Confirmed to fix my friend's stick, didn't line up in the thumbstick hole, goes in easier if you put the black ring on after the thumbstick by the way. Overall saved time and thanks a lot!
You made this look WAY easier than it actually was o.O. Even though it took me like 5 minutes to get the thumbstick back in place I'd still rather do this than take apart the whole controller. Something SOMEHOW got under the thumbstick and was causing my stick drift. Little bit of air to clean the analog directly while I moved it up/down/left/right, place thumbstick back, no more stick drift, thanks. ^.^
i will say this, the intructions were really unclear even with the video and most people dont have that tool to align the the stick in the controller to the actual thumbstick because it took me abt 3 tries before i actually got it in right. and there is a possibility of you getting it in but onto the stick. one of the alteratives of using his tool are the hook thing on the back of many tv remotes cause your finger cant fit under there when you actually need it to align. or a very dull pencil because if sharp itll prolly break the stick and leave lead inside your controller. but overall it was somewhat easy but after all it worked for me. and for the other people saying it broke your controller it might be because you were putting the thumbstick IN the direction of the Playstation button while on the video you see he does it AWAY from the button maybe since you were pushing it down so much it broke the controller. but if you do, do this method be careful alot of things could go wrong.
You must be blind if you gonna tell me that he pushed that thumbstick in "away" direction of ps button. He literally moved it from left to right side so literally in a direction of the ps button
It’s nice that could change the ring too. When I played on my ps3 back in the day the ring of the stick would be sanded away and the analogue stick would look like a tree if a mountain man stopped halfway of chopping it down.
Can confirm this works like a charm. Just buy the red tool also, makes it waay easier. Personally I found it easier to put the black ring back on after changing the stick, but that just my opinion. Overall thumbs up!

Этот способ экономит кучу времени в отличии от варианта с полным разбором. Запихать новый стик в отверстие оказалость немного сложнее, мне показалось проще вставить сначала стик потом уже поставить кольцо. Но все же стоит предупредить, что этот способ точно не для рукожопов😅. Спасибо, что поделились им.
People... idk I've been taking apart and building controllers for years, and granted I haven't done this but it's a good note to keep that you aren't supposed to be aggressive with these devices. Just take the controller apart it isn't hard at all, someone who don't even know what a controller are could do it
I do for several years too and works fine for me, saved me a lot of time. Ps4 is a lot easier than ps5 but works with ease on both with a little "training"

Guys, this method can go wrong so easily. Just do some quick research on how to open your controller and change the sticks properly! I just did it the other day and it's pretty simple. It only involves a few screws and disconnecting a couple ribbon cables. It takes no more than 15 minutes to do the job right, so you might as well do it the correct way!
After looking through all the comments after this messed up my controller, only 1 person confirmed it worked while every other one said their excited to try it without trying it and every other one saying how they could not get it back on. I didn’t realize this video was just to advertise this guys stupid product. Honestly just make that clear instead of damaging peoples controller because that’s what this method did to mine , now I have to buy another. Do not try this, u guys are better off just unscrewing it via the method most people use.
What are you talking about? My controller fell and the left toggle was stuck and jammed up. Watched this video to figure out how to take it apart at remove it, and did exactly this minus the plastic tool, and fixed my controller no problem. I just used a precision screwdriver to pop the analog joystick into the thumb button instead of using that little plastic tool I don't have, and just pulled up to remove the button. This works perfectly fine if you do it properly. I imagine you'd run into problems if you start taking the controller apart further, and there's no screws on the outside of the controller anyway. You have to pop that plastic plate off like this.

Precision screwdrivers are basically just small versions of standard screwdrivers. Do you know what a flathead screwdriver is? 🪛 That's what I used. I used this because I wanted a small and thin edge so I wouldn't damage the plastic, but something hard enough to put a little pressure to pop the pieces in and out. Do you have any very small flathead screwdrivers? If you don't, do you have a metal nail file with a pointed tip?

