A new chapter! What do you think of the recent developments? Today we're going through the most recent two chapters, the final Miura interview, and the preview for Volume 42!
@@gintokisan5171 Noticeably less quality, but each chapter is an improvement on the last. I don’t think anyone expects it to be better than the regular manga was though, this is very much just a vehicle for Mori to tell us what the story was going to be.
I mean if I was kidnapped my by assaulter who killed all my buddies and damned me to hell, I’d probably be upset if I didn’t at least take an arm or two.
I strongly hope Casca does not become a damsel in distress again and can at least break the looping spell trying to force her to forget Guts and their friends. I read some fans want her to have an arc where she gains new armor and skills, which I'm in favor of. I'd love to see more of Casca's feelings and how she feels toward Griffith, her journey as Elaine, Guts and her son Moonlight boy. I hope she will encounter Luca or Charlotte again as well and hopefully Rickert.
Setting aside Casca's situation, I was most interested in the fact that Zodd is not bowing to Griffith in the end, he's off on the side, turned away, leaning on a column. The history of Berserk is a spiral, and I suspect Zodd will leave the new Band of the Hawk, just as Guts did before. Not exactly sure why, but I'm sure they're setting something up there.
@@alexenterprises1 the fact that Sonia is the “new Casca” for the Band of the Hawk cements this theory in my mind. If events continue as they did before, the end may occur in the middle of an eclipse again. Not sure how it’ll play out, but something is going to happen there.
@@richman360 I'm not sure "respect" is the word I'd use for the relationship apostles have with the God Hand. It's more of a reverence / fealty. Zodd has harbored a grudge against Griffith ever since he reemerged into the physical world, sliced off his horn and forced him into service. He clearly didn't like any of it, but was obligated to submit.
So, Kouji Mori has taken over the writing. Considering that he's a childhood friend of Miura, I think he would be proud and happy that his work would continue.
I really do hope that the long page count means touch-ups and expension of previous chapters. That would then make sense why they went on this hiatus. Bettering the chapters for a volume release, and working on the next ones at the same time. Very excited for volume 42 to come out.
Much like how Guts kept Griffith grounded and "sane" during his torture, Casca's mind and autonomy might be tied to her attachment to Guts, grounding her in reality
My interpretation of 372 is that Casca has been trapped in some form of dream loop or illusion. None of what we saw was real except the last few panels with Griffith and the other apostles. I guess another interpretation could be she's had some milder form of mental break. I might be totally off base and she literally attacked the guards, but the impression I got is that she's trapped in an illusion. It explains why she's placid and unquestioning through most of her day only to suddenly snap when she remembers what she's supposed to be doing. It might also explain why the pacing of the chapter was so quick and disjointed, it's supposed to feel dreamlike.
Some people said the ending with the breakout was a flashback or the first time so now the rest of it is a loop or drugging or whatever to keep her tame. Only her mind knows what's happening but it can't act any longer.
I think that all the scenes of Casca walking around the castle and playing with the kids were the illusion/dream state that she was put in, but when she snapped and started attacking the guards because she know she has to go back to Guts...that was when she was fully conscious and was reality. Since Irvine mentioned "The bird now dozes peacefully in her cage...her flight over", meaning she was let loose at one point but is now sedated from my interpretation
I feel like this final arc will be, if not an allegory for grief and loss, then at least an artistic representation of us coming to accept the passing of Miura.
I think Guts also did think about Casca first, just it was so obvious that this part wasn't shown Casca's thoughts on the other hand were not as obvious and showing her thinking of Guts confirmed a few things for us at least, y'know
It was really good to see Casca kicking around again andjust that one word of her saying Guts' name was so impactful. Zodd's dialogue with Guts on "Why he was protecting Griffith and their alliance against Ganishka are probably not accidental. Guts needs some way to harm Griffith's body. Perhaps if he can somehow strike his astral body, or perhaps Shirke and Farn can help? Hopefully Casca does not get turned into an enemy. We've got a lot invested in her. Meanwhile, Guts does not even have dependable sight atm. I don't see him winning without some help from magic.
I'm seeing this as what moghtve happened 1000 years ago from when skull knight tried saving the elf queen, but died in his arms, whatever is about to happen, is likely what happened all those years ago
@@patrickzalatoris3206 Yea, the loop of causality is repeating. There are other magical upgrades other than the behelit that Guts could use. I think Skull Knight is probably going to show up in the ship cabin to tell Guts the whole story. I'd like to see everyone need to see some repeats of the Golden Age type battles but with monster tactics.

