I really like your design. Your instructions are clear and easy to follow. Thank you for this tutorial video!! I'm new to tapestry crochet so I have a question. Why have different bobbins of the same color? Couldn't you use the bobbin you used the first time?
Hi, it is cleaner this way and the next row you will need the yarn strand in the same place. So it is not worth it to carry it and work over it. It also saves yarn this way. This is not a clasic tapestry crochet, you don't work over the yarn strands... maybe do so when you only have a few stitches in between the color changes.

amazing!
Thank you! I'm glad you like it!
I came across your video by searching something else. I am pleased that I give it a look, you are amazing explaining it and you also make this looks so easy 🥰 thank you for sharing your talent 😊
Thank you so much! Glad it was helpful! 😊
I tried it and it turned out amazing it is a very good tutorial and thank you so much for that. I have a question btw. How do we secure and weave in the yarn we cut in the middle of the project? I am like an advanced beginner and i still don’t know how to secure them so some of my peaces came undone and i really wanna know how to secure and weave them.
Hi, I'm so glad you enjoyed the tutorial and that your piece turned out great! 😊 When cutting the yarn I make a double knot and then sew in the ends.

How much yarn did you use?

Idk if you’ll be able to answer or if anyone in the comments can answer but I’m using this technique just on a different design and I have an even amount of stitches so when I started the second row you said that you start with a single crochet and end with a single crochet but I keep starting with a single crochet and end up with a bobble stitch. Will it affect the design???
You need to start with an uneven number of sts, you need that extra st at the end of the row, so you can start and end the row with sc. It will not work other way.
@@MyHobbyisCrochetBlogGot it, Thanks for responding!
@@joannasanchez9848 you're very welcome!

Thank you! Cheers!
These are so beautiful, do you have the patterns in written crochet. I have a lot of problem with c2c but i love the side to side written style.
Thank you Marie! Sure, I have written instructions and crochet graph also for each of my animal blocks. Please see the link in the description box below this video.
Can you tell Mr why you are working double the St's I only do what the chart says it still turns out right
If you are working with this bobble stitch, you should work one row of sc in between. Otherwise it would be much to dense. This is how the bobble sc pattern it's worked. You can try other stitches with the graph. I have a version with the corner to corner hdc. You can also use sc only in rows, but this would also look much sharper if you do 2 sts and 2 rows with sc for each pixel in the graph.
Thanks so much for your tutorial. Can I use this stitch on any graph? I prefer the look of this to the C2C technique and was wondering if it would work?
Hi! Yes, you can use it with any graph, just make sure it won't end up too big!
beautiful. i like it better than c2c which i like too where do you get your pretty hook?
Thank you! My wooden hook is from Furls.
thank you!! please btw what do u do to the strands after you finish?
You're very welcome! For a perfect result, you weave in the ends. Or you can securely knot them and cut the yarn.... this only if the back of the piece can't be seen. You can also add a linning to the back.
Hi I love this, can you use a smaller hook x
Please use the hook size reccomended for the yarn you are using.
Good Day
I was wondering if I want to increase the size of the graph say by 4 would the math work as well...or I'm I better off to do a test swatch Thz L
Hi, yes, that would work good.
Hi can you teach us how to make a graph? I want to do something like that but in different design.
Hi,I have many animal graph designs on my blog, please see the link in the description of the video.
So are you saying there will be one row of single crochet then the next row is same pattern but with bobble stitches?!
Yes, the bobble row will be the same as the sc row, but you will read the chart in reverse, from right to left.
Do you have this crochet pattern in the written pattern of wild life patterns instead of online youtube
Hi Marie! Yes, there are written instructions and also the graph on my blog. Please see the link in the descriprion box below this video.
I dont understand what you mean by an extra stitch in the second row? Do you put two stitches in the last stitch? And do you do this in every row?
No, you don't increase at all!
You need to know with how many chains to start a graph. For this you will double the number of the pixels in a row and add 2 chains more:
1 for the turning chain and 1 for an additional sc st that we will need at the end of the rows, so we can start and end the rows with sc sts and not with a bobble st.
For symmetry and this way it will be easier to add a border later!
@@MyHobbyisCrochetBlog thank you so much!
@@annemaasland3681 you're very welcome!
I created a chart of a very large afghan and I will be doing sc. however I don’t want to double it because it’s more than 200 x 200. How do I do the bobbbles?
Is there a way to bobble without sc in between? Because that would make it bigger.
Hi Tiffany, you would need to alternate one row of sc with one row of boobles. You would need the change your chart and make it smaller.
Sorry i was watiching the other animals and could i be right if i say that the cheetah not the same stitch is like the giraf??
Thank you to share your beautiful pattern xxxx
All my animal designs were first made as corner to corner (c2c) blocks, as part of my Wildlife Graphghan CAL. In this tutorial I'm showing how you can work my animal graphs using the bobble sc stitch. So you can make all the animals using either the bobble st, either the c2c method. Your choice.

