I giggled for hours after I'd seen those little doileys multiply in your hands! They must be magic, (your hands I mean). Yep, I collect little odds and ends, bits and bobs, knick knacks etc etc, always have always will. Oh, Shannon I love your videos, don't ever stop... Love from your friend over the pond, June x
June AngelPews I laughed about those doilies for the rest of the night! When I first got it I messed with it to see if there was more than one cuz I know how paper doilies like to stick together. I couldn't get it apart so I was convinced that there was only 1. That made the multiplying even funnier!
Hon, I do believe you are a lot like me. My left brain is out of it's right mind. Love the fun you had with your journal. Keep smiling. Thanks for the giggle.
Lol......got love being a rebel occasionally.......lol. It is truly amazing how one thing leads to the next once you make that first move whether it is gluing something random or making that first mark when drawing or writing down that first word when journaling. I have been cleaning and organizing and have a milk crate full of wonderful stuff to make a junk journal so your video has come at the perfect time......Serendipity indeed.........lol. Thank you so very much for sharing and inspiring and the giggles and the laughter.
My Goodness! Thank God I am home alone tonight! Couldn't sleep so watched you and laughed til I cried over your thought process! You are a hoot. Thanks for good ideas and lightening my mood.
Hey Shannon, this video popped up on my feed. I so do the same thing! I cut up magazines for use as decorative elements. I love saving the clear packaging to trim and make clear dashboards for my planner. It's so neat that any piece of "scrap" can be an art form. I going to try a junk journal looks like a fun craft for a rainy day!
I loved this video & journal. I agree with Victor---wish it was longer. Loved the galaxy quest reference. It's one of hubby's favorite movies so I remember all the cliches from it. Yes, my doilies multiply too. You think you have one but find you can always peel a few more from it. Had some stubborn ones from Michaels that only "reproduced" when I spritzed them with water. TFS. Tere
Shannon, I get the biggest kick out of watching you and listening to you as you do your projects. I learned from the painter Bob Ross that there are no mistakes, just happy accidents. I save all kinds of happy crappy stuff from mail, brochures, magazines. Now hubby keeps a lookout for stuff as he goes through the mail. Thank you for inspiring my thought processes. hugs from Cathy
I love how this book is turning out. I've been watching a lot of junk journaling things and my junk box is getting full, so may be I'll take the plunge. Never made a journal before, may be it's time to start. That poor panda looks disturbed by all the hands and arms surrounding it. Look at his poor lil sad face.
Watched this video on my lunch & had to stop eating so I wouldn't choke on my food from the giggling. :) TFS! Also, your insight to left/right brain fits me too. I've always wanted to overflow with creativity, but have learned to settle for a trickle & an occasional spurt. I keep trying though & really enjoy the process. Thanks again Shannon! Cheers! Bev
Thanks for the laughs! I love all your videos, but the ones like today where you bring us along on your crazy creative ride are the best. You should have a reality tv show!
Yeah, big thumbs up for talking through the thought process. I struggle with figuring out what to put in my journals....so I find myself going through TONS of stuff in my stash but it's hard to put things together because there is simply too much out at one time. I like the idea of the "if it fits" method. Great plan!!!
You are exceptional Shannon. Love your thought process. Thanks to you junk has a different meaning to me. Almost everything can be re purposed Thank you..
Hi Shannon, I loved watching and listening to your process. You're a mess ! I say that with love :) I must admit there was a teeny tiny part of me that was hoping you'd glue the horse's tail on upside down or backwards on purpose. I couldn't have done it either, I'd have to peel it off and fix it. lol It just dawned on me, not only are you creating fabulous journals, you're saving the world, one junk journal at a time, (less goes into landfills) Is there no end to how far you will go for your art?!?! Lead on fearless leader, I will follow :) I think you're fabulous Shannon, I appreciate your talent and I'm so glad you share it with us. Iris,SavedbyGrace. PS You know you have developed a problem when you start looking at buying something for the packaging lol Thank you :)
iris shubert LOL That's sweet of you, Iris, thank you! There is a particular salad dressing that I bought just for the shape of the bottle the first time I bought it. Fortunately it was good so now I can justify buying it over and over and over!
