York as got to be one of the best cities in uk for the easy way to get around been mostly flat for prams and disabled people. Lots of Shops for the ladies with plenty of restaurants and tea shop and try the Shambles and the market there Ian sure all will enjoy it. Try and go in York Cathedral which is beautiful. There is the Railway Museum at the back of York station. Clifford tower is good if your standard of walking is good otherwise leave it a lot of steps. But a 10/10 place to visit in UK.🇬🇧
York is definitely a very big city filled with many places to visit and has a lot of nice restaurants, pubs, stores, churches, museums and much more they have a lot nice looking buildings and streets such as the Shambles it's like a street out of a Harry Potter movie and this is quite a bigger city than the others that I've seen so far, until the next destination Thank You. ☕👋🇬🇧
Lovely! I visited York in early July. It was beautiful, but rather crowded! Unfortunately, I missed the waterfront area. Thanks as always for an awesome video.

You walked past the golden fleece inn pub twice, but didn't mention at all, I know it's very haunted, but don't know anything else about it, was hoping you would cover it!.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour of York as it brought back many memories of our visit there in May 2019. Our question is, what time of the year did you shoot this video as almost everyone is in heavy jackets, with toques on or earmuffs, and some are wearing gloves.
The Vikings were not here before the Romans. York was founded by the Romans in 71AD. It was a Roman base till around 400AD and was then taken over by the Angles and Saxons, who renamed it Eoforwic, when the Roman Empire was in decline and they left. The Vikings took it from the Angles in 866 AD, led by Ivar the boneless who renamed it Yorvik…York. The Vikings came some 450 years after the Romans.
My auntie used to be a nun at York convent school until it was sold then they did not have to wear their habits anymore until the 90s she left & got married in her late 50s

It was filmed in spring I think but I didn’t get chance to edit it until now
The railway museum is near the train station
True
York Minster cathedral North Yorkshire has mouse carved on one side of things called " mouseman furniture in Kilburn north Yorkshire for years "
Pity you didn't cover the museums, railway castle and Yorvik, all worth seeing. The Vikings were here before the Romans, so I have been told.
Will cover in the next one
@@GimbalWalkTV great 👍😃

@@JanetTurner-ff6zk not unless the Vikings had discovered time travel.
When was this filmed. There a lot of people wearing heavy coats, is it cold over there already?
No this one was filmed in the Spring - the weather is getting a lot warmer here now!
You can climb up to the roof from inside the winding stone narrow stairs
Amazing - bet that's great!
It is but the stairs are narrow so if someone is coming down & you are going up you have to be careful
When was this filmed
The other week
The Roman column is actually upside down
Oh no!
Deliberately or an accident?
@GimbalWalkTV it was put up in a hurry and accidentally put upside down was not noticed for a few years and would cost to much to put right
My auntie used to be a nun at York convent school until it was sold then they did not have to wear their habits anymore until the 90s she left & got married in her late 50s
It's awful when they get flooded in the same areas
