But I feel like Zodd is conflicted with his definition of strength and whether Griffith is actually worthy of being considered strong because Guts is still human and is kicking the ass of everything along the way, even Zodd's and other super strong apostles - and that should be impossible for a human. So I feel like Zodd thinks Griffith "cheated", in the sense that he's only powerful because he became an Apostle, not because he is/was inherently strong like Guts is. I really hope Rickert catches wind of this situation and raids the capital with the Bakiraka and Silat to try and rescue Casca. Perhaps Guts and crew will join them eventually.
I hav a strong feeling Zodd won't stick to Griffith's side much longer, he knows Casca is a fine warrior and seen her held up like this may go against his believes in strenght, and he has been seen to 'team up' with foes against a greater threat like he did with Gutz, call me crazy but I bet on Zodd betraying Griffith and help Guts somehow directly or not

Like Miura said in his last interview, I believe we are about 70% into the story. The past half year of Gaga taking its time, finding its pacing and now as we see in 372; gaining confidence in its style, more focused on visual story telling than dialogue, has for me at least been a huge relief. Berserk is still here, and I am confident we will see the story to an end. Will it be as good as coming from the hands of Miura himself? Of course now. Miura cannot be replaced, but his vision is true, and we should all be so thankful and aware of how lucky we are it is being seen to completion.
And their dedication is unquestionable, based upon that June '22 Twitter post on Mori's page. Only thing is, if we're 70% of the way, that's likely another 7-10 years we're lookin' at. Not to say that I'm impatient...I'm deeply enjoying every single page.

The peoblem with Casca's new dress isn't just thats it's from Griffith, its thst ot shares his motif. Not just the headdress, but the skirt portion shares his feather decor. Its a not so subtle show that she is in his power, not Guts.
thats what i was thinking. They put her to sleep and that whoel thing was just her dreaming. But then again they said "we subdued her" that could either mean she has been sleeping that whole time or they caught her after she started going apeshit. Its honestly such a vague chapter that its hard to even say what any of that means. Griffith is definitely going east though thats for sure.
I think it's the opposite. I think it was the parts where she was in the dress was when she was in the dream state, and then when she wakes up she tries to fight the guards off
@@trippasnippa119 Isn't East the direction in which Elfhelm was in relation to Falconia? I forget exactly where I've seen a fan-made map before, but I'm pretty sure that's the case. Don't quote me
@@trippasnippa119 When Griffith says "East" I think he's talking about the tree who used to be the king from the east. It makes a lot more sense this way with what he says about "East" still being alive.
I have a theory about Zodd not being down with Griffith anymore. Even if it‘s just about the pettiness of needing to own people vs fighting them and surviving alone. The luxury he lavishes in when Zodd is a man of just warrior instinct, he could even just be upset that Griffith took Casca thinking it will break Guts as a man before he finally gets his last duel with him. Zodd is all about the thrill of the battle and show of strength, what I would like to imagine happening is that a God Hand emerges and surrounds himself with a bunch of apostles…this just denies him any thrill of battle, war is just TOO easy now for them. In his own way Zodd is still stuck on Guts, a mortal, a human with (as far as we know) no destiny chosen from the GH besides to be a worthy sacrifice gave him one of the best battles he’s has in his life. Since then he’s saved his life when something like bad luck cracked his sword finally (he gave him a fair chance, Guts still could’ve died even when a sword but he won) then to survive the Eclipse and continue to fight on. Killing multiple apostles and then giving him another fight at HOS where, to be honest…no winner was deducted, it was a draw until Griffith touched Casca. Then to top it all off, Guts climbed on his back, held his sword to his throat and they destroyed an insanely powerful being together. You look at his warrior mentality and take into account that Griffith is using his strength for narcissism and political control, that the wars they fight are barely even warm ups for them, and that ontop of that Griffith has a vulnerability that makes him a child unable to fend for himself once a month. I won’t be surprised if Zodd says peace and goes to join Guts even if it’s just to help a struggler and experience the best and most important battle of fate. Whenever someone compares Guts to an apostle it’s always clear he most resembles Zodd; he is what Guts would be if he were to become an apostle and have not joined the BOTH, where Skull Knight is what Guts will be if he continues on with the armor and rage. Perhaps Zodd has a similar story to Guts prior to being chosen to be an apostle and realizes Griffith is akin to a person who stole his woman/ destroyed all he cared for. Maybe he’s just fed up that Griffith is dicking around and stealing Casca when Guts was in front of them and Zodd could finally have his battle…
I like the way you contrasted Guts with Zodd & Skull Knight, I never looked at it that way. I knew that Skull Knight and Guts are obviously (not in a literal sense) the same person. Eclipse took everything, and now they're on the war path. Guts & Zodd have the same warrior instinct. Zodd being a warrior for millennia, and Guts bring a swordsman since he was a mere child. Definitely just widened my theories with that.
