I am having problem setting up. Can't connect it. I thought I heard you say switch off home wifi on mobile, is this correct? Does this include Mob data off as well? Bluetooth need to be on? I tried and scan. It scans and scans nothing happens on the app. Yeah, the hdmi cable are connected. What am I not doing correctly? Please help.
Is it possible to livestream through benbox? Like can you pick the feed in OBS from the benbox?
Hello Oma! I bought a Benbox, and i cant wait i try it because i saw a lot of videos on youtube. But it is useless for me. A have a Sony a7III, easy connect the device, but after when i connect with my Samsung phone first the device works amazing, but after 2-3 minutes the delay grows 2-3 seconds. The device has the new firmware and i use the last software on my Phone ( A5 2017 ). I didnt try another phone yet.
It sounds weird! I did use it on IOS only.

Sony mirrorless cameras connect directly to mobile phones via WiFi so what's the advantage of the Benbox?
Orville Griffiths Interesting question. John Yuhas Sony Imaging Edge app works but it's not stable.l in video mode. In my experience the view port many times freeze to about 2 seconds. This happens once every 10 seconds!
When you take a photo does it show you the review of the photo on the phone ??

In sony cameras you can turn off that by heading to the menu.. and control HDMI Output setting.
This would have been nicer if the app has a few exposure tools apart from zebra and aspect ration guides for framing

Is it suitable for manual focusing via "follow focus"? I mean whether the delay will not interfere with focus?
To be honest, I can'te really tell since I did not test the follow focus on Benbox.
I have a problem like it, it arrived today it was working I went to update the firmware on the PC and it no longer generates the Wi-Fi network. Can someone help me?
Am I right in assuming as it's only accepts HD signal, is the 4K signal downgraded from the Sony and if so, does the face tracking ability not work?
When I tested it, my camera was set to 4K
I believe the received feed is downsampled to 1080
Regarding the Face detection, Sony a7 iii by default turns off the face detection off when the camera is connected to an HDMI Cable, whether you’re using a monitor or transmitter
The 6600 camera on the other hand keeps the face detection on
I wanted to like this because it's also supposed to transmit over wifi to your computer but the Inkee app crashed every time. Hav e you been able to get it to work on a MacBook Pro or an iMac?
I tried to connect it to macbook pro, but the app crashes when I establish connection. I contact the costumer service and been told the following:
You can wait for the status light in the upper right corner to come on before you start pushing the flow. If the system still flashes, just wait for the status light to come on, go to the menu, change the video to 1080p and start pushing the stream. It's a system bug and will be fixed later.
@@OmaGhomrawi Thanks for writing back. I contacted them too and was just told a fix will come out later. I don't know how long or really if ever. I have until July 1st to return it. I'll wait a little longer but if there is no fix soon I'm sending it back. I also have Accsoon device and if the video push to my Macs don't work then it's no better than what I already have and I don't need two of the same thing. On another note, thanks for all your videos I really look forward to them!

What do none of the creators on UA-cam show us HOW to send the signal from Benbox to the PC? There seems to be no video showing the steps. Only "download the software". Nothing else. Help, anyone?
Hey Tony, as you see in my video, we tested benbox on Windows. However, at the time of the video, it didn't work on my Macbook PRO, The software keep crashing.. the company informed me that the software will be fixed in the future.
If you had to choose between a video transmitter or a hard wired monitor, what would you choose and why?
It depends on why you need it. In case to see the camera feed on a larger screen, I recommend on camera monitor.

About the audio, the benbox can transmit video and audio?
I did not test Audio. However, on the official website they do not mention it transmits audio.

This device is not for streaming, it just transmits the camera. Your smartphone and computer become just a monitor

If you mean HDMI cables, you can use any cable do not matter. However, it's recommended to use the cables that come in the package for better performance.
Hey Oma, thanks for the review. When I see it correctly you can see and operate both the camera's (a7m3) and phone's screen even while recording? That would be exactly what Im looking for.
Manuelrehse in sony a7 iii like all sony mirrorless camera will turn the screen to black if you choose to shoot 4K. L
So the camera screen turns black when you start recording and the feed will be shown on the external monitor or transmitter in this case.
While in 1080 you have the feed on both the camera screen and external monitor (or transmitter)

Are there any compremises like losing face detection in 4K? You probably know that happens to the a7m3 when connected to an external monitor and of course thats not ideal
That’s a camera flaw in most sony cameras.
In my testing I found the sony a6600 keeps the face detective active when it’s connected to an external monitor or transmitter.

Nice! Is it possible to stream the feed from an external monitor (via hdmi out) to this device? Also is it possible to use this device as like a recorder with the app, proxy recording to the phone?
Oh, that's a nice idea, it never crossed my mind. I believe it works cause it transmits any signal from HDMI Source.
Recording to the phone is not available, I've been in touch with Inkee the company that make Benbox and been told this would possibly be avaialbe in a future app update.
Oma Ghomrawi right, I think it opens some new possibilities and ideas that I haven’t seen yet. For example as a feed for a client / 2nd viewer while still being able to use ones own external monitor. I’m guessing the latency to the benbox would increase due to the external monitor latency but I’m sure it would still be usable.
Also let’s hope someone like Benbox introduces an in app recording feature. I imagine it might be difficult to achieve a clean signal due to wireless packet drop outs but it would still be an interesting option.
Totally agree, In addition I was shooting product photography couple of days ago and used Benbox and a tablet. I got no one helping me and that's really helped in modifying the composition much easier.
unfortunately there's no new ssid appearing on my screen when i turn on the transmitter. not on any device. (laptop, smartphone, pc with wificard)

it has a built in battery. In the video I mentioned that you can also power it from a power bank if you run out out of power, I hope that was not misleading.

Actually no, the iphone can not connect to 2 WIFI setups at the same time.
Once your smartphone is connected to Benbox, you get internet connection for you mobile data / LTE

design wise looks like Accsoon Cineye
Oma Ghomrawi it looks similar but not same. EagleEye has exchangeable battery, supports Audio & Video Transmission and supports 30/60Hz frame rate. Camera control for many camera brands is also supported. And last but not least we are a German company with German quality!
