Simple, he values Tej higher than Sarah. Tej has a networth of 390m pounds and Sarah's is 40m pounds.

@@Asif-kh-n9r I didn't make any comments on how they made their wealth. I just said that the guy pitching values Tej more and in terms of networth he is worth more too. I'm not picking sides. Another metric is total number of investments in the den, which Sarah actually has very few of.

perhaps he was fine with the 10%, but maybe wanted 2 dragons with 5% split between them.

The logic behind Thrift is 2nd hand clothes, donation, charity, feeling of happiness, mood buster, helping others is hugely empowering and, in turn, can make you feel happier and more fulfilled.Does Debra expect the bags to say Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, Dior, Balenciaga, Armani, Yves Saint Laurent, Burberry, Hermès, and Prada. Do these brands make you feel donated!!!
So he would of took tej for 10 percent but tried to get Sara down to 7.5. If I was her I would of said do one now!

Anybody that comes in and offers 5% is an absolute joker and shouldn't even waste the time to come on the show.
Come in with 5% but in ur mind have ur real equity of say 20% so when they work up ya can accept or try work it down a smudge 😊

Charity people already do this! They go round homes leaving bin bags on your doorstep, if you have anything to throw out you leave it outside and they come and collect it.

Shops already exist where you can walk in with your old clothes and then you are able to exchange or buy other peoples old clothes. I forget the name of the chain now.
Third for the person who sends the clothes, 3rd to the business and 3rd to the charity.

Joe's idea of value. An investor has to have a road to getting money back. 10-20%. The admin & hands on logistics are overwhelming. A bad deal for the investor. Guarantee he gets a lot of unsolvable clothes. On sake buyers are very picky. 1/3 of profit after fees & shipping. His margins will be low.

I don't think I've ever seen an example of someone missing the point more than him with Toucan Sillyman. Gives delusional figures for what he "will" be selling so Toucan points out "But that's more than some of the top retailers in the country." and he responds with "I'm excited to be one of the biggest retailers in the country."
Just because "top retailers" was mentioned with regards to what you're saying doesn't mean you're being positively compared to them, you fool.

500k already raised, raising another 500k of which the 150k will be a part. IOW the 150k is 1/6th of the capital raised. For that he offers 5%, 1/20th of the company. How is that a good proposition?

Total scam, name one company that collects charity money that actually gives the promised amount to charity ? This guy knows people aren't going to check if the selected charity actually got 1/3 so he keeps 2/3 and just send 1/3 to the original owner of the goods. If he donates 1/3 to charity for one cheap item out of every 100 he can still say he donated to charity and be factual. Total scam

Or just skip the middleman and sell on facebook market or ebay and keep all your profits. And ofcourse if your feeling generous in the middle of the crashing pound and "cost of living" scam, then obviously make a small donation to your favourite charity🙂
Yeah many of these charity startups on the show often fail to realize they are just middlemen taking a cut of already established channels of charity.
The thing is, it takes time and effort to sell your own stuff. I do it quite a lot on Vinted, and if you do it frequently it's really more effort than just using a platform like that.

Company had -29k loss in 2021 however made profit of 325k in 2020. It might take a few years but this business can be very successful.
