This week was my first semester of nursing school, and let me tell you, DOUBT has already crossed my mind. It is very much a great workload!! You posted this video at a perfect time, I really needed this!! 🥰🥰🥺
I literally opened UA-cam so I could find a nursing video to motivate me to study, and you had just posted this! I applied for nursing school today as this is my last semester of prerequisites. I'm so excited, thank you for posting this!
Beautiful advice nurse Nook love this type of positive feed back because now a days these folks are on UA-cam talking about “nursing is not the deal” or “nursing is not what I thought“ I’m a nursing student almost done and damn me if I graduate after all this hard work and give negative feedback to students knowing that the nursing field is versatile and you can move up from there so I appreciate this thank you ♥️
You are AMAZING 🌟 I started following you in 2017, when I decided to apply to nursing school. I took my NCLEX two weeks ago, & passed in 75 questions !! I already have 2 job offers. Your support & encouragement has meant the world to me 😃 I used your code for quizlet, I had never heard of it before ! I started taking classes to go toward my BSN while getting my ADN. Your advice and sharing your journey has helped me so very much !!! I can never say thank you enough ❤️❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I was crushed after getting a C in my intro to pharm class...looking back at last semester I realize how disorganized and unmotivated I was. You are absolutely right when it comes to organization!!! Had I been more organized and strategized my studying, I wouldn't have been so stressed in the end praying to the lord I passed that class lol..btw it was such an excruciating 3 days of waiting for grades to post. Self care is also SO important, exercising and eating well have made such a huge difference. Thanks for reminding me that this isn't impossible, here's to starting fresh in my peds/OB rotations!!! :)
Here I am still watching your videos and I have 4 months left of nursing school! Time has flown by and your videos have definitely helped get me through it! ❤️
Just finished my 2nd week of nursing school and u hit the nail on the head when you said the course load is a lot!! We have a 22 chapter test Monday in Fundamentals. I'm taking Pharmacology and Fundamentals this semester and we have 2 book per class!! Its a lot of info but pushing thorough because ain't know what my end goal is!!
Idk why they do this for fundamentals! Our first test was on 17 chapters . Idk if they want to scare students or what? But why make students so stressed or give them impossible tasks like that off the bat?
I watched this video as I cried out of frustration of how difficult my nursing program is. As many conversations as you and I have had and all the videos I have watched of yours, you still make me want to just continue and keep going. Thank you for sharing your journey with us and creating this platform for yourself where you can motivate other people.
4:35 is where she tells truths ya’ll! The amount of information that gets thrown at you in 8 weeks courses are literally the most difficult part! Retaining it seems almost impossible sometimes. Perseverance is all imma say after that 😅
I’m in my last semester of my BSN, & I wouldn’t do it again if someone paid me a million dollars 😂😂😂 it’s just super rigorous, and it’s so hard to not be hard on yourself. & never compare yourself to your classmates!!!
Currently in my first quarter of my LVN program and I definitely needed to hear this as I’m studying at 1 am and struggling because I’m already so overwhelmed with the amount of information being thrown at me so thank you!! 🥺🥺💗
I just started my first semester of nursing school this week after a being rejected the first time i applied because I had C’s in anatomy and chem. These 2 grades ended up causing me to be uncompetitive for my university’s program the first time I applied. I retook those classes and ended up with A’s in both the second time. Now that I’m in the program, I’ve been trying to process the fact that what I’ve been working towards for years (including high school) is actually here along with how much work it I have to do lol. Thank you for saying this! I really appreciate the words of encouragement!!
@thenursenook girl I needed this so bad. I was going to call my LPN school tomorrow and tell them I was going to drop out of the program before it even started, because I was scared I was going to fail. You just gave me the best reassurance, thank you!!! 💋💕
I have been watching you since before I finished my pre reqs for nursing and now I’m in my second semester of nursing school!!! crazy how time flies but I stay watching your videos
Thank you for this video. I'm in my last semester of my ABSN program and before starting I kept watching videos that emphasized that nursing school was hard but never really elaborated. Which made me doubt myself and fear school. But you are 100% right, the material isn't necessarily hard, it's all the other things they throw on top of it that makes nursing school difficult. Having to balance lectures, reading, assignments, quizzes, exams, and making sure you're actually retaining all the info is what makes nursing school hard, in my opinion. I hope your video helps relieve some anxiety for those going into nursing school. It's been very validating for me.
thank you ! im starting my nursing journey as a second career. i was putting it off for years because i already have a BA and i was nervous about getting back into school but now im more focused.
