This is fucking amazing, I've always tried telling myself that I should play to improve but hearing it from someone else with so much depth just changed everything, instead of blaming your teammates for your loss instead you look over the things you did wrong, watch VODs of your gameplay etc, instant sub and will share this with others!

Love this. I've been having the wrong perspective lately and I've noticed some of my friends thinking the same way, but this video has taught me a lot of things. Can't wait to go into the next game and practice this new perspective.
I never competed as a gamer (although I've played video games my whole life), but I did play competitive laser tag all through college (1997 through 2003). Every bit of what you said here applies to that, or any sport or craft if you ask me. Don't make winning your ultimate goal...make learning, improving and growing your goal. Do that and the wins will come as a by product to that mindset. As a result of not worrying about losing or dying, I'm actually having fun with Dark Souls PvP now...not only that, because I'm pushing myself out of my comfort zone to learn it better, I get a win here and there as icing on the cake! Thank you!

I don't know how much I have tilted in game and every time I do, I know that I'm hurting my progress but it feels like an endless cycle of trying to improve and tilting. Thanks for the video.
What I sometimes do before doing a ranked/competitive game is watch this video to get my mind set on check and before I do this step, my first step is play a game or two of casual with friends. Then I solo queue or queue with friends. It’s always important to be outside your comfort zone and push out little by little.
I’ve found frustration to be compounded when I only have a limited time to play like on work nights as opposed to a Saturday morning with coffee with no work to do so I can just game with leisure and enjoy game after game.

Well I am really bad at fps games, I have a KDR of 0.4 in a game of warface ,and I used to rage a lot during gaming, now I don't really care about KDR, on the contrary, this video helped me to calm down and try to improve as a medic in this game, for the team is more important than kills.
Chill OUT Zone! 100 true ...i had it built in because I played baseball when I was in HS but when I started play bf1 on pc for the first time I got wreckkkkkkedddd but I kept telling myself they played longer then me so it's w.e ...a year later I always get like 52kills and 20 deaths which isn't good good but I use to get 6kills and 20deaths so I know I'm getting better
I play CSGO. I have 280 hours and my competitive rankings teeter between silver 2 and 3. I always have this anxiety in the back of my mind when I play because I feel that I should be better than I am. I mean at this point I should be at least silver 4, right? So I was playing some matches tonight and was doing very poorly. I was getting so upset that I could barely speak. I felt depressed because I spend so much of my time on this game and I don't feel like I'm improving at all. I ended up taking a break and I searched for videos on how to improve my aim and I found this. Your video really helped me change my perspective on my failures and when I got back on (playing casual instead of competitive) I found it a lot easier to accept when I was killed in a more reserved manner, instead of shouting the F word into my mic. I feel like I'm learning again, even if it's a really slow process. Thanks for making this :)

This is very well done..as someone who studies psychology, there's alot of things that are known as mental blocks. It can be the old "I'm better than my rank it's other peoples fault". It's the most common one. There's a reason people at pro levels can become the higher ranked players quite easily. They know how good they are and know what they're lacking. Working on that is massive for progression in all aspects of life. This is also why many E-Sports organizations have mental coaches.
Fear and frustration sums it up nicely. Part of my problem is that I'm a very negative person whose reactions to most things are either anger or apathy. It is very difficult for me to control my rage and I often do things I regret. These feelings are multiplied tenfold in games. Another problem is that I don't know how to have fun anymore. Lastly, I just can't seem to learn from mistakes.

What led up to that? There's more then likely something you could have done to prevent it. Find out what it is and keep it noted and think of how you could prevent it
Losing can be a success if you learn from it, and on the other side of the same coin, winning can be a failure if you don't learn from it. I feel like keeping both of these in your mind can help to reassign the values in playing the game from victory / rank to improvement. This video was really helpful because sometimes you're tilted and don't even know it so it's really important to reassign that priority.
seeing my teammates getting tilted makes me tilt. In low ranks I just see all frustration. Back in the days I used to pressure myself to play good when someone criticized me, I started ignoring toxicity and now I am a lot calmer (expect ping disconnects and power cuts which make me really angry)

When I play cod mobile I always get scared to rush pro players even if I have defender class (OP close range class). Even if I rush I lose like 100% percent of the time. But now i rise myself up. It was simple (do the thing your scared,and you'll get used to it). Now I can rush without anxiety and fear and defeat the pro`s. Now i am tip 3rd player in global in battle royale.