IT WORKED I know most of you are looking for a comment like this. I did it not for one, but for TWO dualsenses and it worked. I was more afraid to break the black mask while removing than changing the stick tbh. I used a pair of asian chopsticks together and paralell to pull the button and it worked fine, but it needs a lot of force both for this and for smashing the button inside the control (I’m a girl, so even worse with weaker hands and the nails). To tilt the mechanism inside the button I used a flat brush with dried glue in the fibers: it became hard and I cut a small section in the middle, making a “V” to tilt the piece. I hope it helps someone and that you can understand my english 😅
I just tried his analog pull off method and I couldn’t get them back in the same way he did so I took the pad apart to do so however it has worked well for me so far my bad would drift to the left so bad I could do anything now it’s been perfect for the last 2 days wanted to add this to maybe help others
@@zaynahm3d974 The difficulty is in fit the stick in the hole and press it at the same time. If you press but don't fit it, will look that is ok but the stick bended. So one can imagine that it is drift but is actually a problem that you can fix removing and trying fit again.
If it’s too hard for you to force it back in you can also use a pair of nail clippers to trim the sides of the joystick to pop it in with ease and it feels like normal (risk is that it will get dust and dirt easier)

Stop lying, it does not take 3 minutes. I've seen countless videos on taking it apart. It takes a long time to take it apart and put it together. You literally have to dissemble the PS5 controller.

Stumbled upon your video 30minutes ago after searching for a solution. And my controller is fixed. Thanks to you. I improvised with a pair of scissors to lift the round bit out, cushioned with a cardboard to prevent the tip of the scissors scratching my controller. Followed the other parts of your video. Pushed the joystick root in place under the cap with the tip of my smallest kitchen knife. Job done. I was prepared to cause a bit of damage, but in the end, I didn't. So, at your own risk guys. But this method worked for me

Followed your directions not to replace the stick but fix the drag. Popped it open, used the cleaning duster to blow the dust off, lubed it a drop of 3 in 1 garage door lube (at 11:30pm that’s the only thing I had available) and it freaking worked. 😄 Thnx man, Cheers.

I don’t have a PS five controller but I have a PS4 and I use a flat head report my analog stick back where it was you gave me the idea to put my analog stick back by using a flat head and putting it on my controller
Just fixed my Aim stick , it had popped off , took a few tries but it worked. The dome will pull out you've just got to be firm, getting it back in is even trickier , I cut a bank card into a strip with a notch cut at the end to hold the stick and popped it right back in, easier without the collar on , that slides right over the thumbstick and locks back in place. It was a wtf the pad needs fixing so what have I got to lose moment.
Now I have a controller without a joystick and a joystick ❤

Just a really small Philips screwdriver I honestly do not know where I got it from but yeah that’s all I used

Ye. There's loads. Especially on ebay. I did mine myself but if you don't want to do it yourself then ebay is your best bet

Bin erst vor kurzem auf deinen Kanal aufmerksam geworden!
Hab mal eine Frage: Sind die Thumbsticks bei dem V1 und V2 identisch? Habe von jedem einen und muss an beiden einen Thumbstick austauschen, wollte deshalb wissen, wenn ich mir welche bestelle ob die dann auch auf beiden passen oder ob es da Unterschiede gibt wie bei den Trigger Tasten? Eine Antwort würde mir sehr helfen!
Als nächstes Baue ich mir einen Scuff nach deiner Anleitung nach! Hoffentlich bekomme ich das hin! 🙈 Deine Videos finde ich Spitze 👍

Followed your directions not to replace the stick but fix the drag. Popped it open, used the cleaning duster to blow the dust off, lubed it a drop of 3 in 1 garage door lube (at 11:30pm that’s the only thing I had available) and it freaking worked. 😄 Thnx man, Cheers.

I don’t have a PS five controller but I have a PS4 and I use a flat head report my analog stick back where it was you gave me the idea to put my analog stick back by using a flat head and putting it on my controller

So does taking the stick off and putting it back on somehow fix the problem, because my controller causes my character to just spin in circles.

Just fixed my Aim stick , it had popped off , took a few tries but it worked. The dome will pull out you've just got to be firm, getting it back in is even trickier , I cut a bank card into a strip with a notch cut at the end to hold the stick and popped it right back in, easier without the collar on , that slides right over the thumbstick and locks back in place. It was a wtf the pad needs fixing so what have I got to lose moment.

For the love of God, it was difficult but I managed it, I was insecure and afraid of breaking it but it worked, just be patient and it will work
