I agree. If I can get 50-75% (depending on condition) of the original value then I take that as a win. It makes me more money than sitting in my closet collecting dust.
@@rosannagomez8040There's 1 in the FB group now for $4300 for black Friday sale fyi. I would buy it but I have too many black bags and want a beige Chanel 19 instead.
I think lux brands heavily increasing their prices has also slowed the market. You can't reap huge profits on the resale market off hot items when they're so eye-wateringly expensive in store. Like the LV xmas animation SLGs used to sell out almost immediately online and would end up on the re-sale market for twice the price. Not any more
Thankfully never felt the need to sell but I have bought from Connor at Conrad’s Closet several times and I think if I was to sell a bag, it would be that way. I’d hate the stress of it all! Let the professionals handle it.
I just sold a tweed Chanel bag through a buy out with an online consigner because it was on several sites for almost a year without any offers that would give me more money than the buy out. So sometimes it’s better to do a buy out.
I put a celine on poshmark and i was getting offers ... $300; $275 etc. I just do not think any of this is a good investment. Buy what you want to wear and love not to invest in.
Yes, this is crazy. I just got a quote from Rebag for a Chanel vanity case. I bought the bag in 2021 for $5000 before tax. Guess how much they offered for that bag? I could not believe my eyes when I saw the number. $1675 is their buyout price.
I can't imagine which bag as of now you would even want to sell. All your bags are stunning. Love seeing all your eye candy behind you. Have a wonderful weekend.
Honestly, I wouldn’t even mention eBay as an option. They are so heavily geared towards the buyer that it’s just too risky as a seller with designer goods. Sellers are just told to refund buyers under the most ridiculous circumstances and I’ve known sellers who have ended up with no bag and no money. It’s fine for inexpensive items but not for individual sellers with high value items.
I have been selling my handbags on ebay for the last few years and I disagree. I have rarely lost money on reselling via ebay and have profited on certain brands like Chanel and goyard. I had an issue with a dishonest buyer once and ebay sided with me. As long as you follow their policies, you should be fine. I have not found it risky. I recently resold a goyard bag and recovered all of my money where as fashionphile was offering me 30% less! For me, ebay has been great!
Im so happy i got my Valentino half price, 3 of them. I missed our on Lady Dior ( but it has its quirk) and Chanel and in a way LV.....even picotin from Hermes is almost considered a quota bag now. Selling bags is stressful 😭.
People have more peace of mind purchasing from a business than an individual seller. I have bought from FP but will only sell on eBay. It’s really not much hassle to upload some pics and write a description…but I have done this quite frequently. I can understand that someone who is not used to selling, lacks a seller history would find the process of selling overwhelming.
i've been wanting to sell my medium chanel 19 in pink tweed in excellent condition. however i have yet to pull the trigger because i know this is not a sought-after bag. i will not be getting what i paid. also, i have yet to even use it. i will patiently wait and see how the market is next yr.
I have sold just one bag so far and lost 1/2 my money but it wasn’t a popular bag..I wouldn’t sell anything that I remotely love coz it’s too much of a loss 😢
Hi! I've been wanting to purchase my first luxury item.. But I'm struggling between buying either a bag or RTW pieces (outerwear like coats jackets blazers). What would u suggest?
I have always lost money but i view it as anything back is better than the 100 percent loss of the money sunk into a bag your not using

Which is how it always has been until the past couple of years of over inflated prices.
Such a good way to look at it
This is a normal market. The inflated prices of recent years was a bubble. This is what happens when a bubble bursts.
Like the 19 in black?
@@rosannagomez8040In the preloved market in the FB groups, I see them still around $5000 USD (give or take).

I don’t agree with that, the resale market will come back
I agree. During the pandemic I sold a lot of bags, it has definitely slowed down.

I do agree with that, some of the price rises are crazy
Who would have thought pandemic would drive the luxury resale market 🤣🤣🤣 now here we are back at normality!
Very true, it definitely created a bubble!
Thankfully never felt the need to sell but I have bought from Connor at Conrad’s Closet several times and I think if I was to sell a bag, it would be that way. I’d hate the stress of it all! Let the professionals handle it.
Agree with letting professionals deal with it!

I think that’s a great option
The market is so dead at the moment! But great advice to all those who are trying to sell.
Thank you my love x

That is crazy low

Don’t deal with Rebag
That’s better than they offered me for a $5k bag that they less than $900 … and it’s in pristine condition and on their “most wanted” list!
I guess it’s a good time to buy.
I think so
I can't imagine which bag as of now you would even want to sell. All your bags are stunning. Love seeing all your eye candy behind you. Have a wonderful weekend.
Oh thank you!

Has this not been resolved since luxury goods now get sent to an authenticator who sends it to the buyer after authentication?
@@AnUrbanGypsy yes! eBay is the best platform to sell your handbags!
I definitely welcome ebay now having an authentication service
Great advice..I have sold a couple of bags with Vestiaire ..and it’s true buyers offer really low prices..patience pays off tfs
So true!
Sometimes it’s good for buyers but now it’s harder to find a variety of bags because people are holding off to sell too.
That is very true
I think ive been quite lucky with selling but I don’t like selling it has definitely made me really think about my purchases ❤
Selling isn’t my favourite thing to do either!

Ive gotten 75-85% used bags. I go between fashionphile and rebag
I love fashionphile!
Hi Amelia. Good info. I hope you're having a good weekend 💗
Thank you so much!
@@ameliarosesclosetyou're welcome
I feel the luxury car market is in a similar situation now
Has the car market slowed down?
Great video Amelia. Definitely different times now for sure!
Over the luxury bubble!
Hermes is easy to sell now.vintage chanel as well.other than that, other brands are slow.
Very true
Thanks for sharing, great video.
Thanks for watching!
I hear you! But why do sites like fashionphile and realreal have used bags that are still available new for almost retail?

They do at times, i’ve noticed that
I have a large ysl bag unused I'd love to sell but no idea what or where to start
a consignor may be a safe way to go
LV is the worst. Just bc retail prices are high doesn't mean their old items are worth more, esp with dirty vachetta.
Agreed

which will you get the most wear out of it, you don't want your first piece to be more in the closet than with you
Is your red quilt pattern Chanel a lamb skin or caviar? I am considering selling mine is lamb.
mine is caviar
Im traveling to London this Xmas. Any Chanel bags you want to sell?
Ohh i might let at least one go