I can add little to the original comment. Zodd is clearly unhappy with what's happening, and Sonia's prediction SEEMED like it was for the one battle, but if it's long term then Zodd might become an ally who helps Guts succeed in dethroning Griffiths.
@@kingkap18 also when Guts is questioned on why he risks his life so much for insignificant battles, his answer has always been because his instinct pushes him more fight vs flight. He even tells Casca the same when she wonders why he fought the 100 men, and although we can assume he’s lying I think in that moment he still truly believes it because he doesn’t know he loves Casca yet. Casca says “so you fought 100 men because it’s not in your nature to run from a battle?” To which Guts says “pretty much.” That sounds like a mortal Zodd would’ve been prior to being made an apostle. Zodd’s apostle form lives for battle and battle alone, and as we can see with the SK it’s a lingering from his humanity that pushes him to continue on for revenge, for Griffith he still wants domination of a kingdom, so by that logic we can assume that some of the persona prior to interference with the God Hand still remains after their rebirth. Zodd was a Guts, that’s why there was immediate respect. Like when Gut’s gambles his life with one swing, Zodd finds it humorous but shows him respect for it
Aesthetically speaking the dress looks stunning on her. Symbolically speaking tho, it's almost haunting in a way as she has a winged headband.. and Griffith is always associated visually with wings and falcons..
We optimists like to think Guts is gonna win, pessimists think Guts is gonna loose. I never entertained the idea that Ciasca might be the one who deals the final blow. It would be... poetic. Like the flow of causality.
Here's kind of an 'out there' idea: You know how it's likely that Casca's trauma from the Eclipse had to be sectioned off (or pushed down and separated from the other memories)? Well, Guts' Beast of Darkness, in my mind, is largely the manifestation of his hiding and pushing down his own trauma from his rape as a child (among all the other horrific things). I WONDER. How fucking crazy would it be if Casca develops her own Jungian "Beast". As in, she too becomes a Berzerker of sorts. If something like that transpired, and she was the one to fuck Griffith up, it would be all the sweeter to see Bird-Dick go down.
@Alex P l would like to see a team up between guts skull knight casca a d zodd. Zodd seems very disappointed in the curent state of things and the prophecy sonia told him about him and guts l think there is more to it then that 1 team up they had
@@gabrijelaziza9768 I can't wait to read everything again. Chapter 1 starts tonight for my third go-around (had read the prequel chapters/Dark Swordsman already this past week)
The arts is so much better now, although the pacing & chance for dialogues scenes are still weird imo. Which is very understandable considering the team work with no scripts & trying to add something that wasn't available. I think they should improvise a lot more on this aspects, especially the dialogues, in which I think Miura sensei would be proud of it regardless. The audacity of Griffith ultimate evil knows no bounds bruh. He kidnapes her, the procees to put a spell on her again, make her delirious, like some kind of sleep walking day by day. I really hope we get more Casca chapters right away & we need encounter scenes between Casca & characters in Falconia, especially Sonia.
Griffiths is a narcissistic abuser, who uses others to better himself and either throws away people who become useless, or who never lets go when people want to escape.
This puts the nail in the coffin in that "Casca actually loves Griffith" BS, she fell in love with Guts and only wanted to stay with Griffith pre-Eclipse because she felt gulity for "betraying" someone she devoted her life to. Now she's one actively refecting his utopia.
Honestly, this entire chapter made my heart ache, just seeing Casca mention Guts' name, and her seeing him walk away, it just really made me feel disgusted and fueled with anger.
That's just another thing that makes this story so special. Guts moves and acts on pure Hate since he was a kid (and moreso after the Eclipse). A lot of us that read Berzerk can really identify personally with the high-energy that hatred and pure "fuck this thing/person in particular" attitude brings. I never feel more empowered than when I have something to focus my rage upon, even if an abstract concept is the locus of my anger.
It's pretty apparent to me that she is still mentally recovering. She has definitely made progress as she no longer reverts to a child, but she is unexpressive, doesn't express much emotion, and is prone to outbursts of rage.
Keep in mind that it may also be a part of a spell or emotion/thought manipulation. And there are several characters that have the ability to do that in Falconia.
damn the art has reached miuras status in this chapter. the earlier chapters had a few mistakes here and there especially in peoples faces but this is amazing.
I want to be reactionary and call Blasphemy, but I gotta say it is so damn close that you'd be hard-pressed to make a comparison judgement between this chapter and the best Miura ones.
