I just watched all part one and then this….. I’ll be fitting a series 2 soft top soon and wanted to have as much information as possible even if it is a different series. I have learned a lot. Thanks. I now feel confident enough to tackle my soft top. Excellent informative video! Know Expert
I am glad that this has helped you. The Series II top is different so I would recommend that you try to look at other cars and how their tops are fitted before you start as it will help you.
Do you know if there is anywhere to purchase those metal atrengthening plates for the rivets? My top did not come with them and my car did not have fhem.
We got ours from a ship’s chandlers as they are used a lot on boats. Try any fastener company. Somewhere like Spalding Fasteners will probably have them.
From the analytics I've noticed a lot of people watching just the start of this video. To understand how this type of soft top works you need to watch through to the later parts and the water testing. You won't 'get it' until you see how the inner hood fixes to the drain channel on the body of the car.
If you take your time, follow the instructions in the video and you will find that the soft top stows away nicely AND you have a fully waterproof roof!
@@TheSunbeamAlpineChannel thanks for the fast replay, I just bought my first car and it's a sunbeam alpine 65. I will reach out to them to see if they can help me Thanks again
We don’t put any vocal on videos on The Sunbeam Alpine Channel. We include instructions in the videos so that you can pause and read them (or translate what is written if you don’t speak English).
@Kristian Jonsson We made this particular video because of the state that some ‘professional’ trimmers were leaving Alpine soft tops in! We personally know three owners whose soft tops were ruined by the installers. Follow the video and you will have a nice soft top that fits and folds correctly.

The soft top came from Don Trimming in UK. It is 'premium quality' vinyl.
