Hey Dan, just wanted to let you know that I learned 50-50s on a round bar because of this video. The two things that helped me out were your tips about putting all of your weight on the rail, and leaning to the side of the rail that you're coming from. Great work, thanks for the good tutorial 🤙
God bless you for having the strength to carry on after being asked, "is that a UA-camr's board?" Oh shit! I've been tempted to go for the round flatty 50-50! Will try it now after seeing homeboy go through the process.
This is actually a great tip, I've been scared of round rails the entire time I've skated - 10ish years on and off - but the way you described the lock in makes so much sense to me. I'm going to remember and try some next time I'm at the park. Stoked seeing him land round rail grinds though :) I need a mentor like you, Dan
NO FKN WAY! Watched this vid 2 days ago... Just got back from a quick session at the local. Always been shit scared of grinding round bars.... "Don't pussyfoot"... that's all I needed to hear.... First try, 50-50 the local flat bar with a down kink. 3rd try, snapped the nose on a board I set up an hour ago... spewing but stoked.... Cheers Dan bro, literally just taught me something i haven't been able to do in 15 years... I can't believe how easy it is to grind a round bar... if you don't pussyfoot all over the place. ( 30y/o just started skating again after 5 years off due to a broken knee)
Watching you coach Christian is honestly super inspiring. I just got comfy with 50-50s on square rails again this weekend, and I'm planning to hit up La Puente for the first time next weekend. Need you there to force me to 50-50 that rail. 😂
bruh same. Just got back from a quick sesh. Our round bar sucks balls... 50-50, shit you not first try. Don't pussyfoot, just commit, you will lock and slide.
20:13 is how I dislocated my elbow and chipped my wrist. My shins somehow hit the rail first. All my weight went to my right hand and my elbow hyper extended out of place.
Skated many rails in the last 38 years. Round is definitely sketchier. Square is flat which allows you to fall asleep and wake up at the end before depature.
I keep watching this video going through the 5050 round rail process, the ones I have landed I'm crosslocked the wrong way like those first couple ones christian did. Been trying for a week and died a couple times and landed like 10 shitty ones. I need to really get my weight on top of the rail, I'm always leaning towards the opposite side of the rail i came from to not fall toeside. Still dying trying to learn this trick, but on ledges I can do it 100 times in a row
Why you gotta make it look so easy, lol. no seriouly i got back on round rails after like 10 years of avoiding them after a injury. Forgot how satisfying it could be. Thanks for the cool viddy bro. Btw what park is that?
Round bar is more about confidence, not thinking flat truck on rail round bar. In my 25 years of skating, I think I have fallen on a 50 or 50/50 round bar a hand full of times. Due to the lock-in. It's a great deal easier than what's peoples heads. I would far rather 50/50 a handrail than a ledge any day. It's just about trying.
But one thing I can't wrap my head around is the fact that you can lock your wheels agains a squared rail too, right? And on a squared rail you get more support from the flatness of the rail. I guess I get the pinch part of it but otherwise I'm lost here. Guess I've never been enough commited. But I think I tried a handrail a long time ago, like 15 years ago, and bailed so fucking hard I developed great fear against round bars.
No lie I watched this last night and landed my first front 50-50 on a round rail this morning (a slight-down rail at that). And then right after that while trying to tweak my kickflips a la your previous video I somehow managed to both land primo AND slip out, and ate absolute shit so now my old body is going to be sore for days. So thank you/fuck you I guess?
This is probably my favorite video you've done. Watching you teach Christian in real time was truly a pleasure! Hope to see more like it.

Bro don't worry too much. From my point of view as a stranger you are very professional. Both in your skating and in your videos.
God bless you for having the strength to carry on after being asked, "is that a UA-camr's board?"

I love that you are always so respectful and nice to the little kids. Never know when one is looking up to ya. Good on you bro!
0:47 😂 Dan leaning in for the kiss 😂

Good timing, tried skating a round rail for the first time yesterday and got dusted
Good on you for trying dude!
Hell yeah go get ur revenge

@@svnbit8408 8.25
@@sebastianrosu8864 I thought he upgraded to 8.5 bc Haley was making fun of him for riding a smaller board 😆
It's rad you teaching people things and then getting feedback from them on how your advice helped them, awesome man.
soooo glad you did this video man. I've been trying to get the courage to learn on rails for the longest
You really are a great teacher AND Grosstradamus. You seriously can call most lands or bails before they even pop or approach
The combination of brutal razzing and complete confidence and support as you teach is *chef's kiss* lol
Dan no bullshit, you're leaving money on the table by not doing a Patreon with trick tutorial videos.
Correct
why tho ?
shh
holy hell youre right! i'd pay
uhh no

masterclass on round rail. Thanks man
These tips are only gained through rigorous skating. Thank you Dan 🙏
Dude the end of this was great. I wish we had stuff like this when i was learning to skate
Recently had foot/ankle surgery and have been skating more flat bar the last couple weeks. Dans videos help even before this video.

