearly doesn't like it (for whatever reason) but allows the meeting to take place. Ep 8 - Strange finally gets to sit down with Two-Face. This ep should occur in Strange's office with the two sitting in comfortable chairs across from each other. The discussion should start with Strange talking to Two-Face, but as Strange probes deeper, he eventually starts talking to Harvey. Once he has Harvey, Strange goes for gold and tries to glean everything he can from the man about Batman. Harvey and Two-Face hate Batman, but Harvey also hates Two-Face and vice versa. The two personas should attack one another verbally while Strange questions them and we should learn that that Harvey was never really right in the head and that his villainous turn was inevitable. We should also learn, from conversations Harvey had with Bruce Wayne, that Wayne seemed to know things no self-respecting billionare playboy philanthropist should know about Gotham's crimminal underworld. And that's where Strange aburptly ends the interview, having desperately scribbled one final note in his notebook. Two-Face is forced to leave, confused because he got no help at all. Then we finally get to see Strange's notebook and it is not the neat, tight script handwriting of a man in control but rather an almost lunatic level of scribbling and angry writing about Batman and even a drawing of Batman as Strange flips through the book to confrim his final note Batman = Bruce Wayne? Then Strange should get up, go to one of his many bookshelves, and press a hidden button. The bookshelf moves aside to reveal an almost exact replica Batsuit on a mannequin. Strange should reach out and touch the blank, lipless face beneath the mask and whisper "Bruce...Wayne...how nice to see your true face."
I wanted to mention that the show should take inspiration from “Almost Got ‘Im” and the comic miniseries called “Joker’s Asylum.” That comic acts like an anthology of sorts with The Joker telling the backstories of certain inmates like he was The Crypytkeeper from Tales from the Crypt.
A "four of a kind" (comic)/ "Almost got 'im" Arkham series sounds like such an awesome introduction to DCU Batman and his rogues gallery more so than an Arkham Asylum comic adaptation
As other ppl have commented, for the Arkham show, they could have Hugo Strange, in his quest to determine who the Batman is and how to defeat him, is interviewing inmates to see if he can learn anything that the myths and legends of Gotham leave out. With this, they could set up Strange as a potential villain and a big threat to the Batman as well as establish where Batman is in his career. For example, who has he caught already? Joker? Croc? Freeze? Zsaas? Has Harvey already turned into Two-Face? And across the episodes they could go from more D and C list villains who have little to no relationship with Batman to villians like Joker and Two-Face who know him more intimately. It would actually be cool if by the end of the show, Strange is sitting with Two-Face and using his account of turning into Two-Face and fighting Batman, Strange deduces that Batman is Bruce Wayne. Then, if they really wanted to go ham for no reason, Strange could contact Bane or somebody and tell him Batman's identity.
It'd be cool if the finale to the Arkham was a huge breakout. Build how dangerous and deranged all the rogues are over the course of the 6-8 episodes, culminating in the Joker busting out or breaking in to free the rogues and cause as much chaos in the city as possible. #ChristmaswiththeJoker
What they could do if they go down the “Rogue’s Gallery’s Memory” route is have the memories be animated but characters be live action. That way they can have the Bat Family be present but silent without having to announce casting them. This will also reinforce James Gunn’s idea in having everything be cohesive & it will separate DCU from Marvel.
Before I say what I want the Superman suit to look like, I'd like to say that I'm honestly just really excited for the movie and would be happy with anything they do for the suit design. That being said, this is what I would like to see: - no trunks. I'm just not a huge fan of them, never have been. - no symbol on the cape. I know a lot of ppl think its iconic, but personally, I think it looks silly. We know he's superman, his cape doesn't need to tell us - I'd like a big symbol on the chest. I realize this feels antithetical to my point about the cape, but the chest emblem is cool and needs to be big and bold - I think he'd look cool with a collar like in New 52. After seeing it in the Batman, I think it would work for Supes too. - everything else can be pretty standard
In Arkham talking to their psychiatrist in one episode. Or in Arkham sitting down planning a escape in an other. Each episode from a different pov and unique, interesting situation and part of Arkham. Universe fully explored and developed. The rouges can go into a fear induced or rage filled flashback each time talking about how Batman got them their. And each episode, either Jim, Barb, Dick, Damion, Jason or Bruce can show up to foil whatever hi-jinx they are getting into.
