WOW. Can we talk about the cinematography? SO GOOD. The angles, the filter, the perfect mix of footage - animal, scenery, them. And how are adorable are they walking everywhere holding hands? Well done. Thanks for the video.
Adelaide/South Australia might be a little more toned down and not as flashy as Sydney or Melbourne, but there's still more I've not covered and I'll be back to do what I set out to do!

Whenever I go to other states in Australia with bigger cities and towns, I'm always reminded of why I love living in Adelaide. However, from time to time you become numb to the magic it has to offer as you sync into your everyday life. I've lived in Adelaide for almost 16 years now, and watching this video definitely breathes fresh air into how grateful I am to live here. From the perspective of someone who is foreign to Adelaide, truly reignites that magic. Amazing cinematorgraphy, amazing soundtrack that immerses us viewers into the moments and love the genuine love of trying something new.
I live in Adelaide now ... cities I have lived for extended periods include Vancouver, BC, Melbourne and HEAPS in between , even near Houston Tx, and have always been happy, even loved them, but it is Adelaide's low-key, dependable high quality living that I love best. The scenery away from Adelaide is magnificent, but does involve longer distance travelling. Thank you for your enthusiastic, joyful response. Am so sorry Kangaroo Island let you down ... again ... a family place for me. Try Port LIncoln and sharks underwater next time. :) j
I live in Adelaide and I thought you did a great job encapsulating the feel of the city and the countryside. Everything looks different in summer, and I think although not as busy winter/spring is a nice time to come here.
From an Adelaidean, thank you for visiting our corner of the world and sharing your experience through such an immersive and cinematic video. In awe of your skills and the craft you've developed. You picked some great spots to visit, and not to mention the food adventures too - the blue crab pasta at Fugazzi is a personal favourite, and as a fellow oyster lover, seeing you enjoy Coffin Bay oysters was as absolute joy. Love both your personalities and how you complement one another. Can't wait for you to visit us again and discover more South Australian gems!
Close to adelaide city, drive 30mins to Glenelg (coastal suburb), do one of the Temptation Sailing dolphin cruises, and you’ll see heaps of dolphins. Three marine biologists to spot the pods, they then stop the catamaran, and guide you thru what you’re watching, answer questions. The tours are only run during the months of the better weather, and at best times for seeing dolphins (early morning). Best three hours, loved it. Then walk to the Orange Spot Bakery on Anzac Highway for lunch. There are also “swimming with sealife” experiences, out of Port Lincoln, on Eyre Peninsula. There are things to do at the d’arenburg cube, that don’t involve wine eg art, food. So many lovely beaches along the coast (your drive from Cape Jarvis back to adelaide). I suspect the reason enclosed buses are used at Monarto Zoo, is because in the height of summer, eg when it’s in the 40’s (Celsius), visitors would be glad of the Airconditioning inside the bus. We did the Meer Kat experience there, totally recommend, cuteness. Love your content and how you edit. Really enjoyed your travel blog. Esp the seal Lions!
I have been fortunate enough to travelled to quite a few places, in both hemispheres, yet one of my favourite holiday destinations is still Kangaroo Island. As a South Australian I’ve visited K.I. 15-20 times over the past 30+ years and highly recommend it - for the stunning scenery, wonderful wildlife, talented artists and artisans, delectable food and wine, friendly locals and peaceful surroundings.
From Adelaide. Great video, excellent editing and cinematography. You and your wife are very likeable people. Thanks for showcasing our beautiful city.
I'm glad you enjoyed our neck of the woods. First came here 20 years ago from S'pore, fell in love with the place and been here since. :) So much to take in that we tend to get caught up in our day to day and take it so for granted. e.g. catching the aurora on the mountain top recently. Love your video!
i'm from adelaide and this video is beautiful!! you showcased South Australia so well with your cinematography and storytelling. amazing work, hope you get to finally scuba dive with seals and dolphins the next time you're around :)
Hey Shawn, just wanna say it again- me and my partner have always enjoyed your videos, always so cinematic and enjoyable to watch! Hope you enjoyed your trip. Oz oz oz oi oi oi! 😊
Discovered you for the first time! We live on the Fleurieu Peninsula not too far from McLaren Vale. Singapore is one of my husbands and i favourite countries and we love supporting Singaporians!! So heartbroken for you when your seal encounter was cancelled. I hope you can come back. Adelaide and the Peninsula has so so so much to offer. Look forward to watching more from you and your beautiful wife. Nicole x
I'm heading over to Adelaide for work and after watching your video; maybe i'll do some touristy things too! Love your sense of humour and cadence! (Auspicious, Purple botanic garden and steroid zoo??) Still cracking over those! God bless you both!
I've lived in the Adelaide suburbs my whole life and haven't experienced over half the things you have in this video! Very grateful to live in such a warm city. I've been to Sydney and Melbourne and they're just not the same in their charm.
Great to see you had an enjoyable holiday in Adelaide. It is always illuminating to see how other people look at us. Thank you and come again ! Are you game enough to " tackle " Sydney?
A great stay of my home state. I am very surprised i didn't see a trip with you going to the whispering wall also on your stay over here, none the less looks like you picked a good time to come and visit and have been able to enjoy SA for what its good for.
So glad you had a wonderful in my home state, and now home city. KI (Kangaroo Island) is a world treasure in my book, you did a fantastic job sharing your experiences. ❤❤
Wonderful video. So sorry about the sea lions. If you ever go back to South Australia, go to Port Lincoln and swim with the sea lions there in the summer time. One of the best things I have ever done. There is also a beautiful national park to visit and Coffin Bay where there is an oyster farm you would love.
Glad you enjoyed our little town! We say the best thing you can do with Adelaide is not tell anyone about it, or everyone will come. Haha. Great video you guys, thoroughly enjoyed it. Cheers.
This video just got recommended to me by the algorithm. I live in Adelaide, and your depiction of the city is absolutely spot on, so thank you for such an excellent video! (P.s. That accent at Monarto Zoo sounds more South African than Aussie 🤣)
As a man born and bred in Adelaide, please allow me to say sorry about the costs. 😞 Things in Australia are getting unfairly expensive... but I hope the food, the views, the clean air, the people and the beaches... and the hills... (yeah, all that) ... made it worth it! 🙂
great video, and glad you enjoyed the island i call home so much! dissapointing about the dolphins but hey - brightside, you get to come again! and maybe next time you can work it for whale season and hopefully spot a few of them while they swing past KI :D
Australian forests always ‘recover’ quickly from fires. Many eucalypts actively encourage burning. What was unprecedented about these fires was that it was EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE; the ‘recovery’ isn’t particularly remarkable. The trees have come back, but a lot of animals died because they couldn’t run to somewhere else. About a 3rd of the total wild koala population in Australia was wiped out, for example. There’s been no recovery in that sense…
i've lived in SA my whole life, i love seeing people come here, i normally see videos of people going to Victoria or New South Wales, Queensland, etc, i never see many of NT, WA and SA
