Watt is so loved in Houston that he can live here for the rest of his life and not have to spend a single dime. I'm not kidding, we love him and everything he did for our city, even my friends who have no clue about the NFL know him and appreciate him. He's straight up royalty in this city tbh and I love that he has mutual love for the team and the city.

People forget his rookie year, when 3 little kids lost their parents and were all hospitalized after an accident. JJ told his people to go take care of their bills while he also visited them and let them know they were not alone. He just said that he heard their story and being new in Houston, he could empathize with being alone. Also swore everyone to secrecy.

Man, the image at 1:46 took me back. I met JJ Watt at some private event by an oilfield company in Midland, Texas in 2012. We had a chance to ask him some questions so I asked why he wore 99. He said it was because he wore 9 in high school, and when he wasn't able to wear that number anymore, he decided to double it up and go with 99. It was a much more interesting answer than I expected honestly, I thought it was just because it was the biggest number but apparently there was more to it than that. This may not be the most interesting fact in the world but it's a special one to me.

I was 8 years old at the time when I hear him was drafted and see his dominants in 2012 all the way to 2019. That’s how good he was. Until the younger manager drop JJ and D. Hopkins. And that’s another down fall for the Texans. Two good players at the time for the Texans were A. I've been watching the NFL for almost 40 years. I would put him up there with Reggie White. He is the only defensive player besides LT to win games by himself. I would say his peak was better than Donald's, but Donald will probably have the better career when all is said and done.