One thing that I noticed is the improvement in the art. It certainly has improved chapter by chapter, and it is probably because Mori and crew are taking their time to stay as close to Miura’s style (which also explains the long wait as well). I hope they can continue their progress and finish what their friend and master, Kentaro Miura, started.
I see it as not only Griffith keeping posession of Casca, but also him rubbing his kingdom in her face. All that he was able to accomplish without her and Guts and the rest of the group. How he has achieved the kingdom he wanted
Another beautifully orchestrated and illustrated chapter! I can certainly sympathize with anyone who didn't feel comfortable with a continuation after Miura passed, but I think Mori and the team at Studio Gaga are really knocking this out of the park (thus far). Bravo!
Seeing people still defending Griffith after the torment he's put Guts and Casca through is disgusting. If Guts doesn't kill him, I hope Casca does. Even Rickert killing him would be acceptable. I only hope there is a way Guts and Casca's son can survive the end of the series if things go that direction
Thank you Kouji Mori and Studio Gaga. This chapter was excellent. So happy to see Casca again but equally sad to see the state Griffith has put her in. The struggle continues.
All Griffiths had to do was tell the denizens of the island to never leave the island, and he'd leave them alone. But the narcissistic bastard couldn't leave a potential threat, so he's guaranteed the strongest opposition he'll face, and what I believe will be his inevitable downfall.
She basically IS Guts post eclipse. She's only barely coming to the realization that her friends are all dead.. and she's starting at square one with her grief. I love the art of her with the Berserk eyes. Very well done.
@@ToneSherpa She's going to have to come in terms with the fact that the man 'Griffith' whom she loved and admired actually turned out to be an monster. I hope Casca joins with Rickert's group at some point, knowing he's the only other person besides Guts that knows what was going on! Honest I feel Post 2020 made us all like Guts in some shape or form.
@@YamiSpyroX yeah I can see that heading in that direction. Rickert and his new group rescuing Casca is a pretty logical development for the story to take. Of course.. Berserk never quite goes the way you think it will!
@@ToneSherpa She could also get inside help/guidance from Sonia but I find it unlikely she'll ever turn on Griffith. The unexcepted twist that I'm expecting is for Void to wind up turning on Griffith for perhaps maybe spreading his rule too far/usurping the God-hands authority for creating too much Order when they solely want Chaos. I do believe Miura had drawn Skull Knight's queen/finance' to resemble Griffith on purpose, so maybe we could see an conflicted Guts holding an wounded Griffith! Did you see the 2020 Miura Interview? I can't believe he was going to die an year later! (Rip MAN. RIP!)
@@ToneSherpa Made a bit of a mistake on my previous post. I said Miura died a year later, when he actually died like 6 months after said interview. Really brutal that he seemed in such a good spirits and normal and just suddenly die! And I first got into Berserk like 2018/2019 so double ouch. I wasn't thinking about it but how do you think the Berserk God 'Idea of Evil' will factor into the final conflict? I know Miura chose to leave that part out of the official manga, but I still curious 'and warry' how that thing is going to come into the final arc, if this is the one. I don't think Guts is going to beat it, but I don't think he'll die either. Miura had meant there to be an 'happy' ending and I believe/hope Koji Mora is going to fall through with it.
Hopefully with Casca being in Falconia (built upon the ruins of King Gaseric's old empire) we get a history of King Gaseric's past, his lover, the sage that turn into Void, the first Eclipse, etc. I think the reason for the long hiatus is that the next few chapters will require a lot of momentum so they are going to release as many chapters as possible the following months to build up the excitement.
This really feels like a different Berserk, its like we had Miura's dark sketches, and now suddenly we had to change the DVD disk, and it transported us to this new world, Falconia, and the art really compliments the the helix tree, its emanating bright light, and also Mori's is more "flimsy" in comparison. Also Casca wakes up from a dream in this chapter, adding to the atmosphere.
The team seems to be afraid in adding dialogues since they have no scripts & detailed plots aren't available. I think Mori sensei & Studio Gaga nees to take a leap of faith & do improvisation so the pacing of the story can be a lot better.
Finally some sense. People screaming masterpiece for this aborted chapters, without even noticing the slightest difference with miura, they are talking like if the embody perfectly the miura style, they are so fkinh bling and dumb...
@@crozraven I also agree, and I'm sure their confidence will continue to grow like we're seeing it grow with the art. But, there is high reward/high risk situation here. If a lot of us fans don't feel like the dialogue fits a major or lead character well at all, then that's some real pissed off fans (especially the ones that have been fans much longer than myself).
