Hi, I really appreciate the video and the step-by-step instructions in the caption! I am going to see a 200 Honda Shadow 1100cc vtc tomorrow to test ride and I want to know as much as I can about it so I don't look silly tomorrow. Am still learning about bikes. I was told that it's rebuilt and things. Am curious to know if the choke is always on the left handle bar for this model? If so, I like that! I don't understand why the key ignition is on the side though. Doesn't make any sense 🙄 Is yours a 2000?

Next to the fuel line. There's a little dial that says on, off, and res. When I got my bike it was on res. The guy started it infront of me rode it around but when I got the bike back home it would not turn over . Would just sputter .
    Help plz

So the fuel is in the on position right now correct?

@DIYTechnician no when I'm not attempting to start it I put that switch in the off position. And I put the ignition in off position as well.
When I put my jumper cables from my car to the bikes battery it sputters couple loud kicks like it's about to turn over. But when I don't have it attached to my car then it just makes weird vibration sound .

You didn't show what direction the pitcock has to be to open gas. mine doesn't have an indication on it and I forgot it's been a long time since I haven't rode it for awhile.hasn't been running I forgot what direction to turn it on. I remember right I think it's straight down anyway
