    Just to set things straight: a routed bender like the one Joe Glaser from Nashville makes “only” costs $650 and it is a killer non-invasive installation only visible by the adjustment screw underneath the back strap button and the operating lever at the neck joint. No intention to take away any business for Mr. Certano but the facts need to be told correctly.

      Hi Wim, I have no doubt that your comment is dangerous and that it is jeopardizing my business. However, I don't understand the point of writing this. Everyone knows Joe Glaser and his great system. Do you do product comparisons on everything? If so, you have a lot of work!

      @@DavidCertano Hello David, All I was referring to is the claim that other benders would cost thousands of dollars, which is not true. Mind you, although I own two guitars with a Glaser bender, I am still seriously considering your T-bender for another one as it still is a great very affordable alternative to the Glaser/McVay variants, not even mentioning the original Parsons Green bender which takes away much too much material to my concern. And I highly encourage people to try one as benders are great fun.

    WOW ! ! ! is this Certano Bender a new TYPE? Because it seems that it now replaces the previous bridge. The one I bought had to be installed BEHIND the regular bridge, about an inch, and the original bridge had to be honed out with a "half-moon" for the 2 strings to be able to reach back to the Certano bridge. You can see that Bender on older YT videos for this product. Either way, I like it!

      Cher pour ce que c'est ? Alors, je vous explique ce que c'est : nous avons un bloc d'aluminium brut de qualité aéronautique usiné au millième avec des tolérances militaires, poli à la main un par un. - Les Bagues sont en en bronze fritté pour réduire au maximum les frottements . - l'axe principal en acier inoxydable fait 8mm de diamètre, donc,il est indestructible. - Les leviers réglables sont eux aussi en acier inoxydable découpés au laser, ébavurés, poncés, polis un par un à la main. - La visserie elle aussi en acier inoxydable. - Les rondelles en téflon. - les ressorts calculés fabriqués uniquement pour cette application . - Les goupilles qui accueillent les cordes sont en acier étiré , elles sont serties une par une dans le corps des pièces basculantes. - Il faut les fabriquer, les assembler, s'arranger pour que tous les fournisseurs soient au diapason, les tester, les emballer, les expédier avec un courrier personnalisé pour chaque client, aider les clients par mail si ils en ont besoin , répondre toute la journée aux même questions, guider les clients dans leur choix. - Tout est fabriqué en France. Non, monsieur, ce n'est pas cher.

    • @davidp158
      @davidp158 Місяць тому

      UPDATE: I installed the Certano T-Bender and learned that it does reduce string tension and volume of the B and G strings...a lot. I'm thinking heavier guage string may help this. Overall I like the T-Bender, but have some observations I posted in a review: The pros: Nice design, and non-intrusive installation so that you can return the instrument to stock without damaging the instrument. Fit and finish looks pretty good, but time will tell how well it holds up. Minimal moving parts, so it should be durable Ability to independently adjust the two levers for position angle and degree of pitch shifting The levers can be moved out of the way to restore 99% of what a vintage Tele bridge feels like. The bridge is cutaway on both sides of the strings (unlike a vintage ashtray bridge) giving you more access to strings with picking hand. Once set, the pitch shifting is exactly as one would expect; smooth without the mechanical noises that I have heard with the Parsons White bender. The cons: Adds weight, as it is slightly heavier than a vintage Tele bridge. If you move the levers out of the way when not in use, they become loose and require constant tightening. There must be a better way to attach them to the main unit. A big upgrade to the T-bender would be push-in arms with a tension screw, like on modern Strat tremolos. It could eliminate the floppy arm syndrome once and for all. The levers have sharp edges. Not a big problem in use, but as they come in contact with the hand, they really should have been finished better. They appear to be stamped metal with no edge buffing. Actually, all the edges of the T-bender are sharp, and could use some buffing before plating. The pitch range adjusters are very coarse. It is difficult to set and maintain precise pitch adjustment. A finer thread would require more turns, and thus produce a more precise range of adjustment. Like the arms, the pitch screws need constant attention, as the pitch shift tends to drift quickly with minimal use. As the B and G strings are no longer passing through the body of the Telecaster, the string tension is much, much, much less. There is a definite loss of tone, volume and balanced tension. I will try heavier gauge B and G strings to see if this helps, but I wish there was a tension roller on the T-bender, like what is available on Bigsby vibratos. Of all the cons, this is the one that may convince me to return this for a refund. YMMV. When pitch shift is set to a whole step, it can ver very tricky to partially bend up a half step. It feels like the pitch shift is not uniform, but may be possible with practice.

    Thanks for posting your video of the Certano bender. I'm seeing a lot of cool videos about this product, but have some questions that don't seem to get addressed: 1. As the G and B strings no longer route through the body, do you notice a difference in tension or tone? 2. Do conventional finger string bends feel different on the G or B string? 3. Does the Certano bender add much weight? 4. When you move the pitch bending "arms" out of the way, can you palm mute like you would on a conventional Tele? I'm concerned about having to adjust my right hand when the arms are moved away.

    Cool video and cool alternative to a Forest Lee B Bender or a Glaser B bender. But I do have a small bone to pick a standard B bender install from both companies is under $700 while a B/G bender is around $1500 from both companies. So I just want to say it is not thousands of dollars to own one. Plus the Glaser bender system does not need to cut out half the guitar it's two small cuts and a couple of holes running length wise of the guitar. Just thought I would let you guys know that.

      @@DavidCertano Mr. Certano, just a touch of feedback. First, I love this device. As previously stated, I have put this on two guitars. One for me, and one I am loaning my instructor. What I found is that the thickness of the metal used to construct the bridge is considerably thicker than the original bridge. Due to this and the size of the saddles (barrels?), even when lowered all the way, the action on both the E-strings cannot be brought down below 5/64" ... I added a .5 degree shim to neck pocket of each guitar and have room to bring the action down as needed. Just something to note as other folks may find this useful (maybe?). Additionally, I did try using some smaller barrels, but the break-angle for the benders was then almost non-existent. I think another option, although I didn't try it would be to grind some brass off the outer edges of the high- and low-E saddles to give them more capability to drop the action. The strings in the middle didn't seem to have this issue, just the outer strings. Great device... sounds amazing, just presenting some feedback, if you are looking for it.
