- Throughout the history of God’s people, the Holy Spirit has moved at specific times in order to bring awakening to His covenant community. This session explores the reality of awakening in biblical history, considering various examples of awakening that occurred during the times of the Apostles and prophets. Some examples include the awakenings under Hezekiah, Josiah, and Nehemiah, and the session also considers the outpouring of the Spirit at Pentecost (Acts 2) as an example of awakening.

When God first awakened me and brought true conviction of sin, I am ashamed to say, I initially fought it. I have often wondered why the Spirit gave me such heavy, heart-wrenching conviction that totally disrupted and devastated life as I knew it at 19 years of age. It was because of my deep, entrenched religious pride. I needed ruining. My pride required my life to be totally destroyed until I surrendered to my Lord. That was almost 40 years ago, and now I preach God's word and serve his Church. Thank you, sovereign God, for lovingly ruining my life with your grace.
GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST! Dr Steven Lawson is a Godly man who preaches and teaches the WORD OF GOD in Spirit and in Truth! Few pastors are alive who preach and teach the WORD OF GOD like him. I pray that GOD will equip a Young Generation of Godly men like Pastor Lawson who preach and teach GOD'S WORD in Spirit and in Truth like he does.
Dr Lawson is such an Excellent Teacher & Preacher of the Word of GOD! Dr. Lawson is one of my favourite Pastors. I enjoy listen to his Preaching and Teaching as he is so passionate and so vividly in exclaiming The WORD OF GOD.
I pray that OUR ALMIGHTY GOD keeps Dr. Lawson in ministry for many more years. GOD BLESS YOUR Ligioniers ministry!!

Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all long suffering and teaching.

to other Pastors I've had to hear Sunday morns: Fewer stories of fishing trips, trucks driven, camaraderie events with friends AND before you bring out the Word...deeply Study it first, so the Lord can give you His Words in a "masterful presentation" to the congregation. Preach the Word as if the Lord will be calling us up in the next few minutes.
Pastors please preach longer than 15-20 minutes....don't stop preaching because of ur timeline to finish...don't stop preaching because the second part is promised for the evening service......preach until the Lord stops you, not because it is lunch time, or the nursery is waiting for children to be picked up, etc. Thank you Pastor Lawson for your attention to this topic....I can remember when we did not leave morning church until 1, 2 or later in the afternoon, and that was being in church at 9 am and coming back at 7 pm.
I've gotten up and walked out of more than one church because of the sorry preaching,
eg: Da Vinci code, Mash TV show, latest Disney movies. These weren't liberal churches, either.

If the Lord can be here any second from now, how can the pulpit be used to squander the time on who knows what to get a laugh, a clap of hands, or to quote athesists outside of Scrip to "prove" the validity of Scrip?? How can the pulpit be used as a performance stage for disguised Halloween, holiday events when it is the place of kneeling down for repentence??
I thought I had found a church that preached the Gospel and in a Bible study, I was "cautioned" that women could not say "Amen" aloud in agreement, only men...and no I did not yell out, shout out the amen...
Years earlier at another church, I had one pastor and his son, assoc pastor tell me they believed Adam & Eve went to hell, they told me they did not preach that from the pulpit because they did not want to lose church members.
I attended that church for years and was active in ministry and our families were close, good friends, we loved them...I never stepped back into that church again.
A few years ago, I visited my son near Tampa Fl...I attended the Bpt church he was attending, the preacher was the grandson of that famous missionary preacher to China at the turn of the Century...I went to my son's age group Bible study and the purity of the Word was preached that brought tears to my eyes.. and I understood/experienced the meaning of having the purity of Water of the Word washing/coming down over you. I was there visiting for about 3 months....
I thank the Lord for showing me that such churches are still out there...faithful to His Word. Nice to meet you and apologize for going on, and on. Be well in the Lord and through His Word. Look up for our redemption draweth nigh. B.👵

The younger generation wants "entertained," and all the leaders are getting too old to go on.
I solve the problem of where to go to worship by ministering Sunday mornings at nursing
homes and ALFs, but Covid has even interefered with that. This is the day of "small things"

Here in NM, you have to be a relative with proof of relationship, and have vax doc before you can even enter a ("long term care facility) door as a visitor to see a friend or to minister to one or a group. It is astonishing at how many churches follow govern mandates to close their doors because of covid.....again, be well in the Lord....
