The Walking Dead - Best Moment From Each Season (S1-S7)

- Hey guys - only one week left until Season 8 premieres! I edited this video together showing the best moment from each season as a re-cap from the past 7 years of this show! Here is an explanation for each moment and why I chose it...also, sorry for the poor titles, on this, I spent a lot of time just rendering and waiting with this one, so I didn't choose the best font :/, and I think this is my last "non-edit" video like this, so enjoy :)
Season 1/CDC Explosion - For this season, I was torn between choosing the scene where the walkers attack the camp or this CDC escape scene. I had to go with this one because it showed Rick and the group that not only was everyone infected (that we learn later in S02) but that they might regret this day later on "the day will come when you won't be".
Season 2/Shane's death - For season 2, I already knew I wanted to pick this scene because this is arguably the best scene of the whole series. Shane has fully gone crazy and is now going to try to kill Rick. I love the way Shane calls him out for having a weak boy, broken wife, and how he contradicts himself by saying "I'm not the good guy anymore". Also, Rick killing Shane, his best friend, showed him that it truly is kill or be killed, and that the world he knew was completely gone. If you want to survive in this world, you have to kill others or else you will die.
Season 3/Governor's First Attack - This season had a lot of great moments, like the group clearing/taking the prison, Lori's death, the attack on Woodbury, etc., but this one was very important. The quick change in tense from 2 people laughing enjoying themselves to a quick paced all out gunfight was a very great moment. This showed the group that good things don't last long (like the prison, or the moment before Lori died when she was smiling at Rick). This was also the thing that set Rick off to want "war" with the Governor. The scene set the tone for the next season until the final battle in 4x8.
Season 4/Rick Kills Joe - This has to be my favorite scene from the show. The pure brutality that Joe's group shows to Rick and Carl was hard to watch. I could never imagine watching my child getting molested right in front of my eyes, with a gun to my head. Rick had to think fast, and use the only weapon he had on him, his teeth. This scene not only was very important for Rick's transformation, but it is very thematic to the title of the show "the walking dead", because Rick is killing his victims like a walker, using his teeth to bite into his enemy.
Season 5/Reg Death, Pete Death, Morgan Returns - Although season 5 had some amazing scenes like terminus, rick & red handled machete, and discovering Alexandria, this scene had it all. Reg dies, Rick (without hesitation) shoots Pete in the head, and then in the middle of all of this, Morgan returns. It was 3 major things happening within 2 minutes.
Season 6/Negan introduced, POV kill - Although we saw a lot this season with the wolves attacking, the herd of walkers that attack Alexandria, and Carl loosing his eye, this scene was the start of it all. Knowing that someone was going to meet there end, but having to wait 10 minutes for Negan to finish talking was very intense and I remember sweating the whole time watching the episode. It was hard to watch the POV shot of Negan bashing in the brains of the unknown.
Season 7/All out War starts - Season 7 was very different from the rest of the seasons. It started with 2 of our favorite characters getting murders by someone with a baseball bat. It was a slow and depressing season, so a scene like this was amazing to see after a long/sad season. The group is finally back on their feet, and they are ready to kick ass again. I cannot wait for season 8!

Rick getting Shane to trust him only to stab him in the chest is one of the scenes that broke my heart in this show. It was so sad, powerful, and moving.

where everyone had a bag of guns, darryl still used his crossbow like an axe, and there was still AT LEAST 1 black dude.
IKR now they are smarter with the resources and Darryl uses a knife instead of damaging his crossbow and having to clean it and now they have many black characters .....
There was always someone black, I don’t want to sound offensive but there was always someone black dude until he died on the prison after a walker bite him, he died but then MICHONNE was the replace,ent and she stills alive and even MICHONNE wasn’t there Gabriel stills there also Ezekiel and Tyresse and Sasha, periodt.

Carol has the best character arc of all time, from a scared helpless girl to a strong leader in her community
Maybe not the best overall scene, but one of the most emotional scenes in the entire series is when Daryl walks up on his brother and see's that Merle is a zombie.

I loved the Rick/Shane confrontation... but, I believe the most impactful scene was the Barn. Finding Sophia was the big storyline for Season 2 and to have it end like that was so heartbreaking.

Seeing negan for the first time in season 6 finale was extremely exciting. Rick and his group were legit being toyed around by negan for almost a whole season before showing his face and wow what an appearance. One of twds best scenes
For season 6, the best moment is when Alexandria started fighting back with Rick. That was so emotional, I had tears in my eyes. Everyone was fighting for their home, even those who weren't fighters, like Olivia and Eric (Both R.I.P)
Yes!! That is my favorite moment from the entire series. It shows how much they can do together and how hard they will work for each other and their community. BEST moment in the series.

no, it's just realistic that walkers aren't gonna be a major threat as the group adapts to them, the show as never about the zombies, it's about the people and how this world changes them. Even then they still have tons of walker conflicts, people still die from walkers all the time

true if you notice the walkers change over the course of the series. they started off still looking human, being fast, climbing fences (saw 1 time), picking up objects (girl with teddy), and running after you. they gradually got slower and more grotesque as time passed. they're present but not a major threat. twd to me is about human's ability to adapt. imagine what you'd be like after years in a world with zombies
You dont realize how campy and low budget this looks until you rewatch it, haha, especially the earlier scenes.

Negan's intro is probably the best villain intro in TV history, and one of the most intense things I've ever seen on TV. Very few scenes give you an overpowering urge to leap through the TV, into the show, and try and do something.

Hard to believe the Walking Dead journey is almost coming to an end, I remember watching the pilot episode back in 2010, felt like a movie man, the Walking Dead has been a huge part of my life, all the characters feel like family now, thank you to the entire Walking Dead cast and crew for all the memories over the last 12 years ❤❤❤

The whole show is pretty average. S7-8 is the only good seasons. Negan saved this show. Imo this show was boring af til negan .
@@ganibenja7049 I could see how you would say it's just average. I love the characters though and found season 1-6 to be amazing. Seasons 7 and 8 were saved from being boring because of Negan who was written and casted perfectly I think. Season 9 and 10 are also pretty darn good.
Even when the walking dead ends for good it's still gonna be series you can binge watch from the beginning

When Carl kills Lori, when Maggie's dad is decapitated. When Daryl's brother suicides. Those were some of the other amazing moments for me.

Although I loved the scene where rick bit the dudes throat, for me I gotta say the scene where Carl and rick stand side by side and shoot the horde that breaks into the prison, that gives me chills every time
I just realised how clean the walkers looked back then. Obviously it's the makeup artists, but it also displays how the recent effects of the infection change from now where there are
A.Zombies that have been infected for a while and
B.The infection spreading faster
i notice how bad the special effects were in s1 compared to the others lol
In reality it was because in season 1 compared to season 2 was a different director who thought that walkers would be able to run and jump and hold onto things when the new director in season 2 decided that walkers should be more mindless and grotesque and this idea was followed by all the directors throughout the rest of the series

True, but then again, nobody expected TWD to become one of the most watched shows on TV. The 1st season only had 6 episodes and I think the directors only did that to see if the show got enough viewers/attention. Otherwise, they probably would have cancelled it.

He met Rick when he didn’t even know the zombie apocalypse happened, and he could barely beat a walker to death, and seeing him kill a man must’ve been weird.

I agree! I still watch and like the show but not with the same intensity I used to. Something died inside of me when Glenn and Carl died and when Rick left the show that was the last straw.
