- if you watch my videos, u know there had been some kind of noise from my brand new 2024 Kia Soul, it was driving me crazy for months, and now I finally get around to going to get it looked at with the dealership! Here is my experience over at Findlay Kia of Las Vegas.

Some people do not like kia, and honestly kia have had many people say trash about it over the past decade for all kinds of different issues. but my decision to buy this one is AFTER I done a ton of research into those complaints and not just that those issues exist, the lawsuits exists, but also looked at WHY. So many below have said "shouldn't buy a kia" would apply for anyone who does not do their homework before buying. I am 100% confident that my kia will last a super long time because mine does not have the same stuff that was having all those issues... AND I plan to do PROPER service of it based on the reality of how I drive it. I read the whole owners manual and have a good level of reading comprehension.

I bought a Kia 5 years ago and I feel the same way! I just changed the oil/filter yesterday, and like Scotty says, runs like a clock, shifts like a dream! Toyota can suck it!
Kia has improved so much in the past few years. As far as so called "dependable" makes goes, my Civic has had the air conditioning replaced, steering rack and a strange noise from the back loose caliper, when almost new.
Danny, I own a used car dealership extremely close to findlay kia / orchard garden. Bought and sold 600 cars. Your kia is fine. I literally saw a 2018 kia soul yesterday with 311,000 miles on it. I already guessed it was a loose lower trim piece before the fix. Driving at speed, the loose trim piece would catch wind and slap under the car, causing noise. I've bought a few used cars I had to fix that on before selling them.
Glad Kia service center was able to resolve your car's noise issue. Your previous trips on the Deuce were really good as i gave it a go to travel from the strip to the Rio and downtown on my last trip to Vegas. looking forward to seeing more of travels in your new Kia.
I had a 1995 Toyota Corolla. It was a rust bucket but boy oh boy that thing was a BEAST!
I’m glad you got it fixed. I know how it can be stressful and aggravating especially that it’s still pretty brand new and then you’re already start having issues. Whew! It’s not even my car yet I feel relieved. Take care DTM.

I had a optima hybrid for 5 years and my wife had a Sedona , never had a problem with either. Also their warranty and costumer service was great.
Hyundai/Kia had a major recall and class action regarding the theta 2, 1.8 and 2.0 engines.
A lot of carbon build up in the gdi engines with metal shavings were found and blew up the motors. Since then they have been getting better build quality.
Your rattling noise is most likely a loose trans cable hitting around the foot well area.
my research indicated the past stuff had issues, I would not buy the old ones with those
I made sure that my model did NOT have one of those terrible GDI engines

there was a recall on Kia Soul cars. My sons 2015 was in the dealers repair chop at least 4 times. When the recall was settled , the dealer replaced the engine, it took over 45 days for them to replace the engine.
That's great that Kia found and fixed the mysterious noise. Those kind of issues can sometimes be very frustrating.

That’s what I call a great dealership Danny!!!! Most dealers nowadays don’t give a flying poop after they sell you a new car! 2005 I purchased a ford 500 limited all wheel drive for $37,580. In one week drive I around town the volcanic ash that Colorado Springs used for ice conditions, sand blasted part of the car just behind the left rear door. Went back to the dealer and they informed to go to the dealer body shop. They told me they wouldn’t even try to adjust the rear door to stop the damaged area. Went back to the dealer and complained, and of course they stood behind their own body shop. I was sooooooo fffing mad I canceled my order on my new F250 4X4 pickup ($56,000) and went over to the Toyota dealer and purchased one of their 4X4 pickups and saved $20,000. I’ve never considered punching another Ford since then. After Colorado, I’ve only purchased Hyundai Santa Fe’s, I’ve owned 5 Santa Fe’s thanks to fords refusal to help me in a ten minute door adjustment. I honestly wish for ford to go out of business real soon!!!! Thanks for another Great video Danny!!!!!

My guess for the noise is the splash guard under the engine. Those plastic clips comes off easy and cause all kinds of flapping noise.

I used to be obsessed with noises coming from my new cars. I realized that 20k and 30k cars make noises. When you get to 40k and 50k not so much. My current vehicle, an audi, is well built. the hood has 2 latches on it. i expect no noises from a 53k vehicle.

I go to Firestone for the $9.99 diagnostic special and then go to the dealer to fix it or invalidate the issue since dealer charges so much just to look. Firestone has monthly coupons to load to your phone. Oil changes are cheaper at Firestone; they might have free water, too. I think when I come up from AZ, I want to check out $$ Silverton slots, too.
he have a new car. the car is covered under manufacture. stay with dealer otherwise his warranty will be voided

only older car. the new car the battery dies in 2-3 years, even with a toyota.
@Danny, not listen to the negativity, I worked for a Honda dealership for near 33 years, simple things happen, $hrimp happens, your purchasing dealer normally tries hard to retain their customers. Enjoy your Kia. And yes, loose splash shields can cause weird noises and vibrations.

Living in Las Vegas you should consider that severe driving, especially during the summer when there's lots of dust and extreme heat. 🥵 The dealership should be happy with your reviews, it seems they're not like some shady dealerships that try to sell you on more services or don't stand by their product.👍

Congrats on your new car purchase! Have you considered doing your first oil change at 1k just to make sure to remove any metal shavings in the engine? Since the engine/car is new, a lot of people do their first oil change at 1k just to be safe. Then next oil change at 5k, 10k, etc..
I heard that these engines are spun at the factory before putting into vehicles and that break in oil change is not necessary...

My father in law owned a car repair shop and a client brought his new car in because of a noise and the dealership couldn't find it. He had the guy drive him around for a bit and he figured out where the noise was at. He removed the rear door panel and a soda bottle with a note was there. If you found this you didn't go to the dealership.