I love the idea. Everything should be from the rouge’s perspective while in Arkham. A flashback of a encounter with Bats & family from their pov. Except 95% of it should be in Arkham, and flashback of a heist or crime from their perspective. Only to show Batfamily tactics from the criminal perspective. You can get the horror vibe not only from Arkham, but from someone like Mad Hatter being hunted by a shadowy caped crusader. It may be tough to get that many characters committed and fleshed out where they will be big screen capable as well too!
Re Mikkel's comments - that was a big missed opportunity with Nolan's Batman... at the end of Batman Begins we see Arkham escapees seeing Batman as a firey demon... they should have used that in the Dark Knight and had criminals talking about Batman as if he was some kind of monster
I think the Arkham show will be dif then anyones thinking , it’ll prob have original characters in the asylum dealing with the patients until something big happens and maybe they all riot or they get broken out somehow, maybe even leading into the brave and the bold movie
Love the idea of starting from scratch. Love first film will be a SUPERMAN because he is the quintessential Super HERO. A positive hero, not a dark knight. And just keep it going. Build up to JUSTICE LEAGUE and TITANS. I'm excited.
#christmaswiththejoker I would love to see them do a green arrow project, I really loved Stephen Amell’s portrayal of Oliver Queen, but I hated what they did with his character. Sending him to prison and taking his kid away, then giving him a kid and killing him TWICE. He deserved so much better than what the CW did to him. I’m still not over it.
What if the Arkham series is a prequel for Batman brave and the bold? Like they all break out at the end and Batman and Robin have to hunt them all down one by one as father and son
On Joker... I think it would be over-saturation to feature him heavily on the Arkham series. Within the DC media he has been the de facto villain - 1989 Jack Nicholoson Joker, Animated Series Joker, Health Ledger Joker, hinted/alluded to a lot on Gotham, two Joker movies by that point, and Jared Leto Joker. It doesn't matter if if DCEU or DCU or Burton, Animated, Nolan, Snyder or whomever. NONE of that matters. What matters is that the public has been given Joker ALOT. GREAT character, but he's been done to death.
That would be a dope ending!! It would set up why batman could be very cautious about getting a new robin in the form of damian , and set up why he might not want to train him at first. If they tell us Joker just killed Jason it would set up batmans arch for brave in the bold, in that he would start out in a much darker place, but where in the comics Timm would step in and be the new robin, here it would be damian
#ChristmaswiththeJoker Great video Boba, im getting super hyped for all these news and i'm so happy that Reeves will be involved with the DCU Batman. I actually was already on many occasions imagining what could Reeves do with a separate Batverse which is full on fantastical. So i kinda got my wish. Of course i absolutely adore the grounded Battinson universe but this just opens so much more possibilities.
The Question and the Spector 👍👍. But old the OG Question not Montoya.. And my No 1 Ted Kord the 2nd Blue Beetle which would work with both the JSL and Booster Gold, And for laughs you need a OG Green Arrow as most of the time he is taking the Piss out out Batman just because your rich Bruce, You have a Bat jet " I have an Arrow jet " 😂. And something I have always wondered just because your in Arkham do's not mean you can't be pulling all the strings and just sit in safety and enjoy and watch .
24:11 Definitely the question I'm surprised. They didn't make him a show. In the dceu. I would do it like a kind of detective show in the Style of law and order/ncis They don't have to do it this way but it would make it interesting Or like sherlock holmes
43:25 Haha! What they should do with DCU Joker is have him disappear for a long time. Reference Joker in the Arkham series. We could get a idea of what this Joker is like by stories from the inmates or guards in Arkham. Maybe, they do something like Death of the Family story, when we do see Joker? Joker makes a big comeback and targets the Bat-Family. Joker thinks Batman having a family he's built over the years is making him weak.
What if it’s a different actor portraying Batman in each episode, depending on the villain who is telling the story? Not just with Batman’s age, but with the villain’s perception of him? This way we wouldn’t see the “real” Batman until the movie.
I was just thinking this! It's like that other batman TAS episode where some children go around telling each their story of how they imagine the batman to be, and they end up showing different comic-book iterations of him in each their own unique style. So good of a concept, it would be perfect for including batman without having a dedicated actor yet.
