Preaching is the primary means by which the Lord calls people to faith in Christ and changes their hearts by the power of His Spirit. How and what we preach will open the kingdom to people or create a stumbling block for those who do not know the truth. I am spoiled because I have a job that allows me to listen to sermons and I always go to sleep and wake with preaching from either Ligonier or GTY or James Boice or Steve’s ministry OnePassion. With all the sermons I hear even my wife and daughter wonder why I’m not a better Christian but I know I am one by God’s sovereign grace. Thank you Jesus.

Dr. Lawson and Dr. Sproul has been used by God mightily in my walk in faith to our Lord Jesus Christ. Glory to God for their lives.

Hard to find a church that has a pastor that preaches like Steve Lawson is advocating!! Certainly where I live!! I am praying for God to raise one up!!!

My minister doesnt preach like this. It bothers me he is to lay back. We have never had The Doctrines of Grace preached. I first heard them from John Macarthur and R C Sproul. I never knew what they were until them after 20 years at this church and 20 years at a previously. I went up to someone at church and told them about it , they had never heard of them and dont want to.
How can anyone grow as a Christian under this. So glad of so many challenging sermons by these faith pastors on the internet and youtube.

AMEN! Wow what a powerful Spirit filled man to bring preaching into the light! I love his last words we don't need more preachers but less so that we have real preachers. And when he said great preaching brings great resistance of the people who have not been preached the Word of God.

Steven mentioned how every generation was marked by great preachers.
I see the generation above me having great preachers, but I don't see many phenomenal millenial preachers yet.
Will we see any potential preachers at ligonier a few years from now?
That is because preachers need to learn before they teach/preach. It takes a greater understanding of the Word to teach it than to read or learn it. At least let the poor chaps get into their 40s and 50s before you expect them to be phenomenal. Don’t worry, God’s got this.

However, I have a question. Is the command to preach for men only?
@shiela aguiliar - it's not a contradiction to answer your question with yes and no - hope this extract from God's holy Word with a few supporting comment and further biblical refs. following, may help guide your own study:
Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. (1 Tim. 2:11-12 KJB)
'I suffer not a woman to teach' - woman are not to assume the office of teacher in the church (ref. 2 Cor. 14:34), however, women may teach as long as they do not usurp the place of leadership and authority of men in the church; older women are specifically entrusted with teaching younger women (Titus 2:3-5); the injunction is based upon the relationship of man and women in the original creation (Gen. 2:18; 3:6).

While listening I was wondering which "inspired " version the speaker reads.
Lawson didnt give Piper credit for the quote, "It doesnt make you a car just because you are in the garage"
He probably forgot. He gave credit to other preachers so I just assume it was an innocent mistake.

The Lord didn't take Dr Sproul to Glory. He will be resurrected with the rest of the saints on the last day. Only the martyred saints go straight to Glory and they will be with him when he returns and resurrects the rest of us. Jesus said four times in John chapter 4 that if we abide in him his father will love us and he will raise us up on the last day.

The Bible says, "he is dead yet he speaks?"
This was quoted by Steve at the beginning of the video, very troubling remark.
"By faith Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he was attested to be righteous, God testifying about his gifts, and through faith, though he is dead, he still speaks." _ Hebrews 11:4

I have been really blessed by these preachers ! All these brothers who have been giving the Word of God to the listeners in these big halls or churches!
But I have detected at least two unscriptural points in this preacher!
1/. To say that RC Sproule has gone to be the Lord ! Does not hold true to what the Apostle Paul, has said In Thessalonians! Only when at the Second Advent will the ‘ dead in Christ’ will be resurrected! They do not go to heaven when they die !
2/. To always say that Sunday is the true Sabbath of God, is completely wrong ! Our Lord Jesus Christ or any of the Apostles ever kept Sunday, as a Holy day of rest and church worship !
According to Isaiah 8:20; the 7th Day Sabbath is Saturday and is from God and not from Man ! Sunday, comes from Baal worship and in the 4th century was changed by the Roman Catholic Church, at the time of the Pergamum church, where the seat of satan was ! Through the Vatican ! These
Poor brothers including this brother is blind to this truth !
The 7th Day Sabbath comes from Exodus 20; and comes from Genesis chapters 1 and 2:1-3; but Sunday does not come from any of these Bible sources !
What a strange mystery that these dear Brothers from this ministry do not see and understand these 2 points of unbiblical errors!

Absolutely wrong on elevating preaching over personal time with the Word. This is typical modern preaching where titles, preachers, and ceremony are promoted first. Don’t be fooled Christians.
#SteveLawson. Did anyone ever tell you that constant pointing your finger at others is considered rude It is known as trying to aggressively impose your words on another. Should Preaching be giving the word of God in a loving calm without an angry voice , You sound as thought you are talking to a naughty child. Your content is very good but you look like you are so angry about to have a heart attack . You rarely actually ready sections of Scripture. While it appears you know your scripture very well and simply speak on them . Not actually read the actual words. Yelling does not make others listen any more Speaking confident calmly without pointing your finger is considered more respectful. You give the impression that it would be a scary experience to meet you in a dark lane.
