Another great show James and pat. The perch jig Rap is my go to jig . Thanks for sharing
From what I hear the pressure is insane out there right now.
Was out there yesterday and i kid you not everyone from Minnesota was out there..
Fished out of red door yesterday, all those flats where covered with people this weekend
@@Sota_adventures guess the word is out.
InDepthOutdoorsTV I don’t mind one bit! It’s everybody’s water to share, let’s get outdoors!
Just came from there. It was like a city out there. Didn’t get to mud flats but fished 2 mile reef. Did a lot better about 25 yards from shore in 6 ft of water near Liberty Beach
3:33 "...a little short for the slot...." Yeah, just a little! Love it.
I also love how a Mike Bloomberg ad played during this ice fishing video. Pretty safe to say that's money down the drain.
Definitely not the best audience targeting!
Excellent episode as usual, nice to show a close-up and explain the complete rod set up....James is still Mr. Etiquette!!
Im sitting here wishing I could be out on quinte smashing eyes and you guys lay this video on me!!! The the heck,I'm watching
We wish we can be out on the Bay of quinte with you! We've always wanted to make a trip to your body of water so in a small way we share your pain!
Were smashing them on quinte right now
Love the walleye videos!! We finally got to fish them up here in northern New York on the St.Lawrence River. Uv green tiger #6 rip n rap was the ticket
I just got back today from Mille Lacs, I've never seen so many people out on the lake. A ton of pressure right now, the bite was slow but we did gets some on the dead sticks and rattle reels.
We had a ton on tip ups with 3-5 inch shiners out in the flats. Had 4 flags go off in a 10 minute period right before sun set and landed all of them. Great weekend of fishing. Couldn't keep the tullibees off the line either. My party and i probably caught over 100+ tullibees!
Great show guys. The detailed set-up Pat gave was outstanding! In the market for mid-winter gloves. What do you recommend? Thanks.
Nice job men, I enjoy every show you put on, should come fishing rice county
Great show gents. Come back to Castle Rock soon. WRPCO is lowering the water next week...Good river channel bite. You could stay at my house, it will help the budget. 😬
I've been watching a bunch of video's of people fishing it so there is some people fishing it glad you guy's got out to enjoy it
Any chances to get you guys here to NY on Champlain? I know you guys fish the Midwest and sometimes Canada, give ole Champ a shot
Whats the depth? Was their structure that made you drill those holes?
Great video guys, was hoping to get up to Mille Lacs soon myself. The big question is lake/snow conditions. Do you need a snowmobile to get around, or is the snow shallow enough that ATV's are fine? I don't have a snowmobile so that's a major factor
Trucks were traveling on the lake. Most seemed to be accessing from the East side of the lake. We assume Hunter's was/is a good access point but recommend calling ahead for an update on conditions.
Was on mille lacs this weekend with my toyota rav4 and was able to get around pretty well off road. Just watch out for snow drifts and you'll be fine. Trucks hauling ice houses did have some trouble if they chose to go off the plow roads, but nothing they couldn't get out of eventually. Lol.
The snow is really hard I was there today with any truck you can get anywhere because you are basically driving on top of the snow
Is Pat wearing Lacrosse Alphaburly Pro boots? If so, how much insulation and do they keep feet warm in cold temps? Good show!
Finally a mille lac mudflat video
Good stuff 👍
I was at that access last year
Do you guys do anything to modify your jigging raps? I've always thought about cutting off the front and back ones.....most of the time I catch walleyes with the bottom hook on these- I usually put a slightly larger red mustad treble with a slightly longer shank on mine. I've caught catfish and larger walleyes that have basically mangled the original hook that comes with these lures, haha.
Big fan Of lndepth outdoors I was wondering if it was possible for you guys to do an episode on gull Lake or the whitefish chain in the brainerd area and my name is Eric
When did you guys part from Marcum? Hate to see that, Marcum is such a awesome product! Even better customer service.