I for one an extremely excited for this new chapter of DC content. I do hope they reconsider keeping Robert Pattinson as the Batman beyond the Matt Reeves movies. It would also be great if they could maybe use some of the Arrowverse actors in roles, especially Matt Ryan. To me, he is leaps and bounds a better Constantine than Keanu was. Losing the film actors from their respective roles makes total sense as that will confuse the average film goer if they're not die-hard DC fans unless they look totally different like Jason Momoa would as the Main Man. #ChristmasWithTheJoker
Can't wait to see this universe, but I was wondering what big(JL) storyline do you want to see get tackled and what big villain? Great videos Boba, you're the man. #ChristmasWithTheJoker
I’ve been Reading Ram V’s Detective Comics which read like a Supernatural Horror and the Storyline involves Ra’s Al Ghul, his Nation and the history Of Gotham, It would be Interesting if James Gunn incorporate’s Ram V’s Storyline into ‘The Brave and the Bold’ 🦇 🦇 🦇
I really and truly hope that DC is paying attention to what is going on at Marvel with all their TV shows. General audiences have limited free time in their lives. Very few people want to devote it ALL to one company. Don’t overstay your welcome. Don’t make people do homework before they can enjoy a movie. An Arkham show sounds cool, but don’t make me feel like I have to watch it in order to enjoy The Batman II, otherwise I might end up skipping both. Expand that concept to your entire cinematic universe and I might tune out altogether. Feige himself has recently said Marvel are going to shift their focus to quality over quantity. Crazy to me that a company that successful would need to lose half their audience to learn that lesson.
Hello there! There’s so many good ideas, but I hope Titans and Green Arrow are high on the list. Also, it would be awesome to see a Zatanna project. Thanks for the content, Boba. Hope you had a great Christmas and see you next year! 😉 #christmaswiththejoker
@@BlueDaisy33 ehh. TAS Batman was tonally different than everything else in the animated universe and it worked because Batman should tonally be different than everyone else IMO.
@@martinwalker2501 the thing is Matt Reeves Batman is trying for realism while that isn’t the vibe the DCU seems to want. TAS Batman was tonally different but it was still fantastical
If I was going to run the dcu... I would mark Superman Legacy as a big event with Braniac invading and that being the DCU version of starwars "BBY" or "ABY" let's call it Before Brainiac and After Braniac Anything that takes place before would be animated. Anything after would be live action. Then you could go back and do a in universe animated batman series or JLA series or even a animated superman series b4 the movie happens.
Hey boba love your videos man, if james gunn would want a flash in the one of the dcu projects i think it should be wally instead of barry, not that i have anything against barry allen as the flash,
Imagine they start the first scene in Batman: Brave & Bold with the Death in the family? With Jasons death that leads to Damian being introduced as the Robin to take his place? It could follow up with Barbra & Dick already be at their prime as Batgirl/Oracle and Nightwing all coming together to help Bruce. The main villain could be the Court of Owls or even the League of Assassins. There are so many ways this Batman universe could go. What are your thoughts?
This would eliminate Tim altogether since he was the one who became Robin after Jason died. Eliminating Tim wouldn’t be good as he is important to Bruce taking on more robins after Jason and how he became Robin as the first one to volunteer and discover Batman’s identity on his own is also important in Batman lore
Is there really debate or confusion on if this is a hard or soft reboot? 1. The entire media universe has already been renamed. 2. The head of DCU is new, along with his team of collaborators. 3. The two tentpoles characters who are the face of DC, far above all other characters are both confirmed to be recast. 4. No major storylines are continuing. 5. The majority of the shows have ended. 6. Gunn has made multiple statement of issues related to the old world, and how his approach to the new world differs. This relates to how business and storytelling is approached.
If they do do an origin story for Oliver Queen, how would they fit in Roy Harper as Speedy in that time frame sense he was a founding member of the Titans along side Dick Grayson who is Nightwing by the Brave & the Bold time?
i am 100% sure matt reeves will be helming alot of DCU batman related stuff but he wont bue doeing brave and the bold that goes to Andy M. plus i wouldnt be surprised if after superman legacy for chapter 2 , james gunn will be directing all the big major event movies like justice league and more
I think Reeves role in yhe DCU will be similar to Safran's role in the DCEU. He'll be a prolific producer that has his hands in their "darker" toned stories. Safran was kind of the opposite in that he was a producer on the DCEU's "lighter" toned movies.
The only way it works for me with Peacemaker is if there’s an in story reason for them to cross over to the DCU earth then so be it But if Season 2 is just in the DCU then no I can’t go for that.
Since james gunn made the suicide sqaud, will he keep all the actors just like peacemaker? Like margot robbie coming back as harley quinn or idris alba coming back as blootsport?
