I review the Olight Olantern Stretch. This is a unique dual-light source lantern with an extendable head.
Olight provided me a free sample of this lantern for review. I was not paid to make this video. I have not held back on any negative opinions of this light.

    Olight Olantern Stretch
General thoughts after a week of usage/size comparison/practicality/interesting things:
    • So a different review video today - this here is the Olight Olantern Stretch. It's a height-adjustable, dual-light source lantern that comes with a 16,000mAh battery! Although it's marketed as a camping light, I also think it makes a great desk light or general ambient light to use around the house at night. I use the warm light mode all the time now, as I find it easier on the eyes than ceiling lights at night. It even comes with a lifetime warranty!
    • What do you get into the box? USB-C charging cable, instruction manual.
Overall Construction, LED, lens, bezel and reflector
    • The exterior of the Olantern Stretch is made entirely of metal - it feels like stainless steel, and reminds me of the same grade of material you'd see in a high-quality stainless steel kettle. Some polycarbonate parts as well at the base. Olight has added a nice antiqued copper finish as well. IPX5 water resistance and 0.8m drop resistance which is surprising for something that would normally be quite fragile.
    • The head can be extended by pulling the handle. Must hold down the base.
    • Metal handle with another metal ring around the head to mount onto a hook or pole. The lantern sits firmly on four rubber feet.
    • There are actually three sets of LEDs in this lantern. The warm LEDs (rated at 130 lumens, 1900-2100K) are in the transparent dome but there are also some additional ones under the top of the lamp. They remind me of the old incandescent light bulbs. The white LEDs (rated at 500 lumens, 3250-3750K) are under the flared-out section above the transparent dome. The dome is made of polycarbonate. Operated by side dial/switch. Stepless ramping looks smooth.
    • Under the rubber port, there is a USB-A + C port that supports 18W fast charging. 16,000mAh battery - huge battery capacity. Great for road trips. Also supports reverse charging from both ports.
    UI - modes
    • Switch lets you select between warm and white light.
    • Rotate the dial to switch on and adjust brightness.
Performance - total output, beam profile, longevity, practicality
    • Sustained brightness test (high), CRI, CCT
    • Nice diffused light in all directions. The warm light has an interesting artifact pattern that creates a nice ambiance. The white light is smoother, without artifacts. Extending the telescopic pole increases the throw slightly as the light closer to the base is more intense.
    Considerations
    • 500 lumens max - but very long runtime.
    • Larger handle would be nice. They've gone for a sleeker, low-key design.
    • Larger than a normal flashlight & 1KG - but it'd fit in a backpack easily.
    • Non-replaceable battery.
    Verdict
I absolutely love this thing, and it's become a permanent fixture around my apartment. Olight really know how to make intuitive, user-friendly products, and the Olantern Stretch is certainly one of them. I like their modern take on the classic lamp, and how practical it is when you consider the 250-hour runtime, reverse charging multiple light sources - this is the perfect all-purpose light. It'd be perfect when going camping or on road trips, carrying around the house or to the backyard, for mood lighting, a night light, or a desk lamp due to the extendable head.