I went to nursing school in the 80's and much has changed since then. Academics was the primary skill admissions sought. High SAT scores and mostly A's in all the prereqs. There was a military atmosphere which forced one of the students to cut her eyelashes because they were "too long for a nurse". I had a thirty year career in nursing and encourage others to enter this field.
I LOVED this advice! I totally agree with everything you said! As someone who totally felt not smart enough going into nursing school and now is in the final semester- it is possible!! And so true that organization is KEY!
I failed a whole bunch of classes and had so many withdrawals. I got diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder and ADD and got help and retook all my classes and got A’s and B’s and got accepted into nursing in May 2020! I’m in my first semester and it’s a lot of information but I love that everyone who told me I couldn’t can now watch me make my way to the end of nursing school 🖕🏼👌🏼🙌🏼👋🏼💁🏼♀️❤️❤️❤️ YOU CAN DO IT!!!! She’s not lying when she says it’s possible!
OMGGG i was just saying this today😭. I’m currently in my second semester of nursing school and I feel like the work load makes it hard not really what I’m learning.
In 2017 After a week stay at the hospital I was amazed with how everything worked there so i said I’m going to try to get a job here. Within that same year I got an overnight position as a patient transporter and I’ve loved it. Two years ago I decided to go back to school for my nursing degree I just finished all my pre-reqs with a 4.0 and was accepted into the fall 2021 semester but I’m so nervous! Scared of failure more than anything.
Thank you Alexis I needed to hear this. I will be reapplying to nursing school this summer. I didn't get into Nursing school last year because of my teas score was not high enough for my school. I just re took it 1 week ago and I got a 85%
I agree with you. The content in nursing school isn't hard to understand, it's the workload and amount of information you learn that makes it difficult. I'm in my first year and getting my BScN right now, and I started nursing school straight out of high school so it was a big adjustment
love this video! I appreciate the positive energy you are projecting to your followers and people like myself who are currently on the road to nursing school. I remember during my LVN school there were a lot of people who had doubts of me reaching my goal to becoming an RN. I silenced those voices, worked in silence, and now I am a step closer to taking my RN courses. Grades to not define you.
I totally agree that the hardest part about nursing school is the workload! You have so much to learn in so little time and it can be so overwhelming. The material is really not too bad if you study enough
YASSS GIRL! You are spot on with this pep talk. Too many people discourage others into getting into nursing school, we most definitely need to be doing the OPPOSITE! More Nurses are NEEDED! Thanks for sharing🙌🏼
Thanks for the pep talk. Got into nursing school and I start in May. A lot of videos on UA-cam are very discouraging, thank you for being different and real ❤
Girl!! Thank you for sharing your nursing journey. I started watching your videos I’m 2017 and I FINALLY started nursing school this month!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 I’m on the struggle bus y’all... pray for me. I ain’t young no mo Lololol
I agree with EVERYTHING in this video. I don’t sugar coat anything you when I tell people about nursing school but I always tell them IT IS POSSIBLE. And that’s funny I had a counselor like that too when I went to college the first time. And the support system thing is what got me through nursing school.
Yess!! that 1st response is so true. Counselors and professor either intentionally on unintentionally discourage the student if they see a C or even a B. I had my community college professor discourage me to go into nursing because I was going to get C in her microbio class.
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO! I think it's definitely an area that needs to be talked about, especially for those who are pre-nursing or in nursing school. YOU CAN DO THIS! Can you do a video about staying motivated throughout nursing school?!
Omg yes. I’m 7 months away from graduating with my ADN. I agree it’s difficult from the amount of things that come with it. It’s draining but I know I’ll thank myself later. Thank you for this video ❤️❤️
Approaching my last semester of nursing school & what you said in this video is extremely relevant! Thank you for the motivation throughout my nursing journey!
I definitely needed this video !! I’m in anatomy and physiology 1 and it’s tough because we’re learning a lot. Anatomy isn’t really hard it’s just A LOT of information to take in with very little time and remember and actually learn it. But I’m gonna keep pushing I know I’ll get through 😌
Omg thank you so much for this! Since the semester started, it's been so overwhelming 🥵😫 especially, when after every sentence, professors say "If anything, you'll get kicked out!" Really needed someone to give some positive motivation, not just scare the heck out of you.
