- To follow Jesus is to offer up our lives each day as a living sacrifice in service to God. The Apostle Paul experienced this reality firsthand as he repeatedly endured suffering and persecution in the name of Christ. In this message, Steven Lawson analyzes Paul’s instructions to the Philippian Christians-that they too would be given the opportunity to suffer for the sake of Christ.
This message is from Dr. Lawson’s 42-part teaching series Rejoice in the Lord. Learn more: www.ligonier.org/learn/series...

Amazing rising of intensity of truth
One of my favorite contemporary pastors/theologians.
Thank you for this solid message, and the challenge to stand firm with my Lord Jesus no matter what the cost. May the Lord our God bless his church, and cause us to bear much fruit for his glory and great name’s sake. Amen and amen!
Lawaon, Sproul, MacArthur, voddies teachings are so inspiring. Thank God for men like these.
Agreed. Washer, Begg, Mbewe, and Ferguson, too!

This Message is convicting and encouraging. I have avoided Suffering because self-centered fear.

This is a message that not many preachers preach. However I hope they don’t celebrate Christmas.
You wanna really suffer then quit celebrating Christmas and tell your church congregation to do the same. You’ll suffer and lose half of your church.
No churches like that are "Cults" . People love their Saturnalia /sun and agriculture God worship .hint hint wink wink it's what Christmas today is .maybe do some research .and it's wild how devil and deity worship turns into burning trees in our home and Santa Claus? God help us what does it have to do with Jesus??
@@1Whipperin it sure is. And you hear these pastors preaching really good truth but then they turn around and celebrate Christmas and Easter.
@@1Whipperin I’m shocked he’s even preaching on that subject. My church we preach on that subject almost every time. Lol
@@1Whipperin Like this
Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
👍
I know someone that had faith for most of her life but lost faith at the loss of her only daughter with a brain tumor. After all relatives, friends and members of her church pleaded to God for healing and there none, she denied the existence of God and became an atheist. No faith left, no beliefs ,no hope only resignation to a meaningless life. Faith can be lost as salvation can be lost. The devil is at work in many ways , giving tragedies, illnesses, pain and temptations to remove the faith of the believers in God.
That’s a tough one. If she was really God’s child she’ll come back.
@@aletheia8054 Besides, salvation cannot be lost. GOD keeps his own, John 10. 🙏
@@tebelshaw9486 amen
Salvation cannot be lost. If someone loses their salvation per say, they were never saved.. anybody can claim anything.. talk the talk and walk the walk, but were never really saved.
1 John 2:19
The agonizing way
The ONLY sin that can keep you from Heaven…
When Jeffrey Dahmer, the serial killer who murdered and ate his victims, was in jail before he died, he made one decision that sealed his eternity in Heaven.
Jeffrey believed in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. This is the Gospel. It’s a churchy sounding word that just means good news.
He was saved, sealed, and sanctified, even after all of the sins he’d committed. He’s in Heaven now, which is a hard pill for many to swallow who falsely believe you get to Heaven by being good.
In fact, the only thing that can keep you from Heaven is dying in your sins without believing in the work of Jesus, who died on a cross to forgive all humanity of sin.
John 3:36
“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”
It makes no difference whether you think your sins are too bad. God loves you and sent His son Jesus to die for YOU so you’ll be with Him in Heaven for eternity.
There is no greater love.
So he suffered for the sake of Christ? Or did you not listen to the video and went with your standard copy and paste instead?
@@HearGodsWord Acts 16:31
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
John 6:47, KJV: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believes on me hath everlasting life.
John 3:36
“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”
John 6:29
“Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the will of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.”
@@garrettstrong9606 you didnt answer my questions.
@@HearGodsWord It was a dumb question, that’s why. Jesus suffered for us on the cross. He paid the ultimate price.
@@garrettstrong9606 I asked more than one. So basically you're refusing to answer yet again or just scared to engage. Answering a question that wasn't answered could be considered dumb.
If your churches do not Practice what first century churches did (acts 4:32-35) then GOD is not dwelling on you because you are not House of HIM.your end will be like synagogues (mix with poor and rich)(James 2:2-9) to be burned forever(psalms 74:8)that is very dangerous for all souls if you preach to people.
