  • The National Flower Show 2016 at Hylands House, Chelmsford was graced by English rose Mary Berry, of the Great British Bake Off.
    * First of two videos featuring Mary at Hylands House, check out the second: ua-cam.com/users/edit?video_id...
After opening the event Mary was publicly interviewed by Mig Kimpton fielding a bouquet of questions from visitors, revealing exactly how she and the team kept warm in chilly marquees.
Mary's helps and hints were a delight for gardeners and flower lovers and filmed exclusively by CRHnews for YOU TUBE viewers.
There was time to spare for Mary to buy plants and bulbs for her beloved Amersham garden as well as view the beautiful displays in the Grand Floral Pavilion and Mig's Celebrity Floral Art Competition.
The 2016 show included a stunning Grand Floral Pavilion, Country and Home Living Pavilion, Fine Food & Drink including a brand new pop-up restaurant with a variety of foods including cream teas
Visitors were also able to peruse the magnificent property and manicured gardens of the Grade II* listed property, restored by the City Council to its former glory and situated in 574 acres of historic landscaped parkland.
The grand lawn area was bursting with a whole host of attractions and entertainment showcasing over 300 exhibitors.
This year's show included a new and improved Food and Drink festival including cream teas, champagne bar and a wide variety of hot and cold refreshments - so cheers to Chelmsford City Council for yet another triumph.

She is a highly cultivated lady, cross-pollination with the finest specimens, producing top quality shoots, plus family tragedy in her life that has made her hardy, which has helped to create such a beautiful rose
