One company in the U.K. offered me £245 for one of my seasonal Chanel bags that is almost 20 years old. I know it’s old but £245!!! I’ve used a reseller on IG to sell 2 of my Chanel bags & also purchased from her, amazing service ❤

Brilliant Deb, I'm sure this will be so helpful to many who haven't been through a market correction before. I'm a retired bank executive, always managed my own finances, and bought & sold many houses. Most of my luxury bag purchases are preloved, because of the money I've saved. (I grew up in the '70's during high inflation and 20% interest rates, so saving money is in my DNA). Unfortunately many will learn the hard way that luxury bags are not an "investment".

I’m a realtor in the US. Everything you said about selling a bag is identical to selling a home. Everyone thinks their home is SO special because they did this or that to it 5 years ago. Then there is the discussion about commission. A Realtor (in the US) is an independent contractor. Taxes, websites, marketing, professional licenses, etc are HUGE expenses!! It’s so frustrating! I wish everyone had your basic understanding of what’s fair in a business transaction.
Bottom line as you put it so aptly: a product is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.
I think it comes from having experience in the business world. We have to pay for the service people provide. X

Vestiere Collective is the worst. They do not have a “live” customer support. They have a chat, that’s it, so if you run into issues ( which may happen) you are screwed. I purchased something based on the size description… received a completely size bag. I returned however they didn’t refund d me because they said bag was as described, which was not! I had to dispute with my credit card to cancel the charge. They said they would re sell it for me, however for a lower price! That’s fraud.

I've sold bags to Fashionphile, TRR, etc. as well as sold them myself. With the companies, there are ups and downs as part of the process. Some companies are better to deal with than others are.