I agree with everything you said! I had a advisor that told me I wouldn't be successful because I didn't score high in the science part of the TEAS! Let me tell somebody out there if you are motivated you will succeed! I made As & Bs throughout the entire program. Don't let them scare you out of nursing if it's your dream! Also just to add about the study group makes sure you limit the amount of people because a study group can easily turn into a kickback. Find your niche of people usually 2-4 and help each other. Best luck to all you future nurses! We need you guys out here 💕
omg thank you for this !! I’m currently applying to nursing school for the fall and I’m....so scared >.< but hearing your story and watching your growth is so inspiring and motivational
Hello Alexis, I just want to say that you are a great inspiration to me. I've been watching your videos since the beginning and before I applied to the nursing program three years ago. You gave me a motivation to apply because I never thought I would get into the program because I had a C+ in anatomy and physiology. I had advisors that told me to change my major and I will never get into the program but I proved them wrong and got accepted to nursing school. Now I recently graduated from nursing school with Cum Laude and about to start my nursing position at my dream specialty unit (cardiology).
Wow I really needed to hear that especially the part about grades. I earned a B in A&P 1 and 2 and retook both and ended up getting a B again in A&P1 and a C in A&P2. I cried so hard and felt so defeated I couldn't stop thinking maybe this was a sign that I shouldn't be in the nursing field. I wish someone had told me hey if you don't get in this time just reapply because a B is not a failure and you don't need to retake the class. Awesome video!!
Thank you for this video I really needed to hear this. I’m currently taking my pre reqs and have gotten all A’s so far but I do get overwhelmed and discouraged when counselors and even some family members remind me how competitive and hard nursing school is and I even doubt myself but this motivated me and I know I’m doing it all for the right reasons. Thank you again.🤍🤍🤍
I got a C is psy , C in bio 168 , i took the course again and received a B. There's always another chance. Im in the nursing program now, and it's a whole different approach to learning that youre not used to.
Literally what I needed to hear! Thank you, you inspire me so much ❤️ I’ll be taking my TEAS test next month and applying to the nursing program in the spring 😄🤞🏻
just finished my first week of my bsn program. i’m so scared but so glad this video popped up when it did. but definitely trying to stay positive about the next 2 years!
Im watching all you videos , I want to start nursing school but man a lot of things are making it not posible and watching your videos makes me not give up in trying to start and become a nurse ❤️❤️❤️
I started taking pre-reqs last fall and already finished A and P 1, Psy, and taking A and P 2 and Che with Lab now. There is a-lot of informations. Sometimes if i get overwhelmed i just step away and give myself a brake. But when i am open for learning i sit for hours. Lucky i am not super social about going out etc beside working out, so i can stay in chair 5,6,7,8h. Only thing sometimes my hand hurts from holding the pen(lol).
I have my nursing school interview coming up this week for an accelerated 15 month master's program and this is the pep talk I needed. The imposter syndrome is real sis 😔
You got this girl!! Coming from someone who felt the exact same and is now in my final semester of nursing school- you are capable and you will succeed!
I just want to say I appreciate your channel so much I have been following you for awhile and feel like I resonate with your content and feel like a close sis giving me guidance in my nursing career, just wanted to say thank you for what you do ❤
Thank you for this!! I had a counselor tell me they didn’t think I was smart enough and should consider to change my major I was feeling down because looks like I’ll be passing with a B in A&P and I was feeling down because it’s me 2nd time retaking it but after this video I feel so much motivated again! Thank you for this 💕
I had to retake both A&P 1 and A&P 2. I also felt discouraged but I ended up passing both the second time around. What people say about you doesn’t define who you are!! I respect your hustle and congrats on passing!!👏🏽🎉
Thanks for the video. I thinks faith is really putting me in the right path, lil by lil and just guiding me to the direction I was always meant to be. Ever since I can remember I have always loved nursing, but since I was never the smartest in class or anything, hearing from others that nursing school is very hard and this and that, completely discouraged me and got me scare to apply.welp I'm now 34 and I have been a cma and with that certification I've been working now PRN at a lab as a phlebotomist at a hospital and there I go to rapid response and code blues (my favorite scenerios) to draw those pt's blood , and work part time for an electrophysiologist office, working with the electrical part of the heart, so deff loving to learn about afib, aflutter, svt, vtach, vfib, heart failure along with the signs and symptoms of it. I completely ❤❤ the medical field.i love helping others, I see myself working in the ER or icu. Luckily bc I'm always asking questions, I've been able to see how a picc line had been inserted and the nurse explained every detail of what she was doing, and I have walked in during heart caths, when a dr has ordered troponin on a pt. So I've seen a lot and havnt started nursing school yet..so this time, I'm going forward and nothing is stopping me..thankyou so much, it deff motivates me
I agree!!! I was a bad student when I started college. But I took an entrance exam for a local LPN school. Passed with A&B's!!!! Long story short I ended up with my MSN FNP!!!! If I could do anyone can!
