Thankyou Sharon and Martin for showing us parts of England that we would never be able to see otherwise. How thoughtful of U both to go out in the cold and film for us from Lorraine York in Qld Australia love U guys I feel like part of your family
Thank you so much 😁
I have never been to York, thank you for showing us some of the sites. OMG! you bought a lump to my throat when you gave that elderly gent £20, I always give food and a drink, he looked so vulnerable, bless him! xx
Thanks for the tour, I was there for 2 days,non-stop walking around,so much to see, went in Betty's cafe, wasn't that inpressed,my POV. We did pay to go in York minister, amazing place. Your video reminds me of lovely memories and places I didn't see. 😊
Bit fragile on the old legs now so very grateful Sharon and Martin for taking us to York. Loved every minute and appreciate the miles you walked.Wishing you both a warm and wonderful Christmas.xx
Our pleasure Anne.
Great vlog lots of information i love a Christmas market but gosh they are so expensive I’m a Yorkshire lass with deep pockets 😂been to York many times but struggle now with my partner in a wheelchair so thanks for doing all the leg work for us to reminisce ❤
I have to agree a nice outing to York 😀
Loved the visit to York. Thanks a lot for an enjoyable video. Took me back to my visit to York 15 years ago. Thanks for helping the Homeless guy. Very good of you. Thanks again John in Nova Scotia.

It's very nice that you take us a long with you so we can see we wouldn't know about these places if you didn't take us along that's how nice you both are thank you
Hi Martin and Sharon, another excellent video, nice to go out and about with you. I liked your coat Sharon, it looks as if it is nice and warm

OMG Martin and Sharon what a lovely vlog of York especially the Shambles its a good few years since we were at York i wouldn't mind we only live few miles away but I guess its true what they say we take things for granted and don't go visit these beautiful places we have full of history..... Aww so kind of you to give the elderly homeless gentleman some pennies I would of done the same and if a few more gave him some pennies he could be spending a night in a hotel ❤ Think we must go and stay over at York in our Motorhome.?...Take Care .....😊😊
A thoroughly interesting and enjoyable video, thank you for producing it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awww your si good helping that poor old fella out, it brought tears to my eyes seeing him, god bless you both and the old fella.😢
Hi this is a message for Sharon..go back inside the Christmas shop oh please, love Christmas shops.they are so lovely especially the old father Christmas's i bet that one you saw in that shop window was expensive..it make you want to buy one of each items 😊❤❤
I'm loving the walk with you thanks
Arhhhhh, you brought tears to my eyes giving that man £20 …… he did look like he genuinely needed it. Fair play to you both ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Absolutely love York but there really is no need to rip people off like that….coffee prices, the minster price 😮😮😮😮 We loved the railway museum, really interesting….and FREEEEEEEEE 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you Kezza
If I had to sleep rough on the streets I think I’d need a drink to get me through it, numb the cold and help me get to sleep. It’s a scary place out on the streets.
Hi both...once again thank you for venturing out in this cold weather, it is very much appreciated. York is a lovely place to visit, Betty's is a real treat, though quite expensive. We tried your cheese topped waffle meat pie...it was delicious, many thanks for showing this.Big hugs and love to you both Sue & Ben ( Woodhall Spa) xx
Yes Sue, it is very tasty. Glad you enjoyed our York trip too.
Just watched your trip around York, with the charges for York Trinity. Come to Hull all museums are Free, art gallery free and entry to Minister is also free. Well worth a visit x
Hi Martin & Sharon, was lovely to meet you both,Thank you for warm wishes and now John really does believe,so lovely of you both.come back when the weather is warmer.❤❤
Our pleasure Diane.
The church next to the minster is St. Michael-le-Belfry where Guy Fawkes was baptised. It’s currently closed for building work.
I live nearby, I’d had come see you and taken you round!! Park n ride is def best way to get in and out of York. Lovely video. Regards.
The green train in the turntable is called a Deltic, when I first started going out with my hubby , I knew all the trains as he is an enthusiast. . Mos5 if our days out was train related. Hehe. That would have been 50+ years ago . Yes still with him bless him , one of the best.hehe. What you called a cockpit on the mallard the part is called a cab. Jut for anyone who make like to know hehe.
Thank you Martin and Sharon. York is beautiful and sadly, I will never see it in person. Loved all those little shops and the old buildings you showed us. Sometimes people just walk through streets and never look up to see the incredible artistry that went into the buildings. I also enjoyed seeing the old trains from days gone by and the workmanship that went into them. York is beautiful but sure is EXPENSIVE to eat there. 🤨
I love these videos so much I have always wanted to see this in person but I am old and sick now so thank you so much for going on such amazing walks!
Glad you enjoyed!
A ❤ lovely video 😊.
Nice gesture with the old fella guys don't mind when their genuine!❤ The old locomotives & Lovely York, when England was England! Smashing vid as always guys!❤❤
Thank you for visiting York my home again and displaying York so beautifully we have a small business down Gilly Gate centre of York sadly the St Nicholas Market is killing small shops at Christmas as local people stay away as we do get so many visitors and many coaches for a small business its a nightmare and starts in November and normally on for at least 6 weeks if you visit again please pop down Gilly Gate its located off Bootham Bar such a lot of fab small shops and great little cafes 🙂
Thank you Martin and Sharon, really enjoyed that video. I love how you show the stuff available without always doing it as this is the real world some of us want to experience these things an places but can’t afford it but your showing is that it’s there if you want it an can afford it but also you can also visit the beautiful city of York without having loads of money … your kindness for the old boy in the doorway was lovely an aproached with respect and dignity.. both your passions for the trains really got me very interested in something I’ve never really thought about … can’t wait for the Xmas show you really cheers this world up
really warmed my heart, and made me feel like Christmas is close, thank you (from some one who cannot get out much) xxx
Nice to see you in my home city glad you enjoyed it and giving that man the money was such a lively thing to do ❤
Hi Guys and Baby Frank,
Looks like another great experience you've got in mind for us❤😅Let's go go go!!!!!!❤
Love coming with you both window shopping and walkabout as I am one of those people who can't get out and about .
Watched from start to finish. Thank you for all your efforts both of you. Can't wait for your videos. Being a Yorkshireman, it's always nice to see my capital York.
Our pleasure!
Loved this, a nice place. My eyes filled up when you gave that gentleman some money. You really are the kindest of people. What a lovely thing to do. Take care x
Thankyou so much for this video. I felt as if I was looking around York and the Shambles with the both of you. I really miss not having snow and all the decorations in the streets and shops at Christmas. A bit hot for us on the other side of the world.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thanks! Cheers from Linda in So. California ❤🎉❤
Thank you so much Linda.
I've so enjoyed all the visits to York having being unable to make them myself this year- I'll be glad to see the back of 2023!! Thank you for bringing us along.