I like this book and the consept. Will try one (binded in a book). When energy leveä is higher. Now I consentrate on the Junk your month thing! Like to see the thought process as well.
Soak those used stickers and postage stamps in warm water for a few minutes and they pop right off the backing paper. Lay them face down on a paper towel to dry. Loved those little boxes -- been looking for some of a similar size, 'cause my husband bought me a huge box of Valentine candy this year and I thought it would be perfect for a cabinet of curiosities, if I could find some little boxes to go in them. Have you ever tried to make a poem with the fortune cookie sayings like your black-out poems?
I know you don't tend to make cards... But those plastic pieces would make awesome shaker cards... I save weird things too. 😃 I love the butterfly page... Cool! More doilies! 😃 yay! I really enjoyed this video... I do want to make a similar journal ( or several of them). 😉
Phoebe A shaker card was my first thought for those plastic things! The only reason I don't make cards is because that used to be all I made and I sort of got burned out. Thanks for stopping by!
Oh, I see, I understand. I used to make a lot of greeting cards... even thought of making them to sell... but I just ended up not doing it, and now I don't make them very often anymore either... but I want to get back into sending some once in a while.
Shannon, I just wanted to let you know that I think you are amazing. Your videos like this one are my favorite kind to watch. I honestly could watch them all day. Very interesting and you are such a hoot lol Makes my whole day. Thank you.
......when the poor horses tail fell off I laughed so much I must have clicked the subtitles button and up popped "I trimmed his forces" now I'm having to cross my legs.......oops, now I'm off to the bathroom!! What are you like! Love June x
Yes, yes, yes!! I was giggling so much my husband came in to make sure I was ok! We have decided they don't do fortune cookies any more, they do fortunate statements! Ours has Chinese words on the other side so you can learn Chinese one word at a time. Maybe I should glue all my words on a page in my journal.....
shannon nobody can take so many ordinary things and make them look so good like you do! most people don't know that this takes a lot of talent untill we try! it was a nightmare for me! i just don't get it! so I've just dicided to collect some of your treasures. thank you for this unique art:-)
Your thought process? Is that what you call it I thought it was a 5 star comedy routine I love it!!! Just one thought as you glue my head leans farther and farther to the right hoping you will put something askew lol
watching your process is very interesting Shannon, Thank you i'm laughing out loud with your doilies discovery ! it happens to me everytime i glue one =)
It just dawned on me...you're like Cher, Madonna, J-Lo.....in our videos and discussions, we all refer to you as Shannon....no last name required! Next step...autographed artwork!
Hi Shannon, I tried the yes past on the napkin exactly like you demonstrated and mine stayed tacky/sticky. I used barley any yes paste also just enough. any thoughts?
Bridgton1 Very strange. Mine would easily stick to each other after they dried but they didn't feel sticky or tacky to the touch. I did find that spraying them with a sealer like clear Krylon does keep them from sticking to each other and it also prevents them from getting gooey if you Mod Podge them. If yours end up sticky, try a spray sealer.
I am making a real soon to a friends house who lives near you (I think I know where you live). Anyway, I believe you are the person who showed a shop or warehouse that sells all kinds of stuff like old door knobs, etc. if you remember, could you post the name of the place under this comment? Thanks
I was yelling at you, but you obviously didn't hear me tell you to put that last fortune as a speech bubble coming out of the mouth of the statue. And I agree with Mr. Victor - I could watch you do this forever - well, I might have to stop to eat, sleep and go potty - but you get the idea!
sadiejosiemom Girl, you gotta yell louder!! I'm so glad you enjoyed it, I really get concerned when these videos get too long...don't want to bore anyone half to death!
