After Matt accused bankers of stealing money (8:52), about 5 students out of 30 clapped. They were probably thinking, "hey, it's my dad you're insulting."
He highlights need in the world, and suffering, we need to be reminded, but there is self-adoration in people who give these speeches. Doing is good, but taking a big bow for how good a person I am, be more like me, is so overdone.

At age 70, I will let you in on a secret.....there is no appreciable difference between what we think is reality and a compelling simulation. We have to deal with the reality on our plate. Additionally, there doesn't exist any innate meaning or purpose in either of these possibilities. Many people might call this cynicism, pessimism or negativity.
