I should have done this with my old lap steel. Dang that sounds good bro. A lot less money than what I spent! I wish you lived in the northern Virginia area - So difficult to find musicians to play traditional and outlaw country music.
Thank you, David. Great idea, wonderful job, beautiful playing!! Would you tell us which strings you bend? I think your self esteem is justified. thumbs up to it all. I would love to build a thing like that.
Damn, brother! I've been thinking about putting a hipshot on my lap steel. You are an inspiration in your creation as well as your playing style. Keep kicking culo! Really awesome. The four thumbs down are from haters. They wish. Hahaha

nice :) so is there 2 whammie bars, it kind of looks like it, i am wanting to build my first ever lap steel and i would like to incorporate a bender set up, i am presently doing a Google search for any information and plans for a 8 string rig.
A little history: The first recording of the "bending" of strings on a Steel Guitar was Bud Isaacs who played for Web Pierce who Recorded "Slowly" in 1954. Link: ua-cam.com/video/3B6FjkaY-O8/v-deo.html It was an outstanding recording; that drove 30,000 steel players crazy; all over the world as to "HOW did he do it?". That began an evolution of the Pedal Steel Guitar that is still evolving. Later Bud wrote a song to embellish the pedals that "bent" the "strangs"; titled "Bud's Bounce". He then recorded the solo showing what the pedal guitar could do in 1956. Link: ua-cam.com/video/-Y5KzgAWX3w/v-deo.html
@@DavidCertano Thank you David. I want you to know that I just came back from the post office. The book is on the way. Please let me know if it does not get there within 15 days. Take care kind Sir.

LOTS of people would love to do this! Thanks to for the inspiration! david certano hi! unfortunately I do not have time to make lap steel and benders at the moment. otherwise, I was inspired to form a fender jazzmaster vibrato. well done!
Awesome man! I'm looking to start a build and have been trying to figure out how to make the benders! Or if there is a bridge that already has them. Do you know of a bridge besides yours that has this?
I have a hand built lapsteel (I built) I just fabricated some nice benders but am at a loss as to what strings to start using them on. I play a c13 tuning (BbCEGACEG), any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hello David - LOVE your bender tailpiece! Been wanting to do something like that myself for a long time, just not sure where to start. Almost looks like an old Mustang/Jaguar vibrato tailpiece. Any chance of being able to purchase one of those from you?
hi! unfortunately I do not have time to make lap steel and benders at the moment. otherwise, I was inspired to form a fender jazzmaster vibrato. well done!
did you come up with the benders on your own or did u just buy a bridge with benders implemented already? I saw a home made bender bridge that a gentleman made out of a door hinge... truly one of the coolest homemade instruments i've ever seen.
Hi Rodney, I'm really happy and proud to read your message! I obviously agree with your proposal. I will finish my last bender model this week as well as my new lap steel. I will be able to post some photos and some music samples. I'll contact you again. Stay tuned ... David.
Dude, you drive me crazy!!!! That's only a Lapsteel but sounds like a Pedal Steel Guitar. Thats outstanding!!!! 👏👏👍👌
Glad you like it!

I think David needs to play on all of our country music records. :) David could also make a handsome living selling his creations!
That's for sure. I think $200.00 + is kind of outrageous pricing. But a fast way to get to be a millionaire.
