Collecting my new FlyLight Aeros Nine Wing - How to put it together.

- My brand new Flylight Aeros Nine wing has made the journey from the Ukraine where it was built to Germany where it was test flown. Then onto Flylight in Northampton where it was inspected and registration markings applied before being delivered to Micro-Maintenance at Darley Moor ready for collection.
In this video, I show you the first time I clap eyes on my new wing and you join me for the extremely thorough handover process where Giles from MicroMaintenance shows me how to rig the wing.
This is not a step by step how to video, but you will see how the wing goes together and I highlight some of this differences between the Nine wing and my older Fox 13TL wing.

That wing is a work of art and this video is just plain excellent. This answers so many of the questions that those of us interested in this wing have been wanting to ask. I fly an Aeros ANT with a Fox 13TL wing and am I'm the process of ordering a NINE wing. The way you explain the differences in the wing's construction and set-up really talks to me. To me, it seems like the engineers at Aeros, and the folks at Fly Light (and you guys as well) have got something to be quite proud of. Thanks so much for posting.
Glad my video has been of some use. I made the same progression from a Fox 13TL wing and I can honestly say that the new Nine wing is a huge leap forward both in terms of performance and design features. Still not flown it yet due to bad weather. Soon though. 👍

Can't wait to see you flying it. I'll also be interested in seeing how it handles at the different wing MAC positions. If you left it where it was in the video you're on the slowest setting.
I’ll probably leave it on its rearmost position for initial flights. It will still be 15-20 mph faster in the cruise than my old wing. I’ll have a play with hang point positions when I’m more familiar with its characteristics. 👍
@paulieb796 Definitely sounds like a good plan. Explore the envelope at that setting first. Just need plenty of good days.

The wing tip battons on new wings are fantastic. Those are the things i hate the most on my older Solairus. Heavy fiberglass rods that have to be inserted and then tensioned with a lever. Releasing the tension is the tricky part, to fast and the outside end jumps out behind the end holder and you have to remove the holder to get the rod out😞.
I looked at ordering a new wing, not in the cards this year.

Hi Patrick. Yup, the tip wands are just a genius idea. They remain attached to the wing so no chance of loosing them and as Giles demonstrated, fitting them is a one handed job! I can see me have some fun with this wing. 👍

Ged, the build quality is amazing and there really are some very clever ideas built into the wing. Those tip rods for example are a stroke of genius and make rigging the wing a doddle.

When you say "wing", do you mean the actual wing or the whole aircraft? As I understand it, you are changing the wing only, keeping the chassie with the gear, motor, seat and so on ... ?
It was just the wing. The trike/motor etc was re-used.

I did mate and it smelled gorgeous but it just looked plain weird on video!!