Rickert is the only one who was able to slap Griffith, so I believe he plays a major role in taking him down. Then there is Moonlight Boy, Casca and Guts' son who shares a vessel unfortunately with Griffith. We are unsure whether or not either of them knows their child is apart of the man who caused them so much pain and once that revelation comes we will have to see can Moonlight Boy be saved or not without sacrificing him.
6:15 The fact everyone was waiting for Griffith denotes this was a plan all along. Sonia being there no doubt was the reason Zodd navigated the tree. Whether it was pre-planned or done psychically, it's all adding up to me.
it's a solid chapter. the fact that it's a new setting and tonal shift helps a lot given that we have a different team working on the story. they aren't just wrapping up someone else's arc anymore.. they are blazing their own trail.
Personally I think it more echoes Griffith's path to rising to a king. With Guts in Griffith's role now. Guts has been tortured for years, he can't see, hear, or swing his sword. And lost all motivation to keep pursuing his own "dream", and needs to rescue his "princess." He seems to have some of the best warriors on his side. But he needs someone who will rally everyone behind him, and carry guts for once. For casca I feel it is a part of her path to self acceptance. She always secretly wanted to be loved and respected as a woman. But being stuck in a cruel man's world she had to reject reality to protect herself. And later on to an even more extreme. But I hope what this arc is really doing with her story. Is helping her become who she really is inside. A powerful queen. Who might just be the "sword" that strikes the decisive blow, to "checkmate" Griffith.
I agree, this is what I hope to see for Casca in the upcoming chapters. She's tried to prove herself and show she is as formidable as any other soldier. There was a reason the old Band of the Hawk entrusted her as leader when Griffith was imprisoned and during the Eclipse when Judeau called her their leader.
i love how even when being under a spell she still can't forget our poor boy and she KNOWS that if she can't escape on her own gatsu will try . and he will for sure die . man it breaks my heart . i want a good ending for both of them but it seems more and more difficult

I loved 372. There is a strong sense that no matter what griffith is trying to give her, he can never turn her to his side (an exception might be the moonlight child). But its so cool that he treats her like this anyway. "Maybe all the suffering is worth it for this peace" must be going through her mind, the same idea that drives griffith. He is such an optimist, yet he is the villain. God I love Berserk. ❤
The guy raped her against her will bro. She wants nothing to do with him. There is nothing cool about what Griffith does, he’s literally keeping her prisoner, trying to brainwash her. He’s only and “Optimist” cuz there’s nothing that can stop him, other than the Moonlight Child which he now has some control over because he has Casca in prison
it's possible the Band of the Hawk are headed east because the Bakiraka pose a genuine threat to Falconia. we saw how well Silat and Daiba fended off Rakshas as they fled the city. I just hope Guts doesn't go reaching for that Behelit, or maybe he does, it would be cool to see his rage overcome Griffith's dominating aura
3:17 damn man it really hurts me to see how guts literally just looks older and more fragile as it transitions to him post berserker armour, you can really see how it's affected him physically in those two pictures
People have been speculating and saying that Zodd may betray Griffith. Because he will be disgusted by his actions by stealing Casca from Guts. And maybe even take her back to Guts. And it is possible others will rebel against Griffith also. Both humans and apostles.
it could happen l dont think he even respects the rest of the apostle generals they all bend the knee wilingly while he required a fight and only after he lost he accepted grifith as him master and besides zodd is treated like an errand boy

@@frigozika4372 What was interesting though is that both zodd and irvine look like they're having second thoughts Irvine might not agree with Griffith keeping her in the cage, because he probably had a companion dog or wolf in a similar position till he found it hence why he hesitated in kneeling until Locus said his name, and Zodd well he has warrior like mentality and making Guts fall to despair makes Zodd unhappy because now he has is the skull knight left and Guts was his next best thing
My biggest worry with casca being captured was it was going to be cliche and the trope... she gets corrupted, she gets brainwashed so when Guts arrives she is there fighting for Griffith. Muira was good at taking the cliches and twisting them so they weren't always how you expected... but I have seen it done so many times. Still her fighting back is good. and for Sonya she honestly likely knows, if Griffith is the anti-christ type figure. A false savior leading the people then she is likely the whore of babylon type. She fits wanting to be with griffith, she spread word of his deeds and turned a lot of peoples opinion about the demons who are just waiting nearby the city to tear the people apart.
Ok, so i doubt anyone will see this but i wanted to give my view on zodd and skull knights relation to each other. Zodd is often confused for another which we now know was who skull knight use to be. So, what if after skull knights death brain somehow seperated his own inner beast from him? Thus creating zodd. This could be why zodd is a battle crazed berserker because once upon a time he was an inner beast of darkness to the man that died wearing the berserk armor.
To be honest I think we've already seen everything we needed to see from casca, the only reason to see her again in falconia is if she had an important interaction like she meets Charlotte or Sonia, but other than that I don't think we need to see her in her cave, I think the next chapter is going to either revolve around Griffith plan, or switch to rickert, I think they will save guts for last, and see whether he will give in to his despair, or struggle one more time.
Havent read berserk since the eclipse and Casca was taken...sigh...AGAIN and with the chapters release rate I couldnt bare to continue at that point. Had to give myself a long break for a good amount of reading material.
it was fun to see Casca be like a warrior again for a chapter before Griffith turned her into a damsel victim again. but i guess at least we're getting chapters again so i won't complain lol
I don't think Casca of all people will just put on a dress and pretend to be a noblewoman. We saw that when she was given a dress in Elfhelm she still preferred to wear something functional. The only time she wore a dress was in Golden Age to celebrate the victory over Tudor but most likely she also did it for Griffith as well. It's too strange that she was so obedient and followed a schedule out of her own will now that she as her mind back. The Casca we know will just resist and try to attack anyone just like the end of the chapter and try to get out. I can't wait to see/read a conversation between her and Griffith which i thought we were getting this chapter. Overall i think it was a beautiful chapter the team improved a lot. Miura-sensei will be proud.
Zodd didn't navigate the world tree on his own. he followed griffith, as he always does when he is in moonboy form, he just waited up there until the barrier was down
I think somehow cascas gonna end up using the behelit, her dress was crimson, and that is very significant with the egg of the king used to become a godhand, I think guts dies going after casca and she sacrifices herself to personally kill griffith
I never believed it but Zodd is playing an important role. I would NOT be surprised if Zodd becomes Guts ally. I would not be surprised if there is turmoil in Falconia and war spout against Griffith. That is likely to happen. Griffith is a perfect narcissist who destroyed and raped the lives of many. I think that outcome is being prepared.
Barely any progress were made in the last chapter. Sure the previous chapters were pretty intense, but seriously though? For a monthly release it's just too long of a wait for too little of content.
Haven't read either, and felt serious psychic damage seeing this. Just read them. I don't like this. It feels like a montage instead of a fleshed-out story.

