An amazing speech by an amazingly gifted football player who is an even better person than he is a football player, not many people in this world are as down to earth and giving as J.J. is! Not that you will ever see this J.J., but thank you for being who you are, an first class person all the way around!!!

Our daughter graduated 2017 from UW-MADISON and did most of it own her own, her choice.
We hope her path forward will be fulfilling, positive, meaningful and interesting.
J.J. Watt thank you for BRILLIANT words and thoughts. Your insight, lessons learned and maturity will stand you and those who were in the stadium to follow your example.
    Thank you

Watt for Prez, and The Rock as VP. Most jacked and athletic White House ever. Have to move all the chairs and desks out of the Oval Office to make room for tire flips and weight racks and benches

That's right guys. We keep getting presidents who either lack integrity or backbone....or both. We need someone who comes with BOTH essential qualities. I hope I live to see that day.

I have listened to many commencement speeches that were extremely boring to very interesting. The opportunity to speak at a commencement is an honor that deserves respect and time to prepare, but the one thing that a speaker needs to be themselves. The worse speech I heard was given by someone who ran for governor of my state to the best speech given by someone. The best speech I heard came from the speaker who educated their children first then they went to college when their grandchildren asked them when will they get their degree.

Amidst the positive lauds for Watts - go ahead and criticize me - but all I'm saying is that different types of people respond to different types of "speechers." (This is a mere notation: the word is divisive not "diversive." And I'm not trying to be divisive!) Yes, he had good points, yes he's a motivating speaker, yes he's tough. But many people don't relate well to his orientation of sport ability. Mine is more intellectual and spiritual (I must give credit to God and his help). We need help but truth is, believe it or not, when you ask for help most of the time people just don't want to help you (what you're trying to accomplish is not interesting to them or doesn't have universal appeal).

He does not impress me. Maybe I’m tainted , maybe I don’t like people who give a commencement speech and butcher the English language. Maybe I don’t like jocks telling me to find my dreams. Maybe my mind grew up. Maybe I don’t like virtue signaling. Maybe I don’t like to take advice from rich people who haven’t lived a full life. Maybe I don’t like echo chambers. Maybe I don’t like pep rallies conducted by the varsity football coach. Maybe I don’t like an academic event taken over by a successful jock telling glory day stories.

Joseph Torreski what's wrong with that? Nobody gets to choose who they are or where they're from. He just has made the most of it. There are also a TON of people "set up from the beginning" who do nothing with their lives.
