I was able to run Dark cloud 1 and 2 108 times it’s native resolution at 8k and stable 60fps 16:9 aspect ration with better colors and i will try to upscale the textures as well and add HDR probably When I’m done I’m gonna upload it on My UA-cam Channel UnboxExp if you wanna check it out!!!
One of my first RPGs that I have played. Told my mom to buy it for me 10 years ago and to this day, right now I still play it. Best investment I have ever made. Love the story and the soundtrack. :)

DVGaming and two things that are cool about it is how the battle music doesn't play when you get close to enemies like it does in every other dungeon, and the other thing is how instead of going deeper and deeper into the dungeon, you're going farther and farther back in time, and the dungeon gets neater and less aged the further back you go, until finally getting to the "Night of the Incident", which is one of the most ominous titles I've heard! 😯💀
The perfect theme for a kingdom, ruined by the lust for power, giving in to the darkness. Not sure, but I feel as if this was so much more powerful because of Seda's decision to sacrifice himself. Either way, brilliant. Thanks for the upload my good friend.
Crazy part is that he doesn't actually die when he just stab himself he just reset himself to pieces of his memories so Toan can gather them in the gallery of time to reset everything right.

This song terrified me as a kid, and made me want to end the levels as quickly as possible. Sometimes I would just leave the dungeon, or straight-up turn off my PS2 because it got to be too much lmao.

This game is a masterpiece I own it on PS2 for many years since I was a kid I'm 23 now and I recently bought it again on ps4 digitally and I'm proud to own both the original and PS4 version I highly recommend this to anyone that likes RPG games this title will always have a special place in my heart and I will continue to play this for many years to come and I may introduce it to my future children if I end up with any

Honestly kept thinking Seda was going to be your final party member, but I guess not. :( Then again, I kept thinking there was a Backstage area that you could access in GOT, and it turns out, you can't! :( But that's okay, because the game's Post-story Optional Dungeon more than makes up for it!
Fun thing I remember noticing after revisiting this game: this theme is the only track that doesn't get overwritten by the battle theme at all. Not even the Demon Shaft could get that luxury.
THIS brings back memories.. I way overplayed this game, got the chronicle before I even got the guy with the hammer. That werewolf back area was the best in the whole game for experience, farmed the crap out of it and maxed everyones weapons to the limit before the final boss (before the knight)
A glitch during the localization of the game kind of made that be not happening. I mean, why do you think the optional dungeon (Mentioned in Dark Cloud 2, but never visited proper) was added in for the American Release?
@@ISDL29TV it was gonna be in dark cloud 2 but since we lost out on flapping duster, they put the concept in dark cloud 1 instead. dark cloud 2 got zelmite mines in place of demon shaft, but only 38 floors instead of 100 because let's be real... 100 floors of an optional dungeon? how devoted are the players to want to do THAT again?
i recently got the platinum for this game, i played it to death on my PS2 so was confident i would easily get the platinum, yeah fat chance, the proceduraly generated dungeons made sure that would not make it easy... and that is a good thing.
Just sayin' but am I the only one who (Prolly blind enough) thought that the red splatters on the floor was blood? It wasn't untill later that i realized it was just worn out rugs.XD
I love how this is considered an achievement now lol. Unused to be impressed by working NES systems but now it's PS2's :P I have this game and a working system as well, I finally completed the game aa couple of days ago. I'm moving onto its sequel now, Dark Chronicle.

I remember fighting this, i had the seventh heaven and toan was the only character u REALLY upgraded. i remember switching to ruby on part 2 to shoot at that tongue thing. then i realized i could hit it as toan. felt like an idiot.
The final six floors of this dungeon will make you deeply regret only using one or two characters the whole game.

To make arguably the strongest Synthsphere attackwise only behind a Chronicle2... I did build up another Chronicle though.

I'm dying to see another entry in this series. It was so unique for it's time, and I think it'd still stand out today if there was another one.
I was waiting patiently for any news on Dark Cloud 3, only to hear that Level 5 went under after their work on White Knight Chronicles. What a shame.

Actually, in the beta, he WAS your final party member. He was replaced by Osmond.
