One of the most fearsome DE in his era. And an even better man in real life.
Watt deserves the HOF and so much more
He’s a first ballot Hall of Famer, no question about it. I also agree, JJ Watt is a great person as well.
Watt did so much for houston, hes a great guy.
The big brother every man deserves
Would you rather have JJ or TJ as a rookie on your team's defensive line!
@@Jay-n262I say JJ & honestly I think JJ is a better overall plyr too! JJ was just a beast yo! He just wrecked games! He was almost unblockable during those 3-4 yrs he had b2b2b where he won two DPOY awards! I think b2b DPOY too if I'm not mistaken..
I just wish he won a Super Bowl.
It’s sad he wasted his career on the Texans he was just to loyal
He deserved one
Same
@@chilledvibes7470 maybe
I think everyone has
Watt is so loved in Houston that he can live here for the rest of his life and not have to spend a single dime. I'm not kidding, we love him and everything he did for our city, even my friends who have no clue about the NFL know him and appreciate him. He's straight up royalty in this city tbh and I love that he has mutual love for the team and the city.
Lmao this guy would let JJ impregnate his wife too
The team is absolute trash. Who would love that franchise? Lol
@@jarlwhiterun7478keep sleeping bud 😈
@@jarlwhiterun7478 JJ Watt clearly does and so does Demeco Ryans? What are you even on.
@@jarlwhiterun7478 keep on hating!!
Bro, I watched this man play his entire career. In his prime, Watt was A PROBLEM. He should have won MVP in 2014.
Definitely should have won MVP. When the race is one defensive player and a qb. They should have picked the defensive player for the fan candy
I think they should’ve too. He deserved it. Plus it would’ve cemented his legacy as the best or easy top 5 defensive players ever
YES. Dude was unreal.
Defenders who wreck games are far more valuable than offensive players who control a game. Watt deserved it over Fraudgers.
Not a problem, THE problem haha
Even when he was the enemy on the opposite side of the team, I will always respect JJ Watt. And I will always remember him for his role on the Houston, hurricane relief efforts
She?!?!
Trans icon JJ Watt 🏳️⚧️
She trololol
My bad “he”
People forget his rookie year, when 3 little kids lost their parents and were all hospitalized after an accident. JJ told his people to go take care of their bills while he also visited them and let them know they were not alone. He just said that he heard their story and being new in Houston, he could empathize with being alone. Also swore everyone to secrecy.
If a hospital employee hadn't blabbed, no one would have ever known.
Houston Texans fan here - this man was huge impact against any team. Requiring double teams, TE's to block, taking so much attention to one side no matter what side he lined up on. I forever and always will say that he deserved MVP!
Texan fan here too... today is opening day 2023.....'hey ho let's go '❤😅❤😅
2-2 so far let's keep going
@@Rez12121 Bulls On Parade Baby!!!!
the new age! Loving it even if we have another losing season, progress is being made!@@Rez12121
As a little girl growing up in Houston everyone and their mom was obsessed with him
Really? Lol I can actually see that though. Very Americana Macho male vibes
@mankuro the women in my family all swooned over JJ lol
@mankuro he had a crazy low body fat percentage. Usually guys at his position have a belly but he's fucking shredded.
his texans days were insane
“Every other year Watt”
Uh, what?
Dude was a beast and had The NFL on notice. Was fun to watch. Great video
Houston Fan here! JJ Watt is the one dude I can think of that signs a $100,000,000 contract and no one thinks that it was an over pay. Saying he is beloved in Houston is a major understatement. On the field and more importantly off the field, he was the absolute best
JJ’s the reason I started playing football, and I’m so sad he couldn’t get a ring before he went out 😔
Watt being a pizza delivery guy makes his SNL skit a lot funnier lol
I moved to Houston a month after hurricane Harvey and lived there til 2020.. I was expecting absolute destruction but they came together and recovered faster and stronger than I ever could have imagined and the biggest contributor to that was JJ Watt and let me tell you that city absolutely loves JJ Watt.. JJ was so loved in Houston he was Houston.. at any given time anywhere in Houston you’ll look and see at least 1 person wearing a 99 jersey.. the city had some of the most spirit for all of their sports teams of any city I’ve ever been too and the people are great and so hospitable..
It's a shame injuries played a part in his career. He was a beast on the field and so fun to watch.
First ballot HOF for sure.
As a Steelers fan I was ecstatic to see we drafted his brother, this dude was a beast and it makes me sad that he was injured as often as he was.
same bro
Here we go Steelers
Same. Gotta hope this past season was an outlier for TJ and not him following in his brother’s footsteps injury wise
As a Dallas fan, you're welcome. Our dumbass coaches thought a soggy Taco was better than a Watt because of "scheme".