Shannon Green I wonder if you looked even closer if the panda is also painted hands or other body parts. That was a big trend awhile back in advertising.
sometimes i worry that you're a bad influence for me, since i started watching you a few weeks ago i've started keeping the strangest things, a whole bag of hard candy wrappers for instance, i worry i might turn into one of those crazy old ladies who just can't and will not throw away used aluminum foil bc i could make a hat out of it or something lol!! i guess on the other hand it's great for the environment!
I love the horseman....there you go again being a rebel cutting that poor horse's tail off! Come on, girl, I'm trying to stay with you and cut you a break. Really, dressage???
Shannon, I've always enjoyed watching you but I don't know if I can continue to be a subscriber...you are getting to be too much of a risk taker, too much of a rebel...staggering your collages-They just don't do that!
I giggled for hours after I'd seen those little doileys multiply in your hands! They must be magic, (your hands I mean).

craftyhodges Oh my gosh how funny!!
How do you adhere your signatures to your book?
+meow98 These signatures are sewn to the spine of the book. You can see that here: ua-cam.com/video/9t4FoKoXEl4/v-deo.html
Hi Shannon, I tried the yes past on the napkin exactly like you demonstrated and mine stayed tacky/sticky. I used barley any yes paste also just enough. any thoughts?
Bridgton1 A few possibilities. How old was your paste? Did you let it dry overnight? Did you dilute it before using it?
it is about 6 mos old and I let it dry overnight. hmm.... I will just try again I think
Bridgton1 Very strange. Mine would easily stick to each other after they dried but they didn't feel sticky or tacky to the touch.

Shannon.....If you were disturbed by the bamboo hands, just look a little more closely...there are ARMS attached to those hands....freeky....
MandyOf Marymac I know, right? Freaky on top of freaky.
Shannon Green I wonder if you looked even closer if the panda is also painted hands or other body parts. That was a big trend awhile back in advertising.
He doesn't appear to be. Thankfully.
Omg you have me laughing out loud so much that my dogs think I’m cuckoo! Thanks for sharing 😊
Ha! Thanks for watching!
This was Fun!
Mona Rae Thanks Mona Rae!
Doilies, they're multiplying and I'm losing control....
Lorna Halnan Cuz the power they're supplying...it's electrifying!!
I don't know how to make a junk journal without everything being loose.
+meow98 There are lots of different ways to bind books. You can get some ideas here: ua-cam.com/play/PLEBktQ6jtRklpqnchhlvRX9J0kc11FPPY.html
Ok my weird sicko thought was to use the Venus De Milo picture and the fortune "Never Give Up" LOL
Marcia Edwards LOL
Someone is recycling their fortune cookie phrases, and needs some inspiration at the cookie shop!
Heck yeah!
sometimes i worry that you're a bad influence for me, since i started watching you a few weeks ago i've started keeping the strangest things, a whole bag of hard candy wrappers for instance, i worry i might turn into one of those crazy old ladies who just can't and will not throw away used aluminum foil bc i could make a hat out of it or something lol!! i guess on the other hand it's great for the environment!
chicklebird omg me too!!!!
chicklebird I always say...only keep what you can store neatly. That doesn't mean we're not hoarders, it just means we hide it well :)
+Shannon Green totally a bad influence but I love it :)
I understand. The hands. Creepy.
The chiropractor add cutout looks like a vibrator...lol
Oh my gosh it does!
The panda is creepy.
I"m with ya on that!
I love the horseman....there you go again being a rebel cutting that poor horse's tail off! Come on, girl, I'm trying to stay with you and cut you a break. Really, dressage???
Lottie Faith What can I say? I have very little control over where my brain goes!
Shannon, I've always enjoyed watching you but I don't know if I can continue to be a subscriber...you are getting to be too much of a risk taker, too much of a rebel...staggering your collages-They just don't do that!
Lottie Faith I was afraid I might frighten some viewers away with that! LOL