This is the pep talk I needed! My advisor told me I should switch majors because I got a C in A&P 1 & 2. I switched to business and I hate it! I’m going to retake the classes, it’s literally been in the back of my mind the whole year! Thank you 🤍
I appreciate how positive you are about Nursing I see so many nurses that act like they are trying to convince you to know be a nurse and I wonder why like do they not like their own job? Lol but thanks 💛
Hey Alexis! Im in my last semester of nursing school and I 10000% agree with everything you said!!! Can you do a video on what to expect/how to get the most out of practicum?! I currently work as a tech on Mother/Baby and start my practicum next month (hopefully on M/B too).
I’ve seen so many videos about nursing school that demonizes it so bad.. I almost wanted to give up on my life long dream and I’m STILL trying not to let those videos discourage me.. I wish they would stop spreading negativity. Nonetheless I’m going on my first month of nursing school and I’m determined to get through it! It’s been fun so far too. BSN loading 2022!
Thank you so much for this..... every time I see a UA-camr post a video about failing nursing school or saying they quit I get scared and try not to watch them lol. But thanks for this positive message ❤️❤️

This almost made me cry. I’m literally stressing over A&P, at this point I’m hoping to receive a C for the class.
Here I am still watching your videos and I have 4 months left of nursing school! Time has flown by and your videos have definitely helped get me through it! ❤️
I'm in nursing school right now as an S1 and I feel like you hit all the points! WE CAN DO THIS GUYS
Oh yes the work load is alot. I am on my secong semester . Its all online and being a visual learner but i am motivated
Period, This boosts my confidence even more and I am not stopping until I become I succeed.
I completely agree. Take it seriously, be organized and prepared, and participate in class whenever possible.
Congrats you go girl!!🎉
@@GrowthPeaceHealing ❤️❤️ thank you 🙏🏼
You are true nurse !! Thank you for All your work and Videos!! Go on !!
I start Nursing school Monday. REALLY needed this, thank you beautiful 💗
I just re took it 1 week ago and I got a 85%
I wanted to be a nurse from I was 5 year old and I'm still working towards that thank you for sharing your experience with us!❤️🙏
Go for it!!!
I graduated nursing school a month ago and just wanna say this video is ON POINT!
I wanna try but my high school grades aren’t so good 🥺
I needed this! I’m not in nursing school but I am on Dental school. I feel like it’s similar because they’re both medical! Thank you!
Thank you for being positive about everything and truthful! I really appreciate it not everyone is being so positive.
4 semesters in and my organizational skills have improved so much from that first semester
I changed major a long time ago from nursing to Hr but I love watching your vids! You make me want to be so organized!
Granddaughter graduated 4.0 number 1 in Uni of Houston. Wrote the NCLEX in 75 questions and is employed new nurse L&D Houston Methodist.
Me currently with a D in Physiology. I come here for the encouragement I need.
Thank you for making this video! I’ve been feeling really unmotivated and burnt out lately! You gave me a little hope ❤️
Im watching all you videos , I want to start nursing school but man a lot of things are making it not posible and watching your videos makes me not give up in trying to start and become a nurse ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for this video! I'm in my third semester and felt overwhelmed. Thank you!
Im about to start nursing school and im kind of terrified😅 Pray for me yall lol
Prayers!
You got this!!! We can do and we will do it!
@@flexiblewh0r328 Yes! Thank you❤️
lol
Thank you 🤍
Thank you for this pep talk girl I really needed this ! 🙏🏾❤️ God bless you
Thank you for these kind and encouraging words! Means a lot!!!
literally the only nursing related vid i watched that didnt gaslight my nursing school choice :))
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! I needed this talk from someone who completely understands what I’m going through right now.♥️
I appreciate how positive you are about Nursing I see so many nurses that act like they are trying to convince you to know be a nurse and I wonder why like do they not like their own job? Lol but thanks 💛
Thank you very much for this sincerely. Hearing this from a completed RN is amazing ❤️
Yesss, it's never impossible to come out great it nursing!!
Thanks very much for this motivation...You're the best!!💕