One thing that has really helped me with tilt and rage was boxing when I was in high school as well as my fascination with philosophy. Namely Bruce Lee and Marcus Aurelius I did it to help with life and it helped with my gaming as well. It’s helped me care less about outside perspective and concern myself with my own growth as a person in all aspects of my life. My only competition is me not because I’m better but because the only thing I can control is my own skill.

I learned this many years ago trying to understand why I dominated friends and my neighborhood in the video games. The biggest difference was I played to get better while everybody else just played to win. If they found a move or 2 when the game was released they would spend the whole year doing the same thing a million times. They wouldn’t learn anything else until they was forced to. I was guilty of that too as a little kid but playing that way became boring asf to me as I got older. It was no way I could put 100 hours into a game playing that way. I would rather play to get better and maybe win 90% of my games instead of only playing to win doing the same 2 moves and win 99% of my games. I became much better playing that way, people get caught up too much in the W-L record. Yes it’s very very important, but it’s not everything.
My emotions are clearly the thing that are holding me back, sometimes i have an emotionless day where i just play like a god and then there are these days where it feels like im in emotion hell, i already have that kind of a mindset cuz when i win a round without doing anything im not feeling any succees or something cuz the round gave me nothing and i would have rather lost this round to have one more round to do something, so i already have the mindset of playing to improve but if i die im so mad and it seems like i cant control it and if i just let it soak into myself im even more pissed, it is so hard on the way to go pro, people really do take this to easy and think that its so easy to game professional.....

I have a lot of anxiety when I play online games and ESPECIALLY ranked games. It's so bad to the point where I'll load up my game and hover over the "online play" or "ranked" option so long and sometimes I'll back out and not even play....trying to work on that and push myself out of my comfort zone to play more online games has been a struggle but I try to tell myself if I keep doing it it'll get better and I wont get so anxious anymore

I wish this channel had been around when I was younger. At 28, becoming a "pro" gamer is probably not in the cards for me, but these videos still have some good lessons to take from them.
It's so weird, when i play ranked on team games, i get MUCH less frustrated then when i play a solo game. I think that the "guilt" of loses comes just for me and not to the team

My problem is that... you know i can't get over it like we lost the match because of me and instead of forgetting or overcoming it, I keep on remembering it and tell my self how stupid that decision was or "why did I do that?!' idk if its a bad thing or not but for me its bad, really really bad because I just keep on regretting it and end up getting disappointed at my self... and then boom tilt be coming my way.
Rage effects my gameplay massively when I play seige. I get a great amount of kills in my first few games, more importantly I'm a great team player, then I drop the ball and rage bad. I get much more toxic and a lot more reckless. Then my score drops and I become a liability. Worst of all I yell when I die which disturbs my neighbours and the people around me. Trying to get my rage under control is a challenge but with enough discipline I'll do it.
I used to get anxiety from losing to a girl gamer in a 1v1 especially when I had bad memories from a pro basketball girl beating me and people clowning me for it. No more. Not ever. The preception in my mind losing is what made me fail. When I gave myself the preception that even if I lose, don't make me a loser- it helped me approve a lot
You'll lose to a lot of people, even those you underestimate. The key is to respect that your opponent was better than you in that moment, but recognize that you're capable of improving and becoming greater than them in the future.
I practice everyday and i’d like to say I’m good at csgo but when I hop in a comp or faceit match I feel anxious and I shiver and feel weird. So than I end up bottom fragging and not helping the team at all idk what my problem is

Same with people for R6 from NA, if you are a gold player, solo que in EU servers. In EU Gold+ ranks are much more strategy/tactical than na is. NA is just gunning and EU is for improving other asppects besides aim.

I am actually just watching this for the first time. I used to dabble in a couple competitive matches in fighting games just to see if I was “good”. I’d play with my friends and get in heated matches but never ranked. I played DOA5 heavily in ranked but for some reason stopped but I was very good at that game eventually. I keep stopping myself from trying new games.

