Yup, six years after this video, Adam Savage was still obsessing about Blade Runner, such as this One Day Build of two Snub-Nosed Blade Runner Blasters: ua-cam.com/video/9XB4Be6TjHU/v-deo.html

On a side thing, I remember them saying about how they'd specifically designed working weapon props for Dredd.
Apparently this allowed them to act with functioning props as opposed to having to stop and switch props all the time.
I wonder if they meant blank firing and everything and it sounds like this is clearly an abnormality.

In 1996 I had the opportunity to buy Adam’s resin kit at his flat in San Francisco.
He met me at the door and was so kind. He showed his props including a lightsaber. Wow!
I am so glad this came along for me.

I always find myself returning here.
I owe a lot to this video, as it was this showcase that not only started my own fascination with the Blade Runner pistol, but also made me realise that I wanted to pursue a career in Production design.
So Thank you Tested and Adam.

I'm Italian and I LOL'd at 15:32. "A very famous Italian toy designer named Edison Jee-ocka-TOAL-ee".
Someone should tell Adam that "Edison Giocattoli" is the name of the company that made that toy laser gun, not of a person, and "giocattoli" means "toys" and it's pronounced "joe-CUT-tolee".

For me the look and sound of the gun made it so cool. Its futuristic yet classic looking. The sound of a shot fired isn't quite normal. Sounds like there is more going on then a hammer striking a blasting cap. Like you hear more of the bullet then the explosion from the casing . I love it. One of the best films ever.

It's hard to get a decent look at it because they don't get a super detailed shot but you could probably keep the revolver functioning. Obviously not the rifle section because that's just a chamber. Would be cool if it did though.

You know how people often say "hey, if you could meet any celebrity who would it be?". I've often thought to myself that to be a dumb question as many "celebrities" aren't even seen to be 'real people' in the eyes of the general public due to the many factors surrounding how people with fame are perceived online or through the media. However, Adam will forever be to me the only person that I would be genuinely be honored and privileged to meet just so I could tell him how much he has been an inspiration and nostalgic influence to me.
Although I have no interest in following in his footsteps to be a model maker or being involved in the film industry etc. Adam as a person is the most interesting and humbling man I've ever had the pleasure of being introduced to and his impact on my childhood as both an entertainer and the pure nostalgia of mythbusters makes him the one and only person I hope to one day meet just so I can thank him for all the great memories of growing up and so I can shake his hand.
Adam you are a legend and I love you

There's something like it in fallout new Vegas called that gun

    • @sannyfolkesson2226
      @sannyfolkesson2226 10 років тому +6

that gun is a nod to bladerunner and fallout 1, as in the first game it appear as a item for completing a rather difficult quest, and there ti was called the ".223 pistol" and was the most powerful gun in the game, later obsidian (some key peps did make f1 and 2) got a chance to do fallout NW and they put almost all guns back in the game and changed its name to "that gun" for that is what all refers it to.

It really bugs me how that asian guy doesn't seem to care about what Adam has to say. He doesn't even laugh at his jokes or mirror his energy, he acts like it's a serious interview or something.

I just love how much disdain so many people have for Norm. He basically IS Tested and literally half of the reason any of you people get the wonderful opportunity to watch these videos. It really seems like nobody knows that he's the cofounder...

The Fox and the Facehugger sounds like a children's story,
I like how there's just a Fox and a Facehugger sitting on the table the whole time
also I like how Adam's brown handle gun is what I thought of as a Bladerunner gun before I actually got round to watching the movie

Fantastic. Devotion is evident. A much simpler prop has obsessed me since the movie came out. The glass Derkerd drinks from in his apartment, that square one with the pointed corners, sort of like star point sections...anybody know what I'm talking about? If so, where I could obtain a copy of that. Long shot, very.