As a packer fan and a wisconsin kid i'm pissed we didn't draft him
I am confident that there are a few qbs and offensive coordinators who were very happy with his announcement of retirement. I imaged getting hit by him and all I can think of was a quick and very painful trip to the emergency room. The man was a beast. HOF first ballot for sure.
everyone’s always gonna remember him
If his body didn’t start giving out on him, he’d probably be a top 3-4 defensive player ever. 3 defensive poy awards is crazy and that was just the start of his career.
As a texans fan I miss JJ so much!!!
First ballot HOFer for sure. Just wish he would have won a Super Bowl. He is more than deserving of one.
Even though he slowed down a lot and became injured, he still always got double teamed making a pretty damn big impact on the game. I feel bad he got non-stop injuries, but I'm glad I got to witness him.
Great player, great human being.
JJ Watt is a dominant defensive lineman in the NFL who has been in the league for a long time. He’s a future hall of famer at that. He was big and strong athletic player who never won a Super Bowl.
He was the most beloved player in Houston besides Andre Johnson who also played for the Texans. I hope the Texans will retire his number someday. He retired at the top of his game as a result of being so good at his position.
An absolute game breaking cheat code in Madden for like 4 years
No doubt if he never got hurt, he would've easily been on Lawrence Taylor's level. EASILY
JJ watt is the person who made me live football, being younger, watching him play made me love football.
To anyone doubting JJ Watt, beyond all the sacks, go look at the all time TFL in a season leaders. JJ has like 4 of top 5 ALL TIME. Dude was setting records for sacks, tfl, and on top of that was batting and intercepting balls. What a game wrecker. 😊
I fuckin' love me some JJ Watt. An amazing football player and an amazing person.
True legend and sportsmen.
He made watching exciting just watching him play. He was fabulous.
It was an honor to watch his last game
TJ and JJ are definitely a top 5 sibling duo of all time
Imagine if he went to the Steelers instead of the Cards. The Watt bros and Cam would’ve murdered every team’s QB
@@dafuzzbear7711 whose cam?
@@TheRealMcWafflecam heyward
@@dafuzzbear7711 Problem would have been the salary cap, cause there is no way JJ Watt would have taken a pay cut to just play with his siblings. Considering the reason JJ retired was partially due to health concerns, and partially due to his newborn child, unless the Steelers can match Watt's contract demands, there is no way he is coming to Pittsburgh on the cheap (Steelers also only had $11M of free cap space, Watt's contract with the Cardinals was $14M on average).
As a Texans fan that watched every game I can confidently say JJ was the best player I have ever seen play… I’m not old enough to have seen LT play but JJ was a special player and was robbed of an MVP award.
Truly one of finest human beings in the world of sports.
Man, the image at 1:46 took me back. I met JJ Watt at some private event by an oilfield company in Midland, Texas in 2012. We had a chance to ask him some questions so I asked why he wore 99. He said it was because he wore 9 in high school, and when he wasn't able to wear that number anymore, he decided to double it up and go with 99. It was a much more interesting answer than I expected honestly, I thought it was just because it was the biggest number but apparently there was more to it than that. This may not be the most interesting fact in the world but it's a special one to me.
JJ is who you want kids to pick as a role model. Works hard, gives it his all, and never gave up. Both on and off the field he was a positive impact for many. Stand up guy.
I remember watching the first game he came back after wearing that club. When he got his first sack he hopped up and start opening and shutting that hand like a claw at the camera. Everyone in the room and the crowd went wild for that lmaoo
Even with his injuries, he came back and made plays even in his last game. What a great player.
He should've been the 2014 MVP
JJ Watt, a true legend. HOF. Inspirational. He's most def the best Texan ever
Jj is just a menace
Fr
The move to Arizona was odd, they weren’t a contender and he wasn’t overpaid, shame he didn’t go elsewhere
He is a freak of nature 😮
His last few years he was hindered by Injuries but he was well on his way to HOF and I do believe his outstanding work for his community is what set him apart
Do one on Dan Marino the most under appreciated QB ever
Personally I think he was very good at tackling people
That's up for debate😂😂
I still try and model myself after JJ. Great football player, unbelievable work ethic, even better man
From 2012-2015 he was the most dominant player I’ve ever seen play, regardless of position, on tv or in person…Texans season tix holder
To be fair, offensive tackle is a lot closer to d-lineman than tight end. He easily could have asked to play the position at his original school and see what the coaches say, considering he is a physical freak of nature, I'm sure they would have considered it
JJ Watt is the best Texan ever. He was a beast in his prime. Thank you for the memories.
That 2011 draft was nuts for edge rushers.
It is scary to think how good he really was. He was a HOFer as is. He would’ve SHATTERED records if he would’ve stayed healthy.
The very definition of a man who gave his body to the sport.