I went to the Truro Christmas Market today,I have a mobility scooter and must look pathetic because everyone fed me, then I was given lashings of booze so I was stuffed and sloshed,I very nearly fell off my scooter, lovely day you had thank you ☺
lol, Sounds like you had a good time though.
Hi both, great vlog!! We stopped at Jorvik House a few years ago, lovely place and just a short walk through the park to York itself!!
You need to try the Guy Fawkes famous steak pie, I know it’s £20 but WOW!!!!!
Thanks for the tips!
I love York, haven’t been for ages so thank you for taking us around York with you. Great video Martin and Sharon, really enjoyed it❤
Betty’s Cafe is a must… it's Yorkshire’s equivalent of afternoon tea at Claridges in London

Hey you two 😁 one day could we please hear how you guys met? In detail! And can we see a wedding photo. Also would be good to hear about your childhoods. Maybe you could actually visit the areas where you grew up. And you could go to local places to eat and stuff. Please!.
We have our wedding videos on our channel in our family playlist.
Lovely interesting vid, have been to the shambles couple times but I can’t get to see all these lovely historical places now due to disability’s so it’s lovely when you take us round these places, feels like I’m there with you, I love seeing all these old buildings and hearing the history of them, Always watch your vids even if I don’t comment , I miss going in all the lovely shops,I feel sad I can no longer see these places so thanks for taking me around, loved it.

