  • One of the holy grail props in movie history is Deckard's PKD Blaster from Blade Runner. This iconic pistol has been intensely studied by replica prop builders, including Adam Savage. Adam finally meets the real hero prop--in the collection of Dan Lanigan--and bring his own storied replica to compare with the original!
    Thanks to Dan Lanigan of Mammoth Props for giving us this opportunity! www.mammothprops.com/

      +A Man You just know he would have bought it if he could have. He just came off the last season of a 14 year long world famous tv show, with no end of resudual checks in sight (if he didn't get screwed in his contracts). Just makes me wonder how stupidly rich this Dan Lanigan is to be able to out bid many others for all these highly sought after collectibles.

      If you watch closely at 7:53 Adam says "what in the world can that be" and points over Dan's shoulder, then switches the blasters.

    I love seeing Adam so happy and excited. It's how i'd react to seeing something that meant so much to me. What I like even more about this particular video is that Adam gets to see how close his is to the original. And a little bit of patina and bluing aside his is near perfect. Interestingly given how firearms finishes can change over time depending on storage conditions, etc. Adam's may be closer to how the pistol looked at time of filming :) Either way always love seeing Adam getting a chance to nerd out on a piece of iconic movie stuffs. Whether it's admiring an original or making his own.

      Dork comes in many guises. Somebody who spends every cent the have on a fancy gas range, maybe a person who has 300 tennis shoes and pays thousands for a pair of Jordan’s, perhaps the pair of girls who spend 2 hours putting makeup on each other every night and have hundreds of shades and varieties of nail polish.
      We all have our unique obsessions

      Bladerunner is pretty slow so it's not for everyone. If you watch it, watch it with the context that it was a first of it's kind.
      I fell asleep the first time I watched it but it is worth trying.

    It really is such a nice prop. I have one of the NECA replicas that released with a collectors edition of Blade Runner 2049. Obviously nowhere near the level of Adam Savage’s prop or even the Tomenosuke blasters, but as a broke person, it’s the next best thing. Definitely my favourite thing in my movie memorabilia collection.

    Damn... that guy must be helluva rich! - and why is that Alien queen not behind glass! - jeez these are artifacts that will not drop in value, protect them! The blaster is so cool though, my favourite hero weapon bar none - it's maybe not as recognisable as Robocops gun, or Hellboys gun... but it beautiful - the transparent amber grip is what does it for me.

    i feel like a blade runner evangelist sometimes but just wanna throw the word out there. the blade runner sequel is coming out october 2017. it's directed by denis villeneuve and the cinematography is by roger deakins. the cast has ryan gosling, harrison ford, robin wright, jared leto among others. villeneuve's 'Arrival' is coming out next month.apparently a great sci flick. check out sicario and prisoners as well to get an idea of his directing style.

      +Theo Roosevelt you have to, though if you've never seen and enjoyed a very old science fiction movie, it may not be that impressive to you, so don't feel bad if you don't really like it (most people get nostalgia, at the time the standards were another thing)

    • @eustacequinlank7418

      I don't get nostalgia, I love the film because it's amazing. Do people really mentally throw classics out the window because they weren't made in the last 10 years? Oh well, Fritz Lang, Eisenstein, Bergman, Hitchcock, Fellini, Tarkovsky you're in the dust bin because some of your films were all scratchy and in black and white.
      I swear this generation doesn't know they are born.

    • @LOKO22Bach
      @LOKO22Bach 8 років тому

      Man Beadle I am not from that generation, I was just warning people so the hype doesn't get to them, the hype can always harm what would naturally be an awesome experience (if you want an example, you could just look at what happens all the time with any good game or movie that is hyped nowadays, people shit on them).
      Also, I recently turned 22, so this movie isn't from my generation, that doesn't mean that I don't love it (or any other old movie for that matter, heck I even have a few black and white favorites). Though, I cansee where your anger is comming from... this comment was in the hope of opening your mind a little, not everyone with a fault is a dick)