We parted ways at the end of the year. Lots of friends over there so we wish them well.
11:10 Ice conditions are in good shape?? Don't tell that to Red Lake or Winnibigoshish this year
This video was not shot on a weekend or anywhere near plowed roads... You need to own a snowmobile and be really mobile.... guaranteed this was shot mid week when all of us are working....
There were trucks driving anywhere they wanted to go around us... There was almost no snow on the lake. You could use whatever form of transportation you wanted... Snowmobile, ATV, truck, rickshaw, magic carpet. 👍
InDepthOutdoorsTV interesting... There was a lot of people out there this weekend and the reports were that the fishing was extremely slow...
Was out there this weekend wasn’t fast by any means but def wasn’t slow.
Pretty sure they never film on weekends.. who would? You can get pretty much anywhere with a truck and no plowed roads right now
Try Merrifield side North Long
Hey guys. Which boots specifically are you wearing in this episode. Thanks
James was wearing Baffin Apex Boots
@@InDepthOutdoorsTVthanks for replying. Would you recommended them for extreme cold . I'm up in Alberta Canada its brutally cold at time. Or do you suggest others. Btw i just subscribed after watching this vid. You guys are easy to watch. Keep the hardwater vids coming.
Absolutely would recommend. A number of the guys have worn nothing but the apex for years.
Still strange to see you guys fishing with birds.....what's next......hmmmm hey that new ion g2 is a beast even faster than the lithium 40v. Give it a shot😄
Yes sir, times change. 👍
what auger mount is that with the flat base???
What auger mount are you using on the sled?
Kolpin Rhino. www.kolpin.com/rhino-grip-pro-universal-mount
@2:53 what were thous Lakewood boxes ?
Lakewood makes a padded rod storage case that we've been using this season.
People I know quit going because of the possession limit you can keep.
Definitely not the lake 4 guys that want to take home a limit of fish.
@@InDepthOutdoorsTV Yeah, its too bad because Economics now play's a role into where a person's destination Ice Fishing trips are if your going to hopefully catch fish, plus keep a decent possession limit to take home or if your going just to basically play catch and release that you can afford to take those type of destination Ice Fishing trips. Still fun to go catch them though and Walmart still carries the Van de Kemp brand if a person wants fish to eat, lol.
North Dakota has a 5 fish a day limit, and a 2 day possession limit.
The big plus is...No slot limit BS.
So I’m looking for just a flasher unit and idk if I should get the lx7 marcum or the new humminbird flasher
Bird.
I’m a Vex guy, but talked to a couple guys with newer ‘birds and they said the battery life is awful. Something to look into
I have the cheap hummingbird flasher, you are getting what you paid for but I can fish for 2 weeks straight and not have to charge.
Brian B hey man thank you just lookin into new flashers and stuff but any info helps man!
TheMorphman thanks man
How thick is the ice? Anybody know if you can a drive truck out on there?
Pickup trucks were out on the lake coming off the Eastside. I would guess they were accessing at Hunter's point but I would recommend calling ahead to verify. Ice was 15 inches in the areas we fished but always check with the resort you run out of for the latest on ice conditions.
Buckn Doe trucks and wheelhouses have been out for a while now. Buddy hauled his castle up last week and said no trouble getting around from Hunters. Heard about a giant heave near Garrison, not sure if it got bridged yet.
No one is fishing because all ice fishing gadgets are expensive, everyone needs to work hard for them all week.
Do a giveaway lol what happened to all the giveaways
As it turns out we have one coming towards the end of the month with more to follow after that. 👍
I'm sure the Fishsmart app is great, but I really wish it wasn't such a blatant cash grab. I've purchased two lakemaster chips at ~$130 each. Why can't they just allow you to register your chip or something like that instead of having to pay 10-20 bucks for a single lake?
You expect an answer here?
@@InDepthOutdoorsTV No lol I was just venting
@@pyro2611 Roger that. We honestly don't have any answer to offer. 😁
