Nice rig! My dad had an 87 F-150 XLT Lariat 4x4. Two tone red, red interior, lifted 4", 33" all terrains and 15" American Racing Outlaw I rims, washed every single day, and rebuilt roughly every 5 years. Even though it never needed it. Truck ran and drove like a modern car. Despite the lift. It had no body roll. I had high hopes that I would inherit it from my father when I turned 16 as I grew up riding in it everyday. But he sold it to his dad in 2005 to keep insurance from taking it from him, as he had to claim bankruptcy, and my grandfather managed to destroy the truck in less than a year. It was sold in 2012 (I was 14 going on 15, never got to drive it) for $500 to an automotive shop who cut the truck in half, put the motor in something else, and converted the bed to a trailer. The rest is sitting in a scrap yard somewhere. :'( I've been trying to find another one since 2007 that doesn't need extreme work that I can build to match the truck I grew up riding in. And this truck is exactly what I'm looking for. Do you still have it?
Damn dude, l live in Mt Washington. I have a black 1995 F150 with 302 that I am giving to my son this week and I just bought a 1991 F150 4wd extended cab with 351. It is black and has a brand new paint job. I get the truck in 3 days---I'm getting pumped up. It only has 90,000 miles and interior is perfect.
My aunt had this truck it was my uncles as well God if I was 10 years older I would’ve had this baby in my hands but luckily I was only five but at least I remember her truck in my memories God it was a great truck
I have an 89 f150 right now. Its running just as good as yours, me and my dad's next step is going to be painting and putting a clear coat on it. Probably going to keep it red. Just wanted to tell, you have a beauty. Haha, hope mine comes out as good as yours!
I have seen videos of 1987s running and looking good, but no videos of repairing basic c9mponets or addinf after market accessories. This a nic3 truck.
@@TheSlowride81 Yeah huge mistake selling my 90. If I had that now...But I grabbed a 96 F-350 last year. It is an old farm truck I saved from the junkyard. My beloved Fungus-350. Thanks man, I enjoyed the vid!
Slowride81...You have an amazing F150. I am working on a '90 Supercab shortbed 4x4. Based on your video, I will be doing a 2" leveling kit and 31's. I even have the same wheels. Great looking truck!!!
haha my dad has this truck weird thing is it had 2 gas tanks, he said it was a defect or something but he still has his but it doesn't really work anymore something went wrong but nice nice!
I am a huge fan. I have an '88 XL 5.0 4x4 that I currently have to decide whether to keep and start restoring (runs great with occasional maint needed) or to sell. I have some questions. Wheels stock, redone? Tires - 31x10.5r15 or other? Trim rings w/red - where? Front springs brand and model? Paint and stripe - sticker or painted? Thank you for a great example of what a FORD can be!
Wheels are stock, (lots of cleaning) Tires are 31x10.5x15 (some light tire rub on the inside on tight turns),Trim rings are original(the red stripes were gone i tried to repaint them but that was a mess, so i took them to a local sign shop and he cut the stripes from red vinyl and they turned out great, Front springs are from LMC truck parts online (front leveling kit), paint stripe is sticker hope this info helps.
Thanks! pretty much all I need is 2 hub covers, a trim ring and two of 'em with red redone, and I have the same makeup just lacking the new paint and with a couple dents. We'll see what offers I get as I'll be driving it occasionally instead of the '13 just for emotional reasons.
Ive got a completely stock exept the two turn downs on the exhaust, 89 f150 XLT lariat 302 lwb its white has 84,003 miles on it. Im wanting to lift up the rear end since its not 4x4 ill leave the front stock and put 15"x 10" pro comp 88 chrome wheels on it all the way around and put some tires on it I dont know what kind I should get for it ill need some help with that but anyways n ill through on two flowmaster single chambers and then send them out to the rear with 45° angle 3" non rolled chrome tips n maybe keep the same engine in it or should I get me like a 390 and rebuild it whille Im still driving the truck and just rebuild the 390 then take the 302 out n shove the 390 in there or should I take the original 302 n rebuild that??? Or instead of all that I just said what would you personally do with the truck? Or anyone I love opinions be open minded to it I need some opinions lol thanks.
Thanks, no build threads just build them as a hobby........this is my 4th truck all 1988 XLT Lariat 4x4 i do the exact same thing to every one only thing different is the color. i also built a 1979 F350 Super Camper Special it turned out great also....
I have a 91, looks brand new only 72,000 miles on it. Wanting to put the same wheels you have, only 8-lug, what do they call them. You have a sharp ride there.
Wow that truck is absolutely beautiful! Sounds awesome too. It's tough to find those "older" 1/2 or 3/4 tons in that nice of shape and not all hacked up. I might look at an '88 F250 today for $1600. Looks nice in the pics but that mean anything. What kind of mpg's do you get out of the 5.0? I had an '03 F250 crew cab, 8' bed, 4x4, auto with the 5.4 Triton that I couldn't get over 9mpg with.
Nice looking F-150. I've got one similar except it's 2wd and it's red. Hold on to this one, these trucks are hard to find in this good of shape.

I’m in love. Had same truck with same colors . I miss it. 3.73s posi 302 a work horse.

Damn looks like it just came off the show floor
I just bought the same truck yesterday its a 4x4 5.0 V8 with a 5 speed really cool truck!
Not a big fan of the red interior, but DAMN what a beauty!
Best body style ever made.....keep it forever!

Anyways, that's a great looking ride you got there. It's a small world. I'm surprised I haven't seen you driving around
I want a truck just like that in high school
looks and sounds really good!

I have to ask, what cam are you running in your 351w with the flowmaster?
Wait a minute does this thing have a cam? Small bumpity bump
Did you strip this down to the frame and just rebuild it? Also how long did it take you to finish and restore it? Absolute beauty of a truck.
it was not a frame off restore, it takes about six months for me to finish one.
I have a 91, looks brand new only 72,000 miles on it. Wanting to put the same wheels you have, only 8-lug, what do they call them. You have a sharp ride there.
The wheels are Ford factory wheels that came on the truck, im not sure if they make them in a 8 lug pattern.
I’d love to see someone turn this body style into a Lightning, what it would’ve looked like if Ford had made one in this body style
Check out the 1991 f150 on here that was supercharged like a lightning.. there’s a Dyno pull and 1/8 pass video also...I had a lot of fun in that one
Very nice! I have the same model and can't figure out if I have a 302 small block or 351?
I'm plan on looking at getting an 88 or somewhere close to it. Is it troublesome to restore interior? like finding part or anything in that nature?
All interior parts all available from LMC Truck Parts,,,, Go to their website and get a free catalog.
Cool, thanks a bunch!

I've been looking for an 8th gen f150 that's as in good as shape as yours! If you ever think about selling it I'd love to have a shot at it.