Then go play a better polished game, where the basic mechanics are consistent.
Wes when you hit for 8 you missed your shot. 25/30 damage is the least you can do while hitting all your pellets.

Ive noticed that the second i get frustrated i lose my capability of seeing what i do wrong. When im happy and having a great time i can tell my mistakes and what i could have done better. From my perspective, youve lost the second you let the game and enemy make you mad

When I play cod mobile I always get scared to rush pro players even if I have defender class (OP close range class). Even if I rush I lose like 100% percent of the time. But now i rise myself up. It was simple (do the thing your scared,and you'll get used to it). Now I can rush without anxiety and fear and defeat the pro`s. Now i am tip 3rd player in global in battle royale.

One thing that has really helped me with tilt and rage was boxing when I was in high school as well as my fascination with philosophy. Namely Bruce Lee and Marcus Aurelius I did it to help with life and it helped with my gaming as well. It’s helped me care less about outside perspective and concern myself with my own growth as a person in all aspects of my life. My only competition is me not because I’m better but because the only thing I can control is my own skill.

I learned this many years ago trying to understand why I dominated friends and my neighborhood in the video games. The biggest difference was I played to get better while everybody else just played to win. If they found a move or 2 when the game was released they would spend the whole year doing the same thing a million times. They wouldn’t learn anything else until they was forced to. I was guilty of that too as a little kid but playing that way became boring asf to me as I got older. It was no way I could put 100 hours into a game playing that way. I would rather play to get better and maybe win 90% of my games instead of only playing to win doing the same 2 moves and win 99% of my games. I became much better playing that way, people get caught up too much in the W-L record. Yes it’s very very important, but it’s not everything.
My emotions are clearly the thing that are holding me back, sometimes i have an emotionless day where i just play like a god and then there are these days where it feels like im in emotion hell, i already have that kind of a mindset cuz when i win a round without doing anything im not feeling any succees or something cuz the round gave me nothing and i would have rather lost this round to have one more round to do something, so i already have the mindset of playing to improve but if i die im so mad and it seems like i cant control it and if i just let it soak into myself im even more pissed, it is so hard on the way to go pro, people really do take this to easy and think that its so easy to game professional.....

I have a lot of anxiety when I play online games and ESPECIALLY ranked games. It's so bad to the point where I'll load up my game and hover over the "online play" or "ranked" option so long and sometimes I'll back out and not even play....trying to work on that and push myself out of my comfort zone to play more online games has been a struggle but I try to tell myself if I keep doing it it'll get better and I wont get so anxious anymore

It's so weird, when i play ranked on team games, i get MUCH less frustrated then when i play a solo game. I think that the "guilt" of loses comes just for me and not to the team

My problem is that... you know i can't get over it like we lost the match because of me and instead of forgetting or overcoming it, I keep on remembering it and tell my self how stupid that decision was or "why did I do that?!' idk if its a bad thing or not but for me its bad, really really bad because I just keep on regretting it and end up getting disappointed at my self... and then boom tilt be coming my way.

Rage effects my gameplay massively when I play seige. I get a great amount of kills in my first few games, more importantly I'm a great team player, then I drop the ball and rage bad. I get much more toxic and a lot more reckless. Then my score drops and I become a liability. Worst of all I yell when I die which disturbs my neighbours and the people around me. Trying to get my rage under control is a challenge but with enough discipline I'll do it.

I used to get anxiety from losing to a girl gamer in a 1v1 especially when I had bad memories from a pro basketball girl beating me and people clowning me for it. No more. Not ever. The preception in my mind losing is what made me fail. When I gave myself the preception that even if I lose, don't make me a loser- it helped me approve a lot
You'll lose to a lot of people, even those you underestimate. The key is to respect that your opponent was better than you in that moment, but recognize that you're capable of improving and becoming greater than them in the future.

Same with people for R6 from NA, if you are a gold player, solo que in EU servers. In EU Gold+ ranks are much more strategy/tactical than na is. NA is just gunning and EU is for improving other asppects besides aim.

I am actually just watching this for the first time. I used to dabble in a couple competitive matches in fighting games just to see if I was “good”. I’d play with my friends and get in heated matches but never ranked. I played DOA5 heavily in ranked but for some reason stopped but I was very good at that game eventually. I keep stopping myself from trying new games.