Thank you so much for the tutorial!
I tried making a project but had some isssue, my product turned out a little bit slanted. I tried to check if there is anything wrong in the beginning and ending stiches but everything looks just fine for each row. Is it a common isssue and I need to do some blocking to make it perfect square? Or is there any potential mistake I might make? It would help a lot if you can reply. Thank you alottt!
Hi, were your yarns all the same yarn weight? If not, that might be the problem, or the way you change colors, keeping the work tension constant through the project, etc... But with a bit of blocking it should fix.
@@MyHobbyisCrochetBlog Oh, I'll try fixing those. Thank you! Really look forward to your next tutorials 🥰🥰🥰
@@khatuhodang4772 you're very welcome!
This may be a silly question but what happens if I do this left-handed? Do I need to flip it for the design to show (like do all the blue first in the first row)? I've never attempted any graphghan-type projects because I don't know how it works left-handed. This is gorgeous, though and I have a new baby niece I'd love to make this for! Thanks
Hi Laurie! If you are working it the way it is, the girrafe will turn out with the head in the other direction, mirrored. It's nothing wrong. 🙂
Hi, may I know what would happen if we don't double the size and just do the same size as the graph?
I'm asking this because I don't understand why we do 2x and add2
I wrote a detailed post about it on my blog. Please see the link in the description box.
@@MyHobbyisCrochetBlog thank you, ma'am💛
@@umii1926 you're very welcome! 😊
How do I do eagles football logo just the head
Do you have a graph for it? If it is made of many pixel, you would better stick to sc stitches only. Otherwise your crochet piece will turn out very big.
I dod you have a buffalo pattern thanks
Hi, I don't have a video for the buffalo, but I have written instructions and color chart for a Buffalo/Bison C2C Square on my blog. You can find it here: www.myhobbyiscrochet.com/2020/09/buffalo-c2c-square-free-crochet-pattern.html
Can u use ths stitch to crochet letters?
Yes, if you have graphs for the letters.
Does this method work with any picture graph
Hi, yes, it should work with any graph!
Can you also do the bobble Stitch with double crochets
Hi Sandra, sure you can! Your piece will end up much larger using bobbles with dc.

What is the size of the completed square?
Hi, using bobble sc the square, the yarn and hook sizes suggested in the pattern, my square turned out 14.17 inches X 14.17 inches (36 cm x 36 cm)
@@MyHobbyisCrochetBlog thank you for providing the dimensions in centimetres.
Great tutorial and awesome designs. I've already made several of these squares with C2C as well as a pixelated blankets with individual squares for an double bed-sized blanket as a gift.
Kudos!
@@MoonCat49 you're very welcome! I'm so glad you enjoyed my animal blocks!

Only thing I am not understanding is why are you doubling the row count
Because One Bobble
will be actually worked in 2 rows with 2 sts in each row; that means each bobble is made of 4 sts:
In the first row: you’ll work 1 sc crochet in each of next 2 sts
In the 2nd.row: work 1 bobble sc st in next st, then 1 sc in next st
Can this technique be used on any pattern
It could be used for any graph, but it's best for smaller project such as pillows, wall hangers because the stitches produce a heavier, dense project.
Why do you do it with the bobble stitch? Can't you just do single crochet or double crochet and not double the colors
Because the graph comes out very sharp this way and the piece has a lovely texture for pillows or wall hangers. You can also try with sc or dc, but you don't get this sharp image.
Do you have a pattern for a sloth like this one?
Yes, I have a sloth c2c graph that you can use. Just work it in rows, not from corner to corner, the same way I explain in this video tutorial. Check it out here: www.myhobbyiscrochet.com/2019/10/sloth-c2c-square-wildlife-graphghan-cal.html

Wow I take my hat off to you. Amazing work! All those colour changes and yarn colours hanging around my hands would send my anxiety through the roof 😂🙉 definitely way beyond my crochet skills but absolutely love how you're able to do it 😍😍😍
Thank you Natalie! It's not that difficult, but it takes some patience. I prefer the corner to corner version, because it's faster. The end result is very satistying with both techniques. 😊 Maybe someday you'll give them a try using my animal graphs.
Hi, thanks for all the great tutorials and graphs, I was wondering how it will look from the back? Is it supposed to be neat or messy? I didn't carry my yarn? should I?
You can see in my video tutorial above, in the first minutes I'm showing how the back looks like. You should not carry the yarns, but work with bobbins for each color section. This way the back would look pretty also.
@@MyHobbyisCrochetBlog oh I see, I was trying to use less bobbing so I don't end up in a tangled mess 😆 but I guess it worth it if I want a nice back. Thanks again
@@rayoflightgeneral7988 you can use big clothespins for bobins and pin them onto the projects. It will be much easier when turning the rows. No yarn tangle!