This is a manga that has less dialogue, inner thoughts, and narration This mangaka relies a lot on his great Art to tell the stories he makes and the results are very good (in my opinion) Now even though the visual story telling is good, many people don't like it because of the lack of dialogue, inner thoughts, and narration in the manga I think maybe Berserk from chapter 365 until the last chapter will be like that because it looks like studio gaga and Mori are quite fundamentalist themselves Making Berserk's chapters only based on what Miura told them and Miura's notes Does not want to expand it any further And I can understand that But unfortunately the art from chapters 365 to 372 has not reached that level in my opinion Obviously It does not have to be like Miura's Art But really close to that would great to me

I mean, Casca on the cover, then her before she’s captured, and her being dressed are really clashing here. You can definitely tell this is a team of many people and many different styles. The consistency is thrown by it.

Zodd is often confused for another which we now know was who skull knight use to be. So, what if after skull knights death brain somehow seperated his own inner beast from him? Thus creating zodd.
This could be why zodd is a battle crazed berserker because once upon a time he was an inner beast of darkness to the man that died wearing the berserk armor.

To be honest I think we've already seen everything we needed to see from casca, the only reason to see her again in falconia is if she had an important interaction like she meets Charlotte or Sonia, but other than that I don't think we need to see her in her cave, I think the next chapter is going to either revolve around Griffith plan, or switch to rickert, I think they will save guts for last, and see whether he will give in to his despair, or struggle one more time.
Guts always bounces back he will become more powerful, I hope the story ends with a OKay ending like the sun is comes in tomorrow.idk.
Havent read berserk since the eclipse and Casca was taken...sigh...AGAIN and with the chapters release rate I couldnt bare to continue at that point. Had to give myself a long break for a good amount of reading material.
it was fun to see Casca be like a warrior again for a chapter before Griffith turned her into a damsel victim again.

I don't think Casca of all people will just put on a dress and pretend to be a noblewoman. We saw that when she was given a dress in Elfhelm she still preferred to wear something functional. The only time she wore a dress was in Golden Age to celebrate the victory over Tudor but most likely she also did it for Griffith as well. It's too strange that she was so obedient and followed a schedule out of her own will now that she as her mind back. The Casca we know will just resist and try to attack anyone just like the end of the chapter and try to get out. I can't wait to see/read a conversation between her and Griffith which i thought we were getting this chapter. Overall i think it was a beautiful chapter the team improved a lot. Miura-sensei will be proud.

Zodd didn't navigate the world tree on his own. he followed griffith, as he always does when he is in moonboy form, he just waited up there until the barrier was down

I think somehow cascas gonna end up using the behelit, her dress was crimson, and that is very significant with the egg of the king used to become a godhand, I think guts dies going after casca and she sacrifices herself to personally kill griffith

the best thing about this chapter is seeing zodd pissed off, looking at griffith, is becoming more clear that he will Betray griffith

I never believed it but Zodd is playing an important role. I would NOT be surprised if Zodd becomes Guts ally. I would not be surprised if there is turmoil in Falconia and war spout against Griffith.

Barely any progress were made in the last chapter. Sure the previous chapters were pretty intense, but seriously though? For a monthly release it's just too long of a wait for too little of content.
I want Griffith to die and suffer for his crimes but I also want Guts to be happy, sadly those two things don't seem to go together well.

I mean, Casca on the cover, then her before she’s captured, and her being dressed are really clashing here. You can definitely tell this is a team of many people and many different styles. The consistency is thrown by it.