Did it! It is way comfier than I expected. Thank you for this video.
damn, Dan's tips are pure gold. Only had front 5050s on round bars but might try other stuff too now
This was so helpful Dan. You taught a 40yo his first non boardslide flatbar trick./g
Dan is the best teacher
This was awesome watching him get that 50/50 so quick and doing it so well. Awesome teacher!
this got me hyped up to try it tomorrow
my local park has a perfect rail but ive never had the balls to lock in with my trucks, only with my board
bruh same. Just got back from a quick sesh. Our round bar sucks balls... 50-50, shit you not first try. Don't pussyfoot, just commit, you will lock and slide.
I love round rails already but this video is awesome very helpful!
I'm trying to learn front smith on round rails and I got smoked yesterday
hey been watching for awhile, you cool peoples. I also appreciate the trick tip also. thanks dan.
Precious tips again! I land better Noseslide thanks to your tips. Thank you Dan!
theres no way i just watched someone learn 50s smiths and feebles a million times quicker than me i need to stop pussyfooting on rails
same bro, im pretty good at ledges but a noob when it comes to skating rails. this tip and video really motivated me
@@manuelsousa8479 yeah bro same, gonna drive a lil extra distance today to skate a round rail
same
Please do it's easier than you think.
I find ledgers much harder . As round bar lock in much better.
you are part of my daily routine dan i love you
Keep doing video dude , much loveeee!!

I just 5050my first diy round rail and this helped alot thanks Dan da man
I want to see a be bluntslide pop into bourdslide on a round rail. Please
I got you fam
dan likes soft little taps, and stuff like that. how cute
I do smith grinds first to warm up my heelside lock for 5050s.
Had to watch that roll at 11:45 a few times over. That was sick
Yeah, Gene Simmons right here learning rail tricks fast as hell.
Watching this after my overconfidence almost sent me to the shadow realm last night 😊
This makes me want to try a round rail so bad but it is still hard to believe that it won't roll off all crazy
Skated many rails in the last 38 years. Round is definitely sketchier. Square is flat which allows you to fall asleep and wake up at the end before depature.
Its the other way around for most people including me. Square ones just dont feel secure to me bc theres less room for movement
Still wish there was a Dan Corrigan pro board😉🤘✌️
Bs recently got as comfy as fs to me it feels great
ngl dans hype makes me wanna not be scared and skate rails in general :')
fucked up my foot real bad practising 50/50s on a round rail, can't skate all summer probably :')
Damn, that new camera upgrade though. 👏🏽👏🏽
Dope 👊🏼💪
I no good at grind on round flat bar but back when I started learning board slides I learned on round rail idk why but was less scary for me
Yo , I’ll be your full time filmer ! Just a couple stipulations !! :))
These revive boards are getting out of hand.
Where are y’all at? Looks like a good as park
Bs 5050 and feeble are my most scary ones to try this is so motivating lol

La Puente park
Yo aiming your back heel is so vital
only watching now because i was busy skating round rails unsafely
Christian got some big ass ears under that hair! Legend Says he can hear a Pube drop in a room full of Pins
Can you do a tutorial on those front side Slappy’s on high ledges?
Those 50s on round got way harder when he slowed down - it's like trying to ride a bike super slow.
I just realized I live 8.5 miles from this park. When you live near orange county/LA theres just so much shit filmed in our area
dam these tips are some solid tips
“Yeah, you just gotta pinch it n sit onnit” 😏 there’s no way to talk about skating n not sound sus
Cali weather just seems ideal. I live in a friggin swamp.
Would it be better to learn 5050s on a rail by locking in on ur heel side or cross lock?
personal preference
That looks like a super fun park
"Not worth the wait, but that was really good."
Right when you say that you're going to teach Christian how to 5050 a round bar it goes to a commercial that says "why waste a hundred nights?"
needed this one dan, crazy thing is the other day i got my first good boardslide and it was fuckin first try at the park
Hell yes
Can we get a front 3 tutorial video?
It’s coming :)
It's always funny no matter what when you hear a grown man say, "peepee." 😆
Where is that skatepark located=?
Dan is skate edutainment
I pulled all the ligaments in my elbow doing this. Purple arm from my armpit to my thumb. This was like 3 months ago. I feel like I need to try again.
Great Rail help bub :$))

Does anybody lock into fs feeble and bs smith heelside? It seems every body does toeside.

How's the crab in Cali compared to home?
why you gotta blink so much tho

Dan if I invest and open a skate school are you gonna teach? Lol
I spent like 4 hours to land my first 50 on a rail and the whole process I didn’t know that I needed to lean back
That’s tough
