    In today's video we start off a Monday morning like any other but immediately get involved with a customer and a sale! Now I just have to schedule when he and his wife can come in to finalize all the details. If you have a "Dealership Life" topic you'd like to see in a video please put in the comments and I'll see what I can come up with.

    How did fuel economy go down ? That’s unheard of. Normally goods/services get better/upgraded over time

    • @DaveBsellsChevy
      @DaveBsellsChevy  2 роки тому +6

      Due to the chip shortage GM temporarily removed the AFM/DFM systems from the 5.3L V8... That is the system that shuts fuel down to certain cylinder at certain times to save fuel.

    • @coryroot
      @coryroot 2 роки тому +1

      So it didn’t really go down unless your driving in stop and go traffic. The bigger difference that guy was noticing is the smaller fuel tank

    • @southernfarmtech
      @southernfarmtech 2 роки тому +1

      @@DaveBsellsChevy That's actually a good thing in my opinion. The cylinder management system has been the death of many 5.3's. My dad had a 2015 Suburban...engine destroyed at 150k because of that system. Impeccable maintenance its whole life. I'll take a drop in fuel economy to have a more reliable engine! People who buy Suburbans, generally, are not buying them because they are great on gas. ;-) Your customer scored with his truck!

      @@Bruins77Fan should be a chip for that you plug right into your obd2 by range technologies that pretty much tells the computer to not use the AFM/DFM (for newer models) and stay in V8. I know someone who had it in their 5.3 and it did exactly that with no issues.

Anywho, the Hyundai dealership refuses to go over MSRP, the GM said the owner looks at it like this. Customers who buy now will remember the dealerships who charged them more and will likely purchase somewhere else after all this shortage crap is all said and done, thus losing them repeat business.

    I would imagine with gas costing what it does going into a gas station is a traumatic event. While I like the big V-8 in a vehicle like the Tahoe,when you see the price is at, or near, $100.00 to fill up the tank your transportation costs go up considerably. I can see why many have chosen to get electric vehicles, I still think the cars are in the infancy stage. Newer battery packs in the future will increasingly allow you to get many more miles out of one charge. With charging process taking hours you are limited to trips not far from home. Now I’d like to see you get out of the electric car and get a new Corvette, that would be a lot more fun. Just kidding Dave, I do enjoy the videos even though it’s been decades since I’ve driven a Chevy product. My last Chevy was a 1965 Chevelle convertible. Great car, loved driving around with the top down. Have a good day.

      Punching a clock doesn’t really allow management to keep tabs on anyone. Especially in that kind of environment where leaving the premises is part of the job description. Ie: test drives,refilling fuel tanks . If you stop and think about it just punching in and out really doesn’t let them determine how or where you spend you time throughout the day. It only lets them know you punched in at a certain time and punched out at a specific time.
      I know people are making the clock a bigger deal than it is but it’s just a feel good device implemented by management to let them feel like they are “doing something “.
      Anyway good content bro. 👍
