i LIVE the way DR John Campbell explains the pathophysiology of cardiac failure # Renin , Angiotensin , Aldosterone axis is activated once heart myocardium fails to ejaculate sufficient volume in left ventricle at each contraction #
statins damage skeletal muscle. Statin therapy induces ultrastructural damage in skeletal muscle in patients without myalgia, 2006 (and many more papers) So…heart failure patients are put on statins. And heart failure is progressive. 5:57 I don’t believe I’ve seen any evidence that muscle working harder will cause death of the muscle fiber. No need to blame a renin viscous cycle, though consensus. We’re not talking about muscle tears here, I don’t think that’s possible from heart activity. There are many known causes of muscle damage, otoh, none of which seem to get considered in heart failure: Excessive alcohol can lead to muscle damage. Long term corticosteroids. And other medical drugs like calcium blockers for blood pressure. To make things worse, it seems likely that if you have muscle pains in the trunk region, if something is damaging the skeletal muscles is probably also having an effect on the heart muscle. Unlike the highly enervated skeletal muscles, the heart muscle doesn’t have pain fibers. Lucklily it seems against old dogma the heart cells do renew, just very slowly, and of course with a barrage of crap nobody sees any improvements with time.
I'm surprised some persons have given you a thumbs down. It's a concise talk. Thank you.
The link between HF and RAAS is clearly explained and so easy to understand! Thank you!
This is the first video I've watched today. Thank you, Dr John! I'm gonna review it in order to follow you better!
Yes, it will take two or three views to get the detalis. Do try and make your own diagrams and notes as you watch.
Dr Campbell sir I salute you for your determination to spread knowledge about our heart to masses thanks 19/01/2020
Thank you very much, I'm not good in English because we study with French language but I can understand u... You are the best teacher ever 👌
Thanks a lot, Dr. Campbell for the precise explanation.
Good way of teaching... Love you from INDIA...

Thanks Dr. John!
Gold...thank you Dr Campbell.God bless thee
Thank you for such a clear explanation!
thank you Dr. Campbell. god bless
This teacher absloudly its fantastic voice
A big thank to you in 2023
This was really good
Thanks po
For my unending case studies
Thank u very much for the explanation
Thanks sir ! We need more
Thanks you so much.what is the relationship between shock and HF
The relationship of HF and RAAS is well explained but I am confused where the Atrial Natriuretic Peptides comes into play in this cycle?
Thank you Doctor