Can you make a “How good was Ben Roethlisberger actually?”?
you should do one of these for myles garrett, ed reed, ronnie lott or stefon diggs
@KipstersYT i mean like videos on their journey to the league and how their doing in it so far for current players like he did with dk metcalf
In my mind watts 2014 season will go down as the greatest season a non QB has ever had, it was the most deserving of the MVP award that any defensive player ever achieved. Had a Hall of Fame career and one of the biggest what ifs, had he not been riddled with injuries he might have given Bruce Smith a run for his sack record.
He is still the BEST even though he's retired. But he's still the BEST Defensive Player in my book.
Keep up your fantastic videos, God bless you
I know Will Anderson will be great, but even if JJ Watt passes some of his knowledge to Will, it’ll be scary 🔥🔥
Can you do a series about how good were coaches actually?
Definitely one of the best D.E’s and T.E’s I’ve ever seen
As a Texan fan he was fun to watch I still have his jersey in my closet in mint condition. Just wish we had better coaches back then he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame 🤘🏼🏈💯. Not only he help during hurricane Harvey he paid for someone funeral expenses
Amazing vid
He is the greatest defensive player I have ever seen and to me with all these reporters comparing all these new linemen to Lawrence Taylor or being like LT. JJ Watt is the ONLY defensive linemen that had the legitimacy numbers wise and eye test wise to ACTUALLY be compared to Lawrence Taylor and have actual validity
If it wasn’t for injuries he would have been as dominant for as long as Aaron Donald has been but he’s still a first ballot HOFer without a doubt
His injuries were such a shame because in terms of peak performance he is right up there with Reggie white and Aaron Donald as the greatest defensive linemen to ever play
Starting to feel old seeing additions to this series be about players I watched play haha
He's a beast injuries snuck up on him , he deserved a Ring 💍 nonetheless a first ballot Hof
Easily one of my favourite players ever, period.
It bugs me how ppl forget how dominant jj was because he had injuries at the end of his career. Recency bias is a btch. One of the most dominant defensive players in the history of the NFL in his prime. Thank god for wade phillips for insisting on that draft pick. Also bugged me how he raised all that money for houston after it was devistated by a hurricane and ppl baselessly accused him of stealing the money even though he made all of where it was going transparent throughout the whole process. They were looking for a reason to hate him then.
A behemoth on the field, a gentleman off it
Man he’s the beast he deserves a Super Bowl ring.
Gronk will always be Gronk but imagine watt as a TE def not in the same system in Houston but could have made any qb seem super human injuries withholding
The best part is that if people stay retired then it’s going to be Brady, JJ, and Green all in one class
Aj green not going to be a first ballot
Never forget that he played in a 3 defensive linemen scheme which makes it even more insane
JJ Watt is a goat but my god it is scary how much hurt he put on his body and continued to play.
This man transcended from athlete to saint in Houston. You would be hard pressed to find ANY city that loves ANY athlete more than Houston loves JJ
JJ is a legend and a good dude 👍🏽
Dude there was a 4 year stint where you could argue that he was the best player in the league. I think it was from 2010 to 2014 or 2011 to 2015. Cant remember
Watt was so good not one of his 2 teams led him to a super bowl I feel so bad he should be at
Least in a Superbowl bc of his skill
He deserved a ring more than anyone
He is up there with LT and Reggie. Only player to have 20+ sacks in multiple seasons. Health hurt his career, but still an all time great.
I'd love to see him become a defensive coordinator for the Texans, That would be the ultimate finish to his legacy with the franchise.
I can only hope he heads back to Houston and coaches with Meco, gets Anderson and Co. going and get him his ring that way!
Unless cj stroud is the next big thing the Texans not winning one any time soon
Good Video 😁💞💗👍
The big brother every man deserves
He was the best defensive player I’ve ever seen growing up but man Donald so damn good now he the best
One of the best football players in league history period. Should be a unanimous HoF
Hey I love your channel but I think you should do more baseball content
Jack Youngblood nods in approval.
As a longtime Tennessee Vols fan, it doesn’t suprise me in the slightest that Butch Jones was wanting to make dumb personnel decisions
This is the same guy that started a currently irrelevant running back over Alvin Kamara
As great of a ball player he was, he was a even better man.
JJ Watt very LOYAL in TEXANS very sad in his career not WON super bowl 😞😢
An all time great!!!!
He was built different
How tf does the Watt household have so many great athletes, first JJ AND NOW TJ
Don't worry his brother TJ is wrecking shop now another future Hof
I hope him and Andre make the HOF together. Go Texans
Nobody was sad in Houston when JJ asked for his release. We understood the situation with the Texans. We all wanted JJ to go win a Super Bowl. Still have no idea why he chose Arizona.
Too early for this bro 😅😅
