@@GimbalWalkTV - I understand ... but as many have said before this comment, it's nice just to have authentic sounds, where possible. Just wanted to reiterate this person's comment. Thanks for the trip 💚
The Christmas lights of York are very beautiful with all of the vendors out with food and much more this is going to be really great to see take care, stay warm and thank you.🎄☕🎁🇬🇧
Your videos are a public service, they're so lovely to watch. York looks so beautiful we're planning a trip next year. I hope you're treating yourself to some yummy treats from all these Christmas markets, you definitely deserve it.
Lovely what you have filmed, and yes, I agree it's like Charles Dickens' scene. All you needed was people dressed in period attire. Maybe that could be a thing, and it take off like the steam punk weekend's at Scarborough who knows, anyway thank you for showing this, my wife's disabled but are definitely going to give it a go from Grimsby and maybe grab one of the beautiful journals, thank you once again Geoff & Sue
York is beautiful any time of year. Especially Christmas time with the markets. I’m off to Wroclaw in Poland for the Xmas markets soon, meant to be one of the best in Europe 🇵🇱
I loved how you spoke to the man in the ELF suit, it was Great to hear you Neil, its so rare that we do, and Cheers for giving yourself a plug on the mans live feed too.
Fantastic video, thank you for taking the time to walk the streets of York and give us an in-depth tour of the beautiful City and the Christmas market.
Every area you filmed in was lovely but Stonegate blew me away, so light and bright, it just felt wonderful to to me, Id buy some food, a scotch egg, some meat pies and some pork scratching's, being an Expat I miss all those wonderful things that the UK has, maybe a tea in Betty's at some point.
cant wait to be there on the 14 th december for three days and nights to take in all the lovely sights you have shown us and more ,thanks for a great video .
At 1:01 you passed Lucio's, which is one of the Best places to eat in York, but the last time I was in York (June) I had a Chicken Slice and Hot Choc from Greggs ( at 9:03 - opp M&S) Yummy and cheap ‼️😊😊
Speaking as a Yorkie who loves the city and thoroughly embraces tourism I have to say Christmas Market is underwhelming after anti-terrorism measures prevented half of the stalls from appearing. My advice would be if you're coming and you don't have to come at the weekend then come early in the week because it's stupidly chocka at other times. The Shambles was literally gridlocked the weekend before last when weather wasn't so bad as Storm Bert this week.
They make little ghost figurines because it’s supposed to be the most haunted city. You can collect them. Some people stand in line for up to 4 hours. They’re around £20 each. A little more or less. Someone said they look like salt and pepper shakers and that’s all I see now.
Hammond's is the best shop in the Shambles, a little pricey on the jet jewellery compared to up on the coast but very nice pieces. The theme shops come and go, lasting until the queues dry up. There were twice as many Harry Potter shops previously and three in The Shambles alone!
Nottingham lad now resident in York says yes with the following caveats: Avoid busy times, unless you're a total Christmas Market fiend you'll find it underwhelming. Bear in mind it's not cheap, bars & restaurants and particularly hotels & B&Bs are close to London prices £250 a night in the station hotel, where the kitchen got a 1* food hygiene rating not so long ago. Tourism is here all year round so it's always quite busy but if you can be here early on a spring or summer morning you'll walk away with some fabulously atmospheric photos of empty streets and beautiful buildings. If you're coming by train you'll need Derby or Chesterfield for a direct link. 😉
A little too long and drawn out. I appreciate it is a full video... but would have liked it shortened/edited somewhat. But great quality and I guess it doesn't hide or ignore anything.
Lovely video. I don't know if I'm alone here but I think the videos are better with ambient sounds rather than music 😊 🎄 but still enjoyable
My music covered up the music blaring out around the place

@@joline2730 It's not always possible as the music blaring out is copyright music so isn't allowed on the channel by UA-cam

There's usually a few vikings knocking around and an old guy in a firefighter uniform leaning on a pub wall somewhere 😉
Best market in town.

Jolly good video chap...I've never seen so many Gin shops in a market in all my days.. 😂😂😂
Yeh there's a few! 🤣
Try the Whitby gin, I bought my wife a bottle at last year's CM, it's gorgeous.

I noticed the shop in The Shambles that sales the little ghosts. There’s always a line. I keep wondering if I need one. 😂
I still don't actually know what they are 🤣

@@roguz444 wow that's crazy! They must be making a fortune at that shop!
@@GimbalWalkTV I'm sure they are. I'm not waiting in line for four hours, but apparently, it's the thing to do there.

Are you having fewer music copyright issues this year?
Sadly not - same amount!
Shame. Doesn't diminish the enjoyment though. Will be watching this tomorrow evening with Mrs Pygar and some mulled wine 🍷