I can't believe you have been unaware of the free popcorn this long, the car problem was not big deal, they put those covers on the bottom of the car to block the snow from getting up in the car. Good luck getting snow drift in Vagas, lucky if you get more than a inch, before it all melts!

Sometimes you take your car to a dealer and they think the noise is in your head so the tighten some mysterious bolts and say it's fixed. Sometimes they actually fix it. Sometimes you think they fixed it because you don't hear the noise anymore. Sometimes the noise is just in your head.
I have a Hyundai, same company, and they play games too. You need to get invoices to prove they worked on it.
Glad they fixed it. Now you can stop complaining about the noise lol just kidding! I love your videos!!!
Cars nowdays are built to be rattle free, way back when, the cars we owned always rattled. We considered this to be normal and drove those cars more than 100K miles until they finally died.
If you keep listening for a noise one will manifest. 😅

My friend had brand new Kia just died on 4 years. You don’t need a this kind of problems with New car. Just like a dealing with used car. Even it’s a brand new car, No peace of mind.
what happened to your friend's kia? what model? and what is the service history? has it ever been flooded? etc etc
I spit out their free coffee it was nasty. Tasted like roasted prune juice if there's such a thing. The teas are way better.
Hopefully the issue with the rattle has now been rectified. I wish you many happy motoring miles.

Take it to a stereo system retailer and have it sound proof, well worth the money and it is so quiet
there was a video that was showing that.. I dont mind the regular noises, but the odd noise that says "something is not right" is what gets me
i had kias for years. had the suv many years ago, loved it, ran it into the ground, force to buy a new kia, loved it and as time went by, i didnt love the changes (looks, etc) so thats when i went to ford, but had issues with all my ford trucks. so far, the chevy colorado pick up is amazing, no issues (knock on wood)

New Kias now come with free car wash and hallucination.
they outfit cars with the cheapest tires and batterys and everything else. expect those to go wrong danny, better tires might help with the noise but who knows..
the noise was not tire noise, it was something rattling. the tire noise is expected because.. physics.. but battery and tires are consumables and when it comes time, I will replace them.
I'm curious how things continue to work out with your Kia in the future. I like that model & am thinking of buying one. I've always had Toyotas, but $$$.

A dealership is supposed to provide you a loaner when you have purchased a new vehicle that is still under warranty. That noise is a "manufacturer/dealer defect" and is always free to the purchaser to fix! FYI: Kia Soul vehicles are known to have loud wind and road noises at highway speeds. Bet that free bottled water tastes better than "Tap Water"!
on my trip the highway road noise on rough roads were loud! but on smooth roads it is not loud. it is a very quiet car when dealing with outside noises
they said they were out of loaners... oh well, they did take care of it quick and I didnt even get a chance to take the bus! i miss taking the bus!

when engines are built, yes, they have to run it in and change the oil. also when engines are rebuilt, car care nut changes the oil also... kia man told me that kia engines are built and ran at the factory before putting the engine in cars, so no change till 5K suggested.

Was the bottled water and donut free? lol, nothing is free. You paid for the donut, water when you bought the Soul. Depends on why the dealer has over 100 appointments a day, could be a sign that Kia is an inferior product.

I know they cost more and you're Cheap ok. Im Cheap also but i bought used Toyota. A 4Runner & aCamry man what reliable cars they are. Made well. I researched before I bought. the 2024 Kia Soul have the potential to be very very reliable since it isnt a GDI engine that builds carbon outside the valves, Its a multiport injection. and if you dont drive like a jerk, the CVT should last also as long as you do 40k fluid changes.. should last as long as any cheap toyota
I drove a 2024 4Runner rental with 5,000 miles on the odometer for 4 days. Worse experience I ever had. Terrible!

In the old days when my 63 ford falcon had the 8-track, the front rt. spindle started acting up. It was a greg allman band tape playin loud when the thing broke off on rt 80 outside of Stanhope. (then i stopped!) Glad Dan acted.

I remember in 2003 I bought a new Chevy Cavalier it had rattles too; it was assembly bolts in dash not tightened enough but they fixed and never heard it again.

my research would not allow me to buy a car affected by that issue..
it's a Kia.. you will have a lot of rattling noises as the car ages
noises come dont come from nowhere, find it and fix it! none of that idea that age brings rattling noises as if it is magic
I have been beating my Kia Soul callously for over 8 years. Never even slightest snivel. Mine is dead reliable. The dealership is "challenged" though. Good help is so hard to get.

You probably got a "deal" by purchasing it through a dealer. You really didn't. They will bring you in for your lifetime oil change and change your oil pump gasket because it's leaking or something else. I call them Stealerships. Someone has to pay for the beautiful facility, "free" coffee and donuts, slick salesmen, managers, and finance team.

They put a noise cancelling device on your car. 😁 Seriously, I got a 2015 Sorento with 110k miles on it and just some factory recalled problems that they fix and I got 2 or 3 car wash coupons every time I go there for an oil change.👍
I’m all for value and saving money but buying a Kia is not saving money in the future.
I didnt buy "a kia" as if all kias are the same. I looked into this specific year specific vehicle and it has the potential to be a problem free reliable transportation solution for 200K miles or more.. not so much the past ones with the GDI.

Your first mistake: Buying a Kia.
Wife had a Soul for 4 years and 50k miles. Did absolutely nothing to it but put gas in it and change the oil every 5k miles. Original tires, battery, brakes still going strong when she traded it in. Zero problems. Just one example, but our experience couldn't have been better.