If we're going by the assumption that Griffith kidnapped Casca in order to control his current "Moon boy weakness", I wonder if a time might come where he realizes that solely capturing the Mother wasn't enough? We know the Moon boy is also heavily linked with Guts (his dad), albeit less than Casca, but what if by the next Full Moon Griffith/Moonboy finds himself seeking Guts as well? It seems like a natural follow up that Griffith would then have to kidnap Guts and put him under his control as well. What if we see a scenario where Griffith offers Guts and Casca a perfect life together under Falconia, as a way to keep them appeased and not have his Moonboy phases interrupt his plan? What if the only way to defeat Griffith is for Guts and Casca to murder their own child? These scenarios would really test the themes of trauma vs moving forward in berserk Whatever ends up happening, I think Griffiths actions these past few chapters have confirmed that his Moonboy phase is indeed a weakness and something that may be the key to stopping him
dude said chapters instead of years, without even thinking of it. Casca was like, brainless for a loooong time really nice to see her being ready to fight again
Griffith true face is finally getting peeled back to the open. While I agree that the art-style is great, it's different from Miura's. I know it can't be helped, but it's still melancholic. RIP Miura.
Make notice towards the end when Casca sees the water on tub it then transition to her seating next to a doll house. What if she put on a mental prison? And the sequence of her waking up from sleep is a way of a repeating dream cast from that doll house.
Great chapter. I think the art is improving. And I think we will see many more chapters this year. I bet we get chapters to the end of the year, or near it.
I think this expertly shows that while falconia is a perfect world it means nothing to those who live there. They have no agency its a trance. This perfect world only is perfect to griffith
I see it as Casca is being hypnotized, like it's a weak hypnotism, but hypnotism none the less to keep her there so Griffith, at least he hopes, won't long for her like before since the Full Moon Child is part of him.
Koji Mori needs to work on the choreography of his fight scenes better. He never pans out on the action so we really can't see what's going on. Did Casca really cut off the hand of that prison guard?
the sacrifice turned Griffith into a beast devoid of humanity, its very parallel to what people do in life, some achieve a lot and ascend to the top but in return they give up their humanity. Griffith wasn't a great guy to begin with, but his actions has now turned him into a subhuman monstrosity, blinded by selfish desires and his own narrow minded ambition. guts is a honest representation of what it means to be human, we all struggle with life "fate" but we push on, not for us, but for the things "small things" that we value in our lives, a hope for tomorrow, without a grandiose plan, just the instinct to survive and overcome, so that we could protect what really matters
Casca no way in hell would wear a dress and pretend to be a noblewoman and be so obedient. In Elfhelm she immediately chose to wear something functional even though she was safe. Casca will try and fight and escape. It's most likely a spell put on by Griffith or Sonia on Casca to keep her in a dream world state. When she wakes up and starts fighting that's for real i think because the guards are there really really fast which means she is heavily guarded all the time. The programing of the spell was interrupted when petals fell in her bath tub and triggered her memory from Elfhelm which always had flower petals blowing in the wind. The real Casca is the one that woke up and chose violence in order to escape and i think it's not her first attempt. She knew right away she was in danger and had to flee.
I hope Zodd turns good, then sides with Guts and Skullknight. Thing is, also, Griffith does have some vulnerability as we saw him shedding tears after morphing from the moonlight kid. Yet, it was said he would never shed a tear again when he was transforming into Femto.
I don't think Zodd will turn out good... but I do think Zodd will turn out pragmatic and honorable, as opposed to Griffiths' selfish and conniving narcissism. I'm also sure that it was never part of the intended plan to have The Moonlight Child merge with Griffiths, which is another small even with big consequences, just like so much in Berserk.
To me it just looked like Zod was guarding the room, we’ve seen him standing off to the side of Griffith exactly like this before. Didn’t seem to me to have anything other than that, the others are just reporting to Griffith, Zod was most likely already there.
I think it's def possible it was an arbitrary Zodd scene. It will really tell how skilled Gaga and Mori's storytelling abilities are, if it truly does come to a Zodd heel-turn. The scene was juuust negligible enough that it's a complete mystery what Zodd could be thinking.
I think I’m the only one who wants to see some dark souls esque battles between Guts and the False Band of the Falcon and witness some some high level apostles get bodied..
Maybe when Griffith turns into the Moonlight Boy and visits Casca, she will temporarily break the spell, remember Griffith is the boy and commit infanticide.
