Oh yeah, one more tip about the POD 2.0 if you want to know what settings you used in a particular saved preset, hold down the SAVE button, then twist the knob in question. The tuner arrows will direct you to the knob position in memory. Same goes for settings you needed to hold the TAP button to get to; hold SAVE and TAP, then turn the knob. On the effect and amp knobs it doesn't direct you, but it will light both arrows up when you're on the right one. A little clunky, but gets the job done if you need to know how you came up with a preset.

@@shredjoe1 No problem. Still a pretty usable piece of gear honestly, especially if you pair it with new IRs, which I did for a bit through my DAW. Since last year I did break down and get an HX Stomp, and wow, what a difference. If you're on the fence about doing it, do yourself a favor and eat Ramen noodles, turn down your thermostat, and whatever else you need to be to afford it and do it. An AMAZING piece of gear for the money.

@@shredjoe1 There are lots of free IRs out there. One of the ones that I came across and kept coming back to was a couple of free packs from @juanbachofficial. He has two metal IR packs for free on his channel and they are killer. I supposed it's what you're trying to accomplish with it, but if you're in the Soldano, there's plenty in there for you: ua-cam.com/video/mogkkiVDRws/v-deo.html and ua-cam.com/video/_snkNave8E8/v-deo.html
Links in his descriptions. One or two of these seems to introduce lag, but in general, some of my favorites for high gain stuff still.

How does the tuner work, mine doesn't move at all. Is it broken or do I need to hold something to enable it?

I owned a Pod HD Pro rack mount unit and have regretted selling it ever since I did. I just picked up a used HD desktop bean (the black one) for $110 and can't wait to dial in some killer tones.

I just bought a back-up POD 2.0 for $40 in case my original one fails. My main gigging set up for the past 20 years has been the pod outputs into the stereo main power amp inputs of my Roland JC-120. It can literally cover any sound I need and the super clean, high volume amp can cover a festival gig or any large stage gig.

Just pulled out my old pod 2 tonight and compared to my Line 6 Amplifi 30. Pod 2.0 is better by far. The sounds are very different. I’d assumed Line 6 would just out the same sounds in but not so. I also took time to really appreciate the tweaking you can do with the tap button, discovering the Dumble based sounds in the process. Running it into the clean channel of my Blackstar Artist 15, I was wrapped with some of the tones I was getting. It was just so well designed!

Picked up a Pod 2 the other day and really liking it, holds up well to my Iridium ( using external IR or through my Powercab plus). Just grab and go convenience without some effects .
    Here’s a pointless tip.
You can activate the delay on any single effect e.g. Flanger just by holding down Tap and using the Bass and middle… can’t hear any difference than using a combined effect but there you go.

Very helpful. Thank you for posting. 🙏
Another way to show this quickly would be to connect to PC w Line6 Edit and share screenshot and/or the patch file. 🤔
Deep editing via SW on these often very different than the limited settings possible via the device interface.

Hey JB C, i am trying to find out for sure that these Pods have the ability to save patches (like amp, reverb, delay etc) in one patch like i can with my Boss GT10. I have the opportunity to buy one of these with a pedal board at a pretty good price but i need to know i can use it live. Cheers

Great tips. One thing I like to use with all my modelers is an analog mixer (ie guitar > modeler > mixer > recording interface). I find it removes a bit of the digital sound and also provides a place to do some eq adjustments which might not work as well in the box. My soundcraft mixer has lexicon effects which I sometimes use too.

You have the one I don't have but yours will connect to the FBV express pedals where mine won't. So I bought the FBV express pedals second hand and they didn't work and that drive me to buying a spider 3 amp which I love but it doesn't have all the same features my POD does.

Line6 as a company has been great... but... they really don't support older devices. It's like Apple. They want you to buy the newest device, which is fine, but also telling, that it comes with a hefty pricetag. Is there stuff great? No doubt. With the cripple your previous purchase? Almost certainly., I REALLY want to buy to HXStomp, but I'm wary, as a previous Line6 consumer about how they will cripple their current tech to sell the latest tech. Love the product, don't love the company.

    • @shblair
      @shblair 11 днів тому

I dont see how they are crippling their tech. I have POD 2.0, X# pro, HD pro X and all work well with the software of the year they were released. Just like Digi, Lexicon, Avid, Apogee. All made sensational gear. all work best with the computer operation system the year they were released, and for a few years after.
Just the same in the film industry. when your ingest/edit/compile systems run without problems......never update the operating system. it breaks what once worked.
