That's exactly what I told the owner of the truck when I got in
Why does it feel so comfortable being in this truck when it's raining hearing the sound of the rain hitting the body calming me down after a stressful day and just making me forget about everything and relaxing just feeling like I'm safe it's cozy and it just feels right

Not my favorite decade for Ford , but I’m a little older. I can definitely appreciate that it is as clean as they come. I owned a 74 F100 that I put a 300 straight six out of an 84 model into, 3 on the tree, loved that truck. Had another 74 with an automatic, 302, and AC. I purchased a 94 F-250 with the 5 speed manual and 7.3L power stroke in 2004. I bought it with a lift and 36” tires on it. Hands down my favorite vehicle to date. It was easy for me to work on. I was a contractor at the time and when 2008 hit and I couldn’t find work that paid well I had to call the lender and tell them to come pick up the truck. It was a sad day. I have a 2019 Honda Accord and wouldn’t dare try to work on it. I’m on the hunt for a truck now as a second vehicle and was looking at 2010-2015 trucks, but this video is pushing me to look at 90s, thank you.

That truck should also have the same recall for the cruise control switch like the panther platform. That is the exact switch that started it all. The first recall was for the switches with the red connector. I would look into that. It would be a crying shame to see it burn to the ground. Trust me I did a lot of research on that recall about 2 months ago when I bought my 97 town car.

They all slam into reverse , I’ve had 2 in my truck and they both did that, if it does a second pause when you shift then get a “ thud-ink” sound and feel it , I’d say it’s normal, unless your overheating or slipping gear you should be fine, if it’s slamming all gears then I’m pretty sure you just might need a new valve body

Only letting it go because I bought a ‘95 F150 Supercab with 55,800 miles two days ago. Drove it 265 miles from the place I bought it. Originally ordered by the guy’s mom who sadly passed away last year. 5.0, auto, XLT, RWD. No receiver hitch. Bed looks like it was never used. Absolutely rust free. I worked at a Ford dealer starting back in 98, when these trucks were everywhere yet. Oddly I don’t remember really doing much of anything majorly mechanical as far as repairs. On these trucks. Just basic stuff like ball joints, u joints belts hoses, plugs wires , caps rotors, fuel pressure regulators etc. . Back in a time where most of the major engine repair were head gasket repairs on the 3.8 motors in the windstars, taurus, or thunderbirds. I remember when we would do a pcm reflash we still used the old blue Ford authorized modification ID cards under the hoods. Damn I miss those days. I didn’t even have any gray hair than lol.

Nobody was worried about getting 12 mpg in their 351. Ford didn't do us a favor with their Triton engines either, still gas hogs and put in an ugly body style from 97-03. Even then there was problems, I waited until '05 to switch and still more problems with the 5.4. I'm happy with the 3.5 EcoBoost now. Great looks and fuel economy. ✌

Fellow 9th gen owner with a 93 f150 5.0 e4od 2wd. Nice truck brother! I picked it up for $300 claimed it had bad rings and injectors. Sat under a shed for 8 years. Had 104,839 miles on it when I got it running with only a starter rebuild, spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel tank and sending unit, and numerous other smaller things not worth mentioning. Now I have 3 years and 121,815 miles on it. I have used this truck for a truck too but it’s still clean. Only thing I’m not proud of on it is the trailer brake connector and controller wiring I done in a emergency. But it’s hauled, towed, and been on road trips since I got her back into commission. Really clean body on it and VERY clean underneath nothing but light surface rust on the frame/exhaust. Looks immaculate could eat off it. I only have one major issue with it, the oil pan gasket was so old and dried up that it blew out just enough to cause a small oil leak on the drivers side right beside the I-beam. Been a very good loyal truck, I’ve had way more issues with my ‘17 Ford Fusion with 80k miles on it. Unfortunately fuel prices are going up and it’s going to be parked until I need to move the travel trailer or lawnmower trailer. I love driving it though.

I bought my '95 F150XLT in '99 with 50k miles. 302, 5-speed short bed, 2 wheel drive. Got into a wreck in '08 thanks to a dumb broad who was high and ran a red light. Let it sit for 11 years and decided to restore it in 2019. Spent a fortune getting it back on the road but it was worth it. Love that truck and I'll keep it until they plant me.

