Broken Hill. A true Outback destination.

Leaving Mungo National Park we travel 250 kilometres of desolate dirt tracks to the Silver City Highway and on to Broken Hill. With stunning heritage architecture, this town owes its existence to mining, but has transformed itself into a destination for intrepid travellers. Come and take a look at the history, the art and the retro Bell's Milkbar. Not to mention the famous Palace Hotel that appears in that iconic Australian film, Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

never would have thought Broken hill would have 17 thousand ppl living there thats about 5 to 7 thousand more than Mudgee nsw. ps have you been to Mudgee yet guys?

Given its location you would think maybe a couple of thousand. But Broken Hill is actually a big town. Well worth a visit. We haven’t been to Mudgee though. Do you recommend it?
