  • Hey everyone! Today is our first full day of our Japan April 2018 trip and we're spending the whole day in Kanazawa! Kanazawa is a large city on the northern shore of Japan's main island (Honshu). We visited a Ninja Temple (but what kind of Ninja Temple?!), one of Japan's most beautiful gardens, Kanazawa Castle Park, and ate at the classically named Godburger! Thanks so much for watching! More trains and Matsumoto in the next vlog!

    I am hoping to go to Japan in the next 2 or 3 years (one of my big dreams currently) and I am really enjoying this series! The first video gave me a good idea of what to expect when it came to traveling, and these last two have been just fascinating to watch. I'm trying to take in what I can to have a good idea what to expect!

    So in my experience i think i have worked out that an express train is a fast train & a limited express train is that same train but with less stops so faster as it avoids the smaller stops & i know the Shinkansen is called the super express. Enjoying the vlogs! it is a like a documentary of my own trip!

    • @thisNatasha
      @thisNatasha  6 років тому

      Oh yes that's it!!!! I remember reading that somewhere!!! The "limited" word really confuses me (speaking about vocab!). Thanks so much Gareth! Where else did you go on your trip!?

    hi, nice video! btw you should have tried the onigiri at 6:50. it is kinda our speciality from the Hokuriku region. I am from Kanazawa and my mom often made this onigiri, when I had a school trip:)

    Hello!! Love your vlogs i have been watching for a while and love the way you interact with the camera/audience. I am trying to get over my awkwardness to talk to the camera like you do! Every vlog hopefully gets better :) If you have any suggestions i would be so grateful!
    I also have a question about your trip. I am going to Japan in 2 weeks (yippeeee) and I wanted to know your opinion about Himeji castle vs Matsumoto castle. We are visiting Hiroshima for 1 night then travelling to Tokyo the next day. I wanted to stop at either Himeji castle (easier option) or Matsumoto castle. I wont be able to stay overnight just stop for a cpl of hours to see the castle then move on to Tokyo. Which would you recommend? Thanks so much!

    • @thisNatasha
      @thisNatasha  6 років тому

      Oh two weeks!!!! EXCITING!!!! Ok - my honest answer is Himeji. Matsumoto is AWESOME too, but Himeji is a more complete day out with a lot more things to do in one day - and it's HUGE! Matsumoto is lovely, old, and unique with it's colouring, and Himeji is massive, with winding corridors and that brilliant white! Plus - as you said - it's a very easy stop on the way to Tokyo on the bullet train. Finally the shopping mall on top of Himeji Station is very good for food before or after visiting the castle. I hope this helps - let me know how it goes!!! Also - I hope things go well with your vlogging! Camera awkwardness is tough - I just think of the camera as a little metal box - nothing else - and how scary is a little metal box right?! Also, I sometimes shoot things again, and again, and again. And each time the speech gets a little easier. You may notice I stumble words a lot; sometimes I shoot again and sometimes I make a joke out of it, depends on the situation. Oh and finally - the more you do it the easier it gets! So keep going! I subbed to your channel - looking forward to the videos!!! :D

    Just found your videos there amazing 😁 I am from the UK to and am planning to go japan in about a year I am really worried about the language barrier though 😟 do you find it to be a big issue? Thanks for the amazing videos 😌😊

    • @thisNatasha
      @thisNatasha  5 років тому

      Ah thanks so much!!! I speak a little bit of Japanese which helps - but generally it’s quite easy! All the signage is in English and Japanese - and most younger people speak English as they’re taught in school. If you’re travelling much out of Tokyo or Kyoto I would make sure you have internet connection so you can use google translate or another translate app just in case you’re stuck!

    Where did they sleep in the castle? Did not look there was space for living in it.

    • @thisNatasha
      @thisNatasha  4 роки тому +1

      I don't think anyone slept there - or if they did it would just have been the lord (and they probably slept in rooms on the ground floor rather than in the tower). The tower is more like a fortified fort - it's made for viewing the surrounding lands and for battles!

    If you get a multi day rail pass you should save a lot. And the NEX from Narita is free with it

    If you took the FREE English tour guide, they would have given you all the info regarding the castle. It’s the oldest original standing in Japan.