That twink has a great truck .. keep as is i found one with a 460 manual transmission .. I replaced all 3 brake hoses (rubber ) changed out calipers
And wheel cylinders master cylinder .. and all hoses and belts thermostat used wp lube to protect cooling system .. marvel mystery oil in fuel
Truck is a 4x4 factory lift . (I was told 2 inch ) used only to pull Airstream. Bought at same time. Cat converter removed rear tank replaced
Truck now has 36 k original miles .. better than new truck ... great video thanks

Beautiful truck, the enemy here is rust. This is when a truck was a truck, and truck owners needed a truck. Now everybody drives a truck, never put more than groceries in the back. Always been a Ford truck guy, 78 F150 Ranger, first and only new vehicle 89 Ranger XLT 4x4, 94 Explorer 4x4, 4 Bronco 2 4x4s (still have my 88 Eddie Bauer, and my first 85(parts), 2003 F150 4x4 still my daily driver. With the price of new trucks today, more and more it makes sense to maintain an old one!

Wish i never sold it, bought it for $1000 in 2007 due to a bad miss (plug wires) ran it in AK till 2016 no issues. Had to sell for the move to HI. ( did pass on the good price to a buddy $1000) Still kicking myself for not shipping it.

I had an all original 95 f150 5 years ago with the 302 in it regular cab 2wd. Only had 67500 on it when I sold it. I gave it away for 3500 dollars to a guy that needed a truck. I don't miss it because I enjoyed it while I had it. Very dependable truck though. Hopefully my 2019 f150 regular cab 4x4 will last just as long. I only have 10500 miles on it after owning it now for 15 months. I don't drive it often. But it's a solid truck so far. Hopefully I am blessed to have it decades like the 95 I had with no issues.

For a few months, I had a really beat up '95 F-150. I really liked it, but it wasn't well taken care-of and falling apart. Got $500 out of it and bought a '97 Ranger with a 5-speed that was much better taken care of for $700. I've fixed it up and now it's my favorite little thing. Sadly thinking i can't keep up on my 88' F150. 4x4 with straight six, HD, package all electric with custom capt. seats with 91,000 miles. Had 70's F250's that struggled to haul a cord of wood and this one does it like nothing. 4 low and granny gear can pull stumps out of the ground. Has A.C., cruise control with undercoating just coming off and only rust is bottom of driver door with little showing in rear wells. Amazing truck and love the diehard straight sixes and amazing gas for all the trucks can do.

Beautiful truck, solid, tough and reliable! Back when trucks were trucks and built to last. The 80’s-90’s Ford and Chevy pickups were so reliable and lasted pretty much forever with basic maintenance. None of this overly complex electronics to wear out and cause CEL and all kinds of other issues.
The steel and sheetmetal was thick back then too, the doors, hoods, tail gates, beds, all felt and were much sturdier and could take punishment. All the new trucks are garbage quality with plastic door handles and thin ass gauge sheetmetal and flimsy materials.
I’m sorry but 4 cylinder turbos should not be in any truck that weighs almost 6,000lbs and possibly pulling trailers and expect to be reliable and last hundreds of thousands of miles. It’s just not possible. Excessive heat destroys everything over time, and 4 banger turbos are the worst at self destructing when pushed to its limits.
Give me a good ole NA V8 that’s smooth as butter and isn’t so stressed when it comes time to haul a bunch of stuff. Sure gas mileage won’t be so great but at least the engine will last forever.
Long live the V8 and old school engineering!!

I had the same year F150 Eddie Bauer edition. It was a really nice truck. The only issues with trucks of this vintage were the locking hubs on the four wheel drive. Replaced mine at 70,000 miles. The mechanic told me that it was a common thing with F150s back then. Mine had the 5.0 in it which was under powered and was the only reason I ended up selling it. If it had the bigger V8 I would probably still have it. Great truck!

Mine is a 87 with 351w carburetor single cab short bed red on white.I looked on Craigslist a long time to find it.
Many of them were rust buckets. Many were over priced.
She is not perfect, but I have done all the rebuild work.
Deleted all pollution system upgraded heads, intake, headers, exhaust, cam, bored .040, turned crank. All new brakes etc.Put on a roll pan bumper and bucket seats.I have put in about $9,000 which includes new rims and tires plus the drag tires I use at the strip.
She has a 3.90 gear and has surprised many stock Mustang owners when she gets a 3 or 4 truck length lead on them.Oh by the way that c6 has been gone Thu and upgraded with shift kit and servo and the sidewinder floor shifter makes shifting bullet proof.

I have almost the same truck. Mine is a 94 F250 tho, same engine, love it!!!! Mine has 300k miles on it tho but still doesn’t have a speck of rust! Front/rear fuel tanks, I love these trucks!!!! I am starting to have a couple issues with it and would love to see if you can give me a few ideas on which direction to go to fix it. It’s running super rich, idles fine but doesn’t have a lot of power when you first start accelerating and if you give it too much throttle, it falls on its nose. Engine is solid tho, no knocking, no ticks, etc. blowing a bit of black smoke from running rich. I’d be happy to pay ya a consult fee if you could lead me thru some troubleshooting steps.
Anyways, these trucks are the best! I’m happy putting $10k into mine before I buy something new ever again!