You can even have Jason Todd, having existed in the DCU and died only 1 or 2 years in as robin and that would make Bruce less accepting of a new robin even tho Damian wants to help. AND the series FINALE could be the Joker talking about Death In The Family or even The Killing Joke but joker survived and Batgirl is paralyzed and now goes as Oracle
I think the opposite. I think that Batman is going to want so much to work of Damian beacuse The death of Jason. He will think that by working with Damian, he will to make up for what happened to Jason. Plus, I want Under Tha red Hood. This Story and Grant Morrison Run on Batman are great for a movie that introduce Batfamily for the first time.
Hey boba, do you think we will get a justice league movie in chapter 1 of the dcu or maybe In chapter 2 and if we do, who do you want to be the main villain of the justice league DCU movie and do you think cyborg will be a justice league member or a teen titans member in this new universe, would love to know your thoughts
Boba, what story do you think The Batman Part II will probably adapt? Do you think its going to pull some story stuff from Comics? Or do you think its going to be completely original?
An hour DCU Discussion vid is peak boba content. Also thanks for answering my question man🙏🏻
I think if we get Joker it is the perfect time to cast Willem Defoe.
That’s the best idea I’ve heard so far for the show
@@waisdelan Thanks bro.

I really love listening to your show.. i love DC and im glad you’re also excited for the upcoming DC slate

You don't even have to hear it from Matt Reeves.
thanks for the videos Boba, a lot happened this year. looking forward to your vids in 2024! best wishes!
The Batsuit in the thumbnail is perfect
I am hoping so much news of DCU this year lile 3 times more then previous year
If DCU's Batfamily follows the timeline the comics, then I'd really like to have a TV series to chronicle the origins of its members.
#ChristmasWithTheJoker
Charlie Hunnam would have been a cool choice for Green Arrow. Good discussion video.
If Gunn wants to embrace different styles and directors imagine a few episodes of the Arkham Series directed by Andy Muschietti or Mike Flanagan basing an episode on 1989's A Serious House on Serious Earth.
Great video and happy new years Boba!
I don’t know but I can’t see her being in it if we don’t get Jon Kent
@@BlueDaisy33 How does Jonathan Kent fit in with Wonder Woman?
Always look forward to seeing a Boba video in feed! Will save this for my walk to the gym tomorrow 👌
I want to see The Question, Specter Phantom Stranger, and Constantine very badly
I would prefer more practical effects Cyborg (similar to Doom Patrol) over fully CGI suit as we saw in Justice League
@@muchanic i would as well, and james gunn tends to do practically effects as a first choice anyway, so that seems likely
I love the idea of each character in the Arkham show getting an episode explaining their run-ins with Batman, and I think it would be cool if these talks were prompted to by Harleen quinzel as a psychiatrist, with the last episode being her listening in on joker and really understanding and connecting with him, and maybe (prison break) but I'm not sure that could lead into brave and the bold starting with Batman dealing with all of his villains loose again before Damian shows up
Merry Christmas with the Joker. Hope you had a great one Boba
Christmas with the Joker!!!
I wanted to mention that the show should take inspiration from “Almost Got ‘Im” and the comic miniseries called “Joker’s Asylum.”
That comic acts like an anthology of sorts with The Joker telling the backstories of certain inmates like he was The Crypytkeeper from Tales from the Crypt.
I don’t understand why people are confused about the Batman thing
Excellent merry Christmas dude 👍
A "four of a kind" (comic)/ "Almost got 'im" Arkham series sounds like such an awesome introduction to DCU Batman and his rogues gallery more so than an Arkham Asylum comic adaptation
I hope that the matt reeves arkam series includes professor pyg amygdala Humpty Dumpty zsasz ragdoll and more kinda obscure villians like them
As other ppl have commented, for the Arkham show, they could have Hugo Strange, in his quest to determine who the Batman is and how to defeat him, is interviewing inmates to see if he can learn anything that the myths and legends of Gotham leave out.
Yes Boba coming in clutch! Last vid of 2023?
Yup, another new video coming on the 1st :)
Watch strangers from hell, a Korean show, i think it comes pretty close to what you have described
That being said, this is what I would like to see:
- no trunks. I'm just not a huge fan of them, never have been.
- no symbol on the cape. I know a lot of ppl think its iconic, but personally, I think it looks silly. We know he's superman, his cape doesn't need to tell us
- I'd like a big symbol on the chest. I realize this feels antithetical to my point about the cape, but the chest emblem is cool and needs to be big and bold
- I think he'd look cool with a collar like in New 52. After seeing it in the Batman, I think it would work for Supes too.
