This is one of the most profound moments in the series. Before this, the Cylons were always one step ahead. This was the moment that the colonials took a victory. Best series ever. Period.
I met the original actor to play Boomer and asked him his thoughts.. he said his version was what humanity could be… and this version is what humanity currently is… very apt description… nice guy
Wow, Battlestar Galactica Deadlock copy even the tactical board for the ships, they really did a good job with that game, and I understand why they didn't do with Empire at War real time strategy for the space battles, because with ships like Battlestars is all about tactics, I learned that in the hard way in my last mission, I was lost my ships twice till I learned that I have to be more defensive if I wanted to win the battle and not blow into pieces, and even then I lost one of my frigates.
OH, hell yeah! What a great battle that was. As I'm watching this clip I'm quoting along with the characters. It's giving me goosebumps. :D It might be time to re-watch the series!!
They mastered traveling faster than light, building AI androids - and dogfight like in World War 1. No tracking systems, no HUD, no rockets or laser beams just normal ammunition. I don't get it.
Well, maybe they progressed differently. And maybe some of that tech like HUDs could have been exploited by the Cylons like the other tech they couldn’t use. But ultimately it’s a tv show and dog fights are just more exciting.
the HUD thing I buy, although these are older fighters, it's basically like taking early cold war equipment into battle today. Missiles and rockets are actually explained, Cylon cyber warfare interferes with targeting systems, returns the missiles right back to sender. No lasers in reboot BSG, no energy weapons of any kids, it's all ballistics.
@@dalethelander3781 I’m sure he doesn’t make mistakes in filming cause the lights are there to film the face of actors wearing the helmets otherwise the whole shot would be lit up and take away the ambiance of being in dark space
This scene in the situation room really needs to be reworked using 4chan troll faces. The amount of lulz Husker and Starbuck have pulled on the poor civies is immense.
YT algorithm must've pushed this clip out to a boomer demographic given these comments. I know you folks miss daggits, Boxey, etc but the reboot was just a vastly superior show, hands down.
0:38 I'm putting my psychiatrist hat on (that I earned by eating a whole box of Cracker Jacks) and am wondering if Starbuck's subconscious is trying to help out by accessing the non-existent cylon baseship datastream on Galactica? Baltar seems to see it as well.
I really didn't care for all the screaming pilots in the new series, I think I may have gotten to season 3 over the years but can only handle 1 or 2 episodes at a time.
Now, I remember why I did not get hooked on the new Galactica. I hate the filming style. Hands free intentional wobling makes me sick. During intense scenes on the bridge ok. I may buy it is film by a sort of journalist but in space stop moving the &?@$%? cameras. 60 minutes of intentional fake shaking is not OK.
"Old habits die hard". And in this case the "putting a new piece on the board" made an already dramatic scene even more dramatic. When I was in the Navy we had just started using Sat Nav regularly. Anytime the old man (Captain) was discussing things we were standing around a paper chart that had both our current position, our past positions, and our course laid out. At any time power could go out, satellites knocked out of the sky, etc. Warships always plan for the worst. Other than losing that current future information, we would be unfazed as we already had manual processes actively running. To me, it seemed very plausible, especially knowing Adama's dislike for relying on technology (I mean it was what they were fighting).
The original Galactica series is still better. Such shaky camerawork here. Best theme music yet for old series! And how do you beat Lorne Greene and John Colicos and Lloyd Bridges? Or the Cylon base & ships & Cylons??
It was just a different show, made to build off the popularity of Star Wars. I liked the original too, but it was a Big Mac and this is filet mignon. Both delicious but very different.

To think this show is already over 19yr old is crazy
I was thinking this myself.
And to think that shakycam is that old…
give it up for hotdog, low key the best pilot in the fleet
I would say Starbuck but okay
Adama was proud for sure
Yeah, and he also got an STD.
Nah. Kat.
Starbuck, Kat and then Hot Dog

I started rewatching the series on

I’m shocked at how good the free version of Peacock is.
Yeah, Peacock really isn't all that bad for free.

My favorite episode was the one where Adama teaches the pilots calculus.
Which episode is that one
"How can I reach these keeds"
@@samott5043 Stand and Deliver
My favorite one is where he goes to prison and forms a gang
Really? I don't remember Lorne Green ever doing that in the series.
Chuckles bought it.
Apollo's girlfriend, Dee: "Apollo, the backdoor is open, the backdoor is open".
Man, I wish my girlfriend would tell me that ! 😄😄😄
Jesus, the scream at the end. Blood curdling.
Stepchild spent a bit too much time watching and reporting what happened to Chuckles, and not watching was was coming for her, unfortunately.
@Uncky Hitlor you'd scream like that the moment you got shot at
@Uncky Hitlor thats bullshit right there. Had zero issues with the ones I served in hot zones with!
Loved this show. Vastly superior to the original and I say that as someone who watched the original when it was first broadcast

Is there a clip with the scene what happened after this?
I love this show
Best sci-fi EVER on tv.
Some would say Star Trek and Doctor Who!
The Expanse is really good too! Dark Matter had some potential but…
They can’t see anything with their faces all lit up in the helmets
Ron Moore doesn't make mistakes. The light reduces eye strain.

Time for the Vipers to serve up a sandwich, Battlestar Galactica-style!

Epic!
You cut the scene right before Apolo flies in solo...? Are your editors for this channel out of their minds?
They've featured that scene many times before.

The Fleet needed more daggits, we did meet Boxy once.
I don't think 52 makes me a boomer? Gen X actually.
Boomer here, I agree that the BSG II is the far superior series on every level.
Indeed
Boomer here, and the remake (albeit with its narrative defects) was an immensely superior show: certainly my favorite space scifi show.
Awesome, to the extent you have gone maybe Elon would donate you a few used raptor engines.

In the “78” version we got Viper pilot “Greenbeam”, in “04” version we got “Hot Dog”, what will we get in thd next BSG show “Flapjacks”
Superior Show - whoever has not seen this show , shame on them
The Expanse is pretty good too! I'd put the final season ending of that up against the final episodes of Star Trek: TNG and this version of BSG