Hey I wrote a I don't know what I would call it but about 3-5 paragraph work about the going ons of Berserk. I posted it on RLR and got some positive feed back. The gist of it is that the Moon light Child may very well intend for his parents to kill him and Griffith, it's more aware than a normal child with great intelligence, not a idiot savant but a autistic savant. The child willingly gave up it's body and already new the outcome but it could at least spend some time with his parents in a normal fashion. The child gives a weakness to Griffith having the ability to affect his emotions. Given the type of guy Miura was im pretty sure he knew the international proverb A cages Nightingale never sings ,Irvine knows that Griffith wants her to sing and she never will and he knows she's a liability his comments are more than just him using flowery words his comment carry's weight beside just sounding artistic, because of the moonlight child's emotions effecting his, Griffiths judgement is clouded. Irvine seems to have a very keen tactical mind, he's not a brute and values intelligence, he may we'll see more of the big picture, I don't think that he would willingly betray Griffith, he's a pretty devoted man, but it could turn into Irvine sees that, she has to be removed for Griffiths great glorious future to be fully realized and it turn into one of those "for your own good" moments. I could be reading to much into it, but Miura always was swimming in the deep end while most can only dog paddle in the shallow. Also some story think it came from Asia about a caged bird forgot what was researching right now. Was there a mechanical bird in it or some such? But 110% I'm sure Miura was student of the Jung school of philosophy. Are you familiar with Joseph Campbell The Mono Myth?

How short [every] chapter feels 😢...
"No rest for the wicked." So Griffiths is gonna die tired, and Guts is probably gonna die old and feeble before his time, but loved and happy.
The peoblem with Casca's new dress isn't just thats it's from Griffith, its thst ot shares his motif. Not just the headdress, but the skirt portion shares his feather decor. Its a not so subtle show that she is in his power, not Guts.
It seems like that section where she was fighting was just a dream to me
thats what i was thinking.
That fighting scene actually really happen but the soldiers of falconia catched her and she was brought back to her chamber
This is very promising stuff from Mori and Gaga! So glad I’ve joined up in the past couple of months for the rest of this ride!!!
Like when Gut’s gambles his life with one swing, Zodd finds it humorous but shows him respect for it
The art is getting better! Great chapter!
Aesthetically speaking the dress looks stunning on her.
Symbolically speaking tho, it's almost haunting in a way as she has a winged headband.. and Griffith is always associated visually with wings and falcons..
I was binge watching some of your videos and got your notification, glad you're still on. Hype for Berserk 372🔥
We optimists like to think Guts is gonna win, pessimists think Guts is gonna loose. I never entertained the idea that Ciasca might be the one who deals the final blow. It would be... poetic. Like the flow of causality.
Here's kind of an 'out there' idea:
You know how it's likely that Casca's trauma from the Eclipse had to be sectioned off (or pushed down and separated from the other memories)?
Well, Guts' Beast of Darkness, in my mind, is largely the manifestation of his hiding and pushing down his own trauma from his rape as a child (among all the other horrific things).
I WONDER. How fucking crazy would it be if Casca develops her own Jungian "Beast". As in, she too becomes a Berzerker of sorts. If something like that transpired, and she was the one to fuck Griffith up, it would be all the sweeter to see Bird-Dick go down.

How he has achieved the kingdom he wanted
wow finally someone with a good take on this chapter
Another beautifully orchestrated and illustrated chapter! I can certainly sympathize with anyone who didn't feel comfortable with a continuation after Miura passed, but I think Mori and the team at Studio Gaga are really knocking this out of the park (thus far). Bravo!

Also Casca wakes up from a dream in this chapter, adding to the atmosphere.
I like the direction the art and story are taking.
The team seems to be afraid in adding dialogues since they have no scripts & detailed plots aren't available. I think Mori sensei & Studio Gaga nees to take a leap of faith & do improvisation so the pacing of the story can be a lot better.

These scenarios would really test the themes of trauma vs moving forward in berserk
Whatever ends up happening, I think Griffiths actions these past few chapters have confirmed that his Moonboy phase is indeed a weakness and something that may be the key to stopping him

This refuels my hatred for Griffith...
Make notice towards the end when Casca sees the water on tub it then transition to her seating next to a doll house. What if she put on a mental prison? And the sequence of her waking up from sleep is a way of a repeating dream cast from that doll house.

Perhaps I’ve misread, but there finally seems to be some tension among the apostles and I’m fucking here for it.
Griffith takes a trip to Afghanistan and loses to Mujahideen armed with Rickert's stinger missiles.
I can see zodd and guts having a conversation
Me, starting 372: "Oh my fuck. I am so happy right now."
Me, a blink of an eye later: "ITS OVER ALREADY?!.."
the sacrifice turned Griffith into a beast devoid of humanity, its very parallel to what people do in life, some achieve a lot and ascend to the top but in return they give up their humanity.