- everything else can be pretty standard
LOVED the length of this video! Super enjoyed it and how it went over so many topics #christmaswithjoker
32:30 Yeah, I have to go look him up. He looks like the comic book version of him. He would definitely make a great choice
My conspiracy theory is The Batman character is the DCU Batman, just want The Batman stories to stay isolated until the DCU takes off 😈
Speaking of a detective story, it would be cool if Gunn reintroduced Watchmen and Matt produced it or directed.
Still hoping to see Killer Croc in The Batman pt. 2 or 3
I love the idea.
1:11 what is the music in the background?
I think the Arkham show will be dif then anyones thinking , it’ll prob have original characters in the asylum dealing with the patients until something big happens and maybe they all riot or they get broken out somehow, maybe even leading into the brave and the bold movie
Love the idea of starting from scratch. Love first film will be a SUPERMAN because he is the quintessential Super HERO. A positive hero, not a dark knight. And just keep it going. Build up to JUSTICE LEAGUE and TITANS. I'm excited.
#christmaswiththejoker
I would love to see them do a green arrow project, I really loved Stephen Amell’s portrayal of Oliver Queen, but I hated what they did with his character. Sending him to prison and taking his kid away, then giving him a kid and killing him TWICE. He deserved so much better than what the CW did to him. I’m still not over it.

#Christmas with the Joker
What if the Arkham series is a prequel for Batman brave and the bold? Like they all break out at the end and Batman and Robin have to hunt them all down one by one as father and son
I need some type of information on the green lantern series. I’ve been waiting since like 2020. ‼️😤
And this was announced before james Gunn even took over
I wish they’d end the Arkham show with him bringing Joker in after returning to gotham right after Jason died.
@@JD_1776 my sentiments exactly
@@theFrozen0ne this is my fave idea from this whole vid

I love marvel don't get me wrong, but I believe this is the fall of marvel & rise of DC
I'm just excited about the supergirl casting for superman legacy can't wait to see who they pick
Hope James Gunn sees all this
I honestly think batman's first appearance NEEDS to be a dramatic entrance. Some goons are soiling themselves.
It’s simple Pattison is Dcu Batman no need for 2
Can't wait to see this universe, but I was wondering what big(JL) storyline do you want to see get tackled and what big villain? Great videos Boba, you're the man. #ChristmasWithTheJoker
I'd like for the the voice actors for the past animated series that we're all familiar with to have small roles in these movies.
I’ve been Reading Ram V’s Detective Comics which read like a Supernatural Horror and the Storyline involves Ra’s Al Ghul, his Nation and the history Of Gotham,
It would be Interesting if James Gunn incorporate’s Ram V’s Storyline into ‘The Brave and the Bold’ 🦇 🦇 🦇
36:41 thats kinda thinking i dont like joker beign king main etc, he is just one of them that i what want.
Great video Boba 👏🏾
#Christmaswiththejoker
I would Hope that Matt Reeve And Ram V work together to help World Build the DCU Batman 🖤 🦇 🎥 🍿
#christmas with the joker, i would love to see charlie hanum as the green arrow
I think the question should be it's own thing like the batman
How much simpler would all this be if they decided to change the Damien Wayne plot line and have Pattinson be the DCEU Batman?
It would be easier for Pattinson to be the new DCU Batman but Matt Reeves wants his Batman to be its own thing
The tone of Matt Reeves Batman seems to be different from what they are going in the DCU
@BlueDaisy33 - tone doesn’t really matter in comic book stuff - each character is different and from different worlds entirely.
I'd like to see a jailbreak type show with the arkham villains.
If I was going to run the dcu... I would mark Superman Legacy as a big event with Braniac invading and that being the DCU version of starwars "BBY" or "ABY" let's call it Before Brainiac and After Braniac
Anything that takes place before would be animated. Anything after would be live action. Then you could go back and do a in universe animated batman series or JLA series or even a animated superman series b4 the movie happens.
I would love to see The Question uncovering The Court of Owls
The Question with Huntress is what I'm hoping for
Hey boba love your videos man, if james gunn would want a flash in the one of the dcu projects i think it should be wally instead of barry, not that i have anything against barry allen as the flash,
Imagine they start the first scene in Batman: Brave & Bold with the Death in the family?
The only way it works for me with Peacemaker is if there’s an in story reason for them to cross over to the DCU earth then so be it
But if Season 2 is just in the DCU then no I can’t go for that.
Poor Tim is always forgotten 😢
Krypton is Not Skipped for Superman Legacy
Boba, what story do you think The Batman Part II will probably adapt? Do you think its going to pull some story stuff from Comics? Or do you think its going to be completely original?
I would have the doctor doing the rounds at Arkham is Harleen quinzel