Thanks Debs
@@butlersempire we’re definitely going to York in February for my birthday celebrations thanks to your walk about .cheers Martin and Sharron 😘
Hey up Martin and Sharon good video! My daughter band granddaughter live in York.. The tree you commented on in the early part of the video was a Yew tree which is a long living tree and generally found in church yards . Just round the right from Drakes is a fantastic chippy. With regards to the minster if you tick gift aid as you go in so it's valid for the full year so it's basically £16 for a year for as many visits as you want . Four visits to York and if you visited the minster 4 times it would cost £4 a visit. Same as Yorvik. Anyway keep up the good work.
I'm not very well today the doctor has just phoned me and woke me up 1am ish 😂now I'm having trouble sleeping so I thought ,I know I'll watch Sharon and Martin, what a lovely treat walking around York, I've not been there for years, I'd forgotten how lovely it is, and the trains, just lovel y Thank you at much xxx
Hope you feel better soon.
How lovely was York thanks for taking us x
That 20 quid. Really good of you both. It's so hard to see someone down on their luck like that. Like looking straight in to the sun. 😢❤🥺
Hi Sharon and Martin love your videos 🎄 🎉🎊 ❤❤
Thank you for a great evening...🇨🇦
Just like your channel you go where I can't anymore thank you buttlers
I love york, my parents use to attend craft fairs in the Assembly rooms many years ago.Pre covid me & husband stayed &we had a gorgeous afternoon tea in an old railway carriage near the railway museum, it was gorgeous and far cheaper than Bettys!
You are such a lovely couple and very entertaining to watch, love your videos thank you 🥰
Love love love you two you make my day so happy 🥰
Thank you so much 😁
Hi guys love your vlogs and u was so kind to that man thank you for being good people god bless you guys xxxx

I used to live near York so went into the center quite often. Lovely place def a lot aimed at tourists. But agree with you its so bloody expensive 😠 Great video 👍
Hi to both, loved this one as I love York, going on Tuesday,we go every Yr for the Christmas Market, lots to do n see eh? Thanks guys, take care.x
Thank you both .👍👍
Great Trip round York thanks Sharon & Martin love the snow effect seasons greetings to you both X
Never been to York...but you've definitely encouraged us to visit. Another great video, thank you❤
Another wonderful video. I love you both for your sightseeing and historical architecture out look. A gargoyle is a decorated waterspout that projects from a roof and carries rainwater away from the walls of a building, protecting it from damage. They are grotesque but no real purpose except rumour of fending off evil sprits. Thank you once again for sharing and fun packed video. I love historical buildings with beautiful architecture. Thank you❤
I love shopping in Lidl when I can get there?!!
I don't have a car anymore. But I am trying to save up to get a new smaller car I can afford. To give me back my independence again. Bus's are so unreliable.
Friends and family live to far away. So I have to walk a mile away half. To my nearest shop. Which is expensive..I have difficulty carrying bags and walking back home. Sometimes with my dog woody. A little Jack Russell bourderterrier cross. Bless him he is 14 now. Xx❤❤
Really enjoyed this, as soon as I’d seen you posted it I got myself a nice cup of tea to sit down and enjoy it with. Amazing place and found it all so interesting, bet you were both tired after all that walking.xx
Glad you enjoyed it!
We loved this video, great to see all around York it's amazing and beautiful x
Thanks so much! 😊
Excellent video Sharon and Martin. York looks very nice but is very expensive. York needs a Ragged Apron. The Railway Museum looked magnificent, excellent Locomotives. 👍👍😁 Looking forward to your Christmas Special 👍👍😁🌲🌲⛄⛄☃️☃️🎁🎁
Once again a wonderful video, thankyou for Including us in your days out, merry xmas to to you and your family xxxxx, a subscriber from New zealand, oh making your Xmas pudding tomorrow
Thank you Maureen.
Thank you for your lovely videos so good xx
Mad Alice haunts this snickelway. Beaten remorselessly by her husband, she finally attacked and killed him. The murder caused her to go insane, and she was hanged at York Castle in 1825. Her face can sometimes be spotted at one of the windows looking down over the lane
I wonder why they changed the name? Poor Alice x
Poor woman 😢
Thank you for this loverly York tour. Thoroughly enjoyed watching it ❤
My pleasure 😊
Thanks soo much Folks!! Really, really enjoyed this. All of it. Every minute! And I know it was cold. Looken' out for your next vlog. As always!! Hugs and kisses 💯👍👏👏👏😘😘😘
