The Soviets did not help rebuild Warsaw. It was done by Polish architects and engineers. We are still trying to rebuild individual buildings. The reconstruction of the Saxon Palace and Bruehl Palace is planned. The Soviets built the Palace of Culture and Science in the middle of the city, but to build it 10 years after the war, they demolished many pre-war tenement houses, which the Poles managed to rebuild just after the war.
Yes, that's exactly what our walking tour guide told us! I apologise if that wasn't communicated clearly in the video. As I mentioned earlier, the resilience and spirit of the Polish people have truly impressed us. We admire this country's spirit so much and are excited to explore more of this beautiful land (hopefully sooner rather than later)! Thank you for watching our video and taking the time to comment 😊😊
Soviets steal everything what left after germans devastation and tiefts. Stalin give order to build this gift, but Polish people pay for this pleasure.
The Soviets were literally ruining Polish buildings. And it's not just the districts demolished for Stalin's Palace (currently the Palace of Culture and Science). They destroyed sculptures, stuccos, and bas-reliefs from other surviving buildings. They did it by deceit, tearing them off at night and then announcing that they were falling on people. And many Warsaw buildings are smooth because they tore off everything that was associated with Poland and characterized Poland. Stalin's Palace is a totem driven into the ground of a conquered country. We lost World War II and for us it de facto ended in 1989.
Warsaw, Poland, the best vibe. Most vibrant City, not comparable to any other one, due to its (tragical) History. 3 cities in one, the touristic one, the post--modern one with all skycrapers, and the most authentic one on the right side, which is called Praga (not destroyed during WWII). Get a look at Praski Koneser (Praga), Hala Koszyki, Browary warszawskie, Fabrika Norblin -all these sites have been completely transformed those last years), the parcs (Lazienki, Skaryszewski), the Politechnik building (inside), Pl. Grzyboskwa -where you can find a mix of all styles, which simbolizes very well Warsaw), go to a Milk bar, enjoy polish gastronomy, go to Hala Mirowska (authentic Market), go to Bibliothek and the gardens, next to Elektrownia Powisle (amazing , also recently transformed), take a walk in the Bulwary.....so, enjoy the unic Vibe of the most fascinating european City 🙂
@@sagarandami hahahahaha !!! everybody massing under the Eifel tower or in the Ramblas......why to go to Warsaw, there is nothing to see, it's just a grey and sad comunist City (that's what many people still think about Poland generally)
That’s sheer ignorance! I personally enjoyed Warsaw more than Prague! I loved every bit of it and loved all the stories of Polish resilience! Now, we are thinking of exploring more of Poland! Such an underrated country!
@@sagarandami yes dear Mme, yes...a lot, a lot a lot absolutely beautiful cities, nature (sea, mountains, lakes) to explore and visit ! my opinion is that (here, in Switzerland) out of 10 people, 9 will only focus at so-called sunny countries, like mediterranean countries. The rest of them will think in other way, giving more importance to other aspects. Within these 10 %, belongs Poland. And, even 35 years after the fall of the iron curtain the high majority of the people are not curious and are still going on thinking of Poland in terms of bad "clichés" (comunist, grey, sad, etc etc).... Warsaw is not a city which should be visited just in a 2-days trip, like main of turistic spots; when visiting it, one should know what happened and realize where he put the foots......stunning country, great History, incredibly dynamic country 🙂 thank you for your comments 🙂
One of our favourite city in Europe 😍🇵🇱 Don’t miss the shopping session. They have wonderful collections of cloths and accessories with affordable prices
Bar Gdański - Milk Bar: Polish traditional canteen from PRL(Polish People's Republic, Russias Komunist Satellite State, not par of USSR, during Soviets occupation there was no food so Polish state created milk bars around Poland and contributed some currency towards affordable meals for everyone to keep people "HAPPY") drink in your glass is KOMPOT which is home made usually from boiled fruit and sugar. Public transports in bigger cities are awesome, just remember: buy your ticket and validate it in the bus/tram as you'll get a ticket 😂
Aha! The lady over there tried explaining KOMPOT to us but we could not understand each other! Loved the Milk bar! The food was so good and homemade!! 😋😋
I am glad that you liked my city. It is nice that you delved into some history. Warsaw has been through a lot but it has recovered like the whole nation and is now going like a storm. I encourage you to visit other Polish cities: Krakow, Wroclaw, Gdansk. Best regards
We managed to spend a few days in Krakow but it looks we will have to come to explore of this beautiful country! As you said, there's so much more to Poland and we cannot wait to come back! Thank you for watching our video
Yes!! We learned about that later on! Loved the true Polish spirit and we so were fortunate enough to have witnessed it. Thank you so much for watching our video!
Thank you for watching our video! Honestly, we only met kind and welcoming people in Poland, and we didn’t experience any racism in the places we travelled to. We're grateful for that! However, the only negativity we've encountered has been online 😅
Thank you so much for your kindness! I’m really sorry if you’ve had to go through that kind of experience. I sincerely hope you never have to deal with it again!

Old Town of Warsaw was destroyed by Germans not Nazi...
Thanks for watching our video 😊
Germans/Nazi... who cares?
Back then Nazi were Germans so U can use both...
I think it was our President making a speech in the background 🎉
Omg really?! That was so so cool! We were so pleased to have managed to attend this celebration!

Thank again for stopping by ✌️🏼
Why the background music
Why not?
When you are speaking it disturbing and your voice is not audible clearly
I really doubt that Perogi is really that good… your praises sounded little manufactured
