If God has already determined everything to happen according to His sovereign will, then why pray? Why witness? Why read the Bible? Why go to church? If everything is going to turn out the way God has decreed it, it is logical to assume that prayer is useless.
Is EVERYTHING that happens a RESULT of God's predestined plan? I lost everything and thought it was punishment from falling into sin, but it all happened because God first planned it all??? Why did God ordain I would sin and lose my homes and investments and my peace??? WHY WHY WHY???
Mr. C I am a committed christian and I don't believe God caused your sin. If you suffered, it was because you chose of tour own true and definite free will to sin, and if you are suffering it is either because of Satanic forces, the sins of others, a fallen world, or your own sin. Look into the thoughts of Greg Boyd and Michael Heiser on sovereignty, free will, and foreknowledge. God created humans to be his representatives on earth and fill the whole world with humanity in loving servitude to God. Humanity sinned. And since then God has been doing everything he can to bring us back to his loving grasp. And he will defeat the powers of darkness at the end of time, you will be with him if you are a child of God, and he will always love you. Evil is the result of Satanic forces and our own distorted nature as a result of the fall. God never, I repeat, never ordained evil or sin and never will.
He does things for his own glory whether that is by revealing his wrath on a sinful world or by blessing the children of Israel. He has his favourites believe it or not. Malachi 1 talks about God loving Jacob but hating Esau. Which is just one example. Through both his wrath or Blessings, God will be glorified. We need to remember that we are all dead in our sins and transgressions. We do not deserve investments, homes nor do we deserve peace. Our very breath is God showing mercy and love toward us. So in a way, you were not being punished. We receive from God what we deserve as sinners. The blessings we do receive in this life is God showing us Love and mercy Which makes him a good Father.
Mr. C I am very sorry that it has happened to you but one thing we do in our trials and tribulations is to hold fast in our faith. He did not cause these things to happen to you as a predestined thing before you were ever conceived. It could have happened as a result of sin or it could have happened because of sinful people. Look at Job. He had favor with God and all these things happened to him and he held fast and gave God all the glory despite all these bad things. Look up 1 Peter 5:8-11.
