In the tv series, the wandering dervish Shams searching for his sheikh who can lead him to lost in God's love. I only watch 1 episode but ma sha Allah I love how he ecstaticed in looking for God's love. Those who don't get thirsty for spirituality might call him crazy.

Have you read Philip Sherrard? He was a philosopher, translator, and lay-theologian of Eastern Orthodox Christianity, and his books are heavy on metaphysics like the authors and books you outlined in your video.

Rumi was an earthly scholar but Shams had divine connection. Rumi's literature is a unique blend of both.❤

The modern world is great especially since most of us exist because of it. This guy was an academic, its all good for him to complain, try being working class, theres nothing romantic about slavery.

I have regarded myself as a perennialist for the last 44 years. I have read everything. those authors wrote. What I don't agree with the Guenonian Schuonian practical application which is that you HAVE to become a member of an orthodox religion to be a proper perennial traditionalist. That has never worked for me because I dislike all rituals, sacraments, externalities of religions and though I tried and tried again and again I could never make any religion my home. Tried all streams of Christianity, Islamic Sufism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism and religious Daoism. I failed miserably. So I have decided to follow my own brand of Perennial Wisdom and practice it the best way I can.

Iman, one of the difficulties regarding to sociology is that we find at least 5 objects. The parters of sociology have no unanimity in this regard, so it's possible to see the rising of 5 different kinds of sociology, but under the same name. What is the "object" the metaphysics studies? And what is the "object" of philosophy?

Thank you for this clear, cogent overview. I have found Schuon to be almost impenetrable; this is not a criticism of Schuon but an admission of my own limited capabilities. The books I have found most helpful are James Cutsinger's Advice to the Serious Seeker and Kenneth (Harry) Oldmeadow's Traditionalism. I pass these titles along for those who may share my difficulty. I hope that as I learn more, Schuon will be less opaque to me.

Why are you perpetuating a false portrait of Meister Eckhart? The portrait shown is not that of Meister Eckhart - it is that of Fra Teodoro of Urbino. It was painted around 1515 by Giovanni Bellini. The original painting now belongs to a museum in London, but is on loan to the National Gallery, also in London. A correct portrait is shown on Wiki and is completely different to the one above.

When I come across so much beauty by way of poetry, I realize how much I still have to learn, read and experience. There was this very polite and educated individual that once told me that (and I hope I do not miss anything as some information may be lost in translation) The Arabic Language is like a Master Language for Poets as it gets very close to putting in to words very deep feelings. I feel that as I do not no Arabic that I AM really missing out on a lot... Thank-You very much for this video; for some reason, it means the World to me.

Thank you for your very educative video. The street in front of the National gallery, Colombo was known as Ananda Coomaraswamy Mawatha, unfortunately the corrupt Rajapakse regime removed his name and give a different name. Very sad indeed. I hope the new government that is about to come into power on 22nd of September 2024 will do justice to him.

They who believe in God killed people. But who perceived God never did that. The mind can never know the god. But the silent mind (free from desire, hate, jealousy, anxiety....) Can capture that. In silence in nothingness there is all
