That 'redundant stem portion' can also be propagated. Just lay it on top of soil and it will soon develop roots and offsets. I do this will all my stem chops and have always had success.

Thank you for your comment. I have tried propagating the stem but it has never worked for me. Others have communicated that they have had success, like you, but I wouldn't really call it an easy propagation method

@@GardeningatDouentza Just need time and patience. I did it as an experiment and buds have formed but nearly 3-4 months later.

If you take out the center leaves it will form multiple head s for each stem and in about two months they will be bouquets

The centre leaves on a single rosette? Never heard that. Thanks.

Great video, thank you. I live in Dublin and I'm wondering if Aeoniums (potted) can be outdoors now. I've potted one up today (dark plum in colour), used JI no.2, grit and perlite and potted into terracotta pot, I only lightly it and have put out onto the patio. It's rainning here now, so can I leave it outdoors now and at this time of year? Hope you can help.
    Regards

Tina, I would wait until May before placing aeoniums outdoors, especially with all this rain. Rain and cold are a deadly combination.

@@GardeningatDouentza Many thanks for the quick reply, I brought it indoors earlier just in case, so I will keep indoors now until May or last frosts as you suggest. Thanks again, keep up your great work, love it 👏🤗

Which fertiliser is the best for Aeonium and how can I make it to grow dark purple florets. 😊 Thank you

If your aeonium is a dark variety, light and sun will bring that colour out!

I used Yates thrive which is a general liquid fertilizer and it took off.
